This place is truly dreadful. Do not stay here. On arrival card swiped before you can see room. Booking was made with promotion of parking & food available. Neither was true. Car park was full on arrival at check in time. Was told just day drinkers & they couldn’t park there after 6. We could move the car later. We couldn’t. The vehicles never left so car was on street with broken glass, gas canisters & rubbish all night. But the worst was to come. When we returned after a fab gig at O2, the pub was thumping with loud music. It was midnight. We assumed it would stop soon. We got to our room. The door & windows were vibrating with the music. The sound was so loud the fabric of the building was shaking. There appeared to be no staff in charge. Our room entrance & the pub reeked of weed. There were not that many people in the pub for the thumping music. I’ve been to night clubs with quieter music. It was awesomely loud. The music stopped around 1.30. People eventually departed the pub at 2am. We eventually fell asleep. Room & en-suite was old but at least clean. Bed was comfortable. We awoke to arguments in the bar around 7.30 which sounded like others complaining. We hastily packed our bags. Upon swift departure no staff to be found. A guy filling the optics (who may have been staff) said “I understand the music was too loud” & laughed. We noticed several buckets collecting water gushing from the bar ceiling from the room above. No idea what was going on, but maybe the sound broke old water pipes. We hastily departed to find refuge & food. I have been in touch with the venue & with booking.com to ask to share video of shaking. No one is interested in seeing it. Do not stay here. Do not drink here. Do not eat here. Do not even park here. Sadly the good reviews are of a past existence of this dreadful place.

Stayed here for 2 nights to attend cricket. Very friendly and helpful, they allowed us to keep our picnic in their fridge overnight. Room was clean, with everything required (tea/coffee making) and quality linen and towels. Breakfast is good value at £7.50. The biggest asset of this hotel is Adam who describes himself as the night ported, excellent chap who goes out of his way for customers to help them. Would certainly stay here again

What can I say stayed last night the place is filthy dirty hairs on bed ,dirty walls carpet not hovered or clean, shower room had a awful smell didn’t even have a shower couldn’t face it. When we arrived at 7pm we were told we had to order straight away as cook was going home we had a choice of 5 things all meet dishes and was not great couldn’t eat it. They had no cold wine which for a pub is not great. There are far better places to go even at that price. Don’t go

Wonderful place with very friendly staff as well as very friendly customers. I had no problems with my dog joining me when I dropped in and he was made to feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend and the hotel rooms are a good size with a reasonable price range.

Lovely little place, about a mile from New Street, nice easy walk though slightly uphill to the pub. Number 50 bus seemed to stop outside every 5minutes so good transport links into the centre. Twin room was nice, with a kettle and tea/coffee (cups were a little small). Beds were comfy, and the bathroom was a little small but had the toilet, sink, shower and that was all that was necessary (though no lock on the door). Decent storage for a couple nights away (though only 3 hangers in our room). Not very soundproof, but didn’t have any problems with noise trying to get to sleep. Staff were absolutely fab. We didn’t encounter any problems with staff or the venue. All in all, a very nice stay for the price.

Had a two night stay at the Moseley and can honestly say I wouldn't stay again . Its a 2 star but I think that's too many for them. The room smells musty and the bathroom as a pungent odour the window is cracked and the shower could do with a very DEEP CLEAN... In addition, there was no remote control for the room. We were told that there are buttons on the side, and that you can get up and changes. Whilst this might seem a minor gripe, hotels should offer convenience and customer amenities. Casual flicking of channels is common practice, especially after a day at work. The option of changing channels from the bed would have been welcome when I was unable to sleep during the second evening. Its a very noisy pub and our room was above the bar the. Thursday night wasn't too bad, as the noise stopped at a reasonable time but OMG Friday night they had a 30th birthday party and the noise was horrendous. The music was so loud and vibrating and the whooping and hollering girls added to the distress of not being able to get to sleep . I rang down at midnight to ask how much longer this noise was going on for to be told that it was on till 1o'clock!!! My concerns were brushed with a comment that "it is a pub". Ironically, the member of staff taking my call kept asking me to repeat my comments as she could not hear me. She had to go to the end of the corridor. because it was so noisy!!!!! When the music finally stopped, the guests leaving obviously had no regard for anyone trying to sleep so it was nearer 2oclock before we could finally get some sleep. The Moseley may be a pub but it also offers accommodation. Had we been informed when booking that a party was on we would not have stayed. Guests booking really need to be informed if a noisy party is scheduled for a night that they are booking. Additionally, if the hotel is not fully-booked, why place someone in a room directly above the stage? Or, if the hotel is fully-booked (or heavily-booked), why were guests of the party who were staying there, which we were told had booked rooms, not roomed above the din? When checking out, I always strip bed linen off my beds etc and discovered pillows and duvets that had clearly seen better days. Asda and Tesco do reasonable priced duvets and pillows so really no excuse for such tatty bed accessories . As the room cost £75per night I think the least you deserve is a duvet that isn't dirty and torn and pillows only fit for a dogs basket . Finally, I was told that the manager would be in in the morning for me to register my concerns. Come the morning a very pleasant young lady told us that the manager (Sharon?) Would actually be in at 4o'clock, long after I had left. I was told that I should call at that time and that the manager took complaints very seriously. Having now looked at reviews on TripAdvisor, this cannot be the case as the same problems are being repeated still. Upon checking availability in the locale, it became apparent that the Premier Inn rate is considerably less than that of the Moseley Arms and that they have bedding fit for human use. We, as a family, try to give local, independent businesses support instead of using a chain, but independents do have a responsibility to provide a reasonable product and good customer service, rather than cutting corners, half-arsing things, and resting on their laurels. Unless serious issues are resolved, people will, and should, book elsewhere.

Popped in here for a breakfast and was very impressed. Nice settings easy parking at rear, Really well presented and tasty full mini breakfast. Good value at £5. with mug of tea. Hatti and Richard provided the food service. They are both Scottish and Hatti is male and a Sikh with a lovely Edinburgh accent. They deserve to do well and will make you very welcome. :-)

I rang a few days in advance to check if it was okay to check in early since I would be working a night shift (8pm-8am) since I am a healthcare assistant and we do long hours. The woman on the phone said it’s fine you can arrive by 9am the will be ready as long as I pay an extra £10 on arrival. Okay that’s fine. So the day of check in comes around, I rang up at 9am to ask if the room is avaialable. The man on the phone said no the cleaners don’t come in until 10am, come down at about 10:30am.Fine okay. So I sat in a local park, very very tired after working long hours. So at 11:00am I rang, a different woman picked up the phone and I asked can I check in yet, she said no check in is at 2pm. Such a massive headache. But I said I will pay the extra £10 and she said okay come down. And she did not seem too happy at the reception, almost as if I was an inconvenience. She got me to sign everything, handed the key and as I was about to ask something she abruptly said “bye”. It’s almost as if I hadn’t rang up in advance to tell the hotel I need to check in early. Lack of communication, and I felt so tired by the time of checking in, waiting around in parks after 12 hours of looking after vulnerable people. It was not fair to be honest. The room itself was okay and clean, but the service from some of the staff is unacceptable

Nice little pub and hotel in Digbeth. Rooms are fine, clean and comfortable. Staff are great, drink prices are reasonable. 20 min walk into the city centre, but there's a bus (#50) that stops right outside every 4 minutes. Food is served Monday to Thursday, cooked breakfast available on a Sunday only. If you decide to stay on a Friday night you're going to need to make alternative arrangements to eat. Can't see that being a problem for most people.

It is very close to Birmingham center and you can reach anywhere you want by bus. The staff are very friendly. I chose this hotel because it was very close to where I would have a meeting, and I came by reading the reviews, but I was disappointed. Hot water wasn't working and I couldn't take a shower for 2 days. I just had to wash my head under cold water and then I got sick. Hearing noise from other rooms, not having an elevator, and enter the building with a password from the back door when we enter the building at night are disadvantages, but I really don't care about these. Lack of hot water is more important than all of the things I mentioned. If they had told me this when I arrived, I would have gone to another hotel. On the second day, the employees told me that the problem would be solved in the afternoon, but there was the same problem in the evening. Maybe it was my luck that happened this way, I don't know. But in the end, no one could solve the problem. Never again!

Nice clean rooms. Small space at there. All the amenities are there in this hotel. Good for your short stay. Its 1.6miles away from Birmingham New station railway and same distance to Birmingham Bus station. Location is good. Its around £45 per night.rate seems to be ok.

Great pub, very friendly and welcoming staff. Its about 10 minute walk from 02 institute. For town we took a #50 bus from opposite the pub and dropped by bullring for £2. Beds are comfy. The room was nice and warm, and the pub down stairs is more than a fair price.

Absolutely shocking place! The first room we were given had a broken shower door and window blind cord> were given another room which was extremely small and had a broken window(was more a single room though we booked a double)> were told will be moved to another room the next day which clearly didn't happen as it wasn't blocked for us. All in all a bad experience!

It's cheap and convenient for Digbeth. But the room was very small, the blind riddled with holes, the bathroom stank of drains, the sink was too small to fill the kettle and it was very noisy - could hear every movement of the person upstairs, every phone call of the guy next door and even the phone on the other side of us vibrating on the table. No breakfast being served so a ten minute walk to the local cafe every day. Food served (choice of about eight dishes) on Thursday but went nothing served on a Friday night. So had to walk back into town after a day of shopping. Staff were all dead friendly, parking at the rear was free, but overall not a great experience and we probably won't be back.

I stayed here for a bit over a week during the commonwealth games. All I was looking for with my accommodation was a no frills place to sleep. The walls are paper thin so you can hear your neighbors very clearly, the room had a strange smell so keeping the window open was mandatory which also meant that I got to enjoy people shouting at each other late into the night and first thing most mornings. I kept finding bugs on the floor of my room, after raising this with staff they did nothing. These issues aside, I would not recommend staying here in summer. Though a nice breeze does help keep the room cool, it felt like there was either someone shouting or smoking below the room at all times.

Stopped on Saturday for party. Pub is spot on and very friendly. Lovely pint of Workington s. Room was well clean and comfy. Ignore some reviews on here. This pub is great. If you like a bit crack and a good time. The bar staff went out of there way to make us feel at home and very welcome. Would definitely go back. Thanks everyone at the pub. We had a great time.

Sorry to say I stood at the bar for 12 minutes without seeing a member of staff - appreciate the hotel takes some attention though hence 3 stars instead of 1. Will try again soon as looks like a decent pub! Look forward to updating my review.

Great location for exploring Digbeth, with parking. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Pub itself is really nice, though we didn’t have time to eat or drink there, would definitely return to sample!

Hotel room was dirty- stained carpets, sticky side tables, TV remote didn’t work, hairs (one of which looked like a pubic hair) in the bed, dip in the mattress. The hotel was very loud at all times. Could hear the conversations from receptionists, the guests staying above and next to us. We were woken up multiple times by the people above us walking around due to horrendous flooring. The room was freezing and my partner and I had to sleep in hoodies and joggers to keep warm. Overall very unpleasant stay, would not stay again even if on a budget.

Stayed here one night on a music tour and I cannot fault the room I had or the staff. Certainly good value compared with mainstream hotels. I wish I'd known about it before as I have been working in Birmingham for twelve years and occasionally get stuck overnight, especially in winter or with train problems. The only slight downside is that it's about a twenty minute walk from the centre. The immediate area is a little run down but tolerable if you want practicality.

Ordered a soup and it was spice for someone who break their fast. I love spicy but they happily changed the soup. 👍 Very friendly people n if you like pubs and Thai food, this place is brilliant.

Stayed here whilst on a night out. Nice pub, clean rooms and friendly staff. Small free car park and very good value compared to the main hotel chains. Will definitely stay again. Pub downstairs had a good selection of beers. Local drinkers made you feel welcome and not out of place. Cheers guys.

A really nice, welcoming pub and hotel. I booked to stay a night for an away match against Birmingham, the ground being about 15 minutes away. The pub has a small bar but the staff are all very friendly and keep the queue to minimum . They have a good variety on tap and I couldn't resist a ham roll that was begging me to eat it, neatly wrapped in cellophane on the bar.... The room i booked had two single beds, it was clean and tidy. Its a good walk into the centre but that shouldn't put you off.

Just awful! If you’re staying here for work and need a good nights sleep, don’t bother. there is no sound insulation between the room either side, above or below you may as well be in the same room. There is currently a party going on in the beer garden 12.30am so you can’t have the window open because of the noise

Perfect location and free parking what is amazing for a city! Rooms a little tired and so is the pub but that didn't bother us. Pub was lovely and friendly and so were the staff. Would 100% stay again when needed!

Huge let down, the website painted a far different picture to the actual reality here ,.and I score generously. The water in the shower was cold 24/7, the room was ok,but the window (loft) was so dirty on the outside it was dark in the day. The bed spring went in the night and the dresser actually had a half pack of Viagra left in it, added to the fact that the TV was left on the adult channel it felt like a sleazy room.only.4 meals on the menu none at all healthy, so added to a dismal stay. Only
