Such an amazing experience! Me and the husband stayed here for 2 days/1 night for a well deserved city break. The hotel was just as great as it looks in the pictures. About a 10 min walk from the Birmingham New Street train station and Bullring, so a very convenient location for shopping, sightseeing and night life. Very quiet and clean. We requested extra pillows which they provided. It boasts a gorgeous lounge area with a pool table and artifical fire places. When you book, make sure you get the breakfast included. The breakfast was an experience on its own! Everything was very well presented, the food was tasty and they even catered to our request for vegan sausages! Also on Sundays they have a late 3pm(!) checkout! [12pm Monday to Saturday]. 10/10 in my opinion and we will definitely visit again! Very excited to check out their other branches!

Me and my partner was staying in the hotel for a night as we was going out in Birmingham. All round it was not a good hotel. We got to the hotel and the staff were not really welcoming when checking in. We went to the room which we paid £119 and it certainly was not worth it. Firstly there was no complementary water which really is the basic for a hotel to provide and we got told it was going to be there. They only provided small glasses and tea cups so we could not have a proper cup of tea or water. There was dirty/ stained net curtains as well as the floor. It was not very clean at all. The shower screen was dirty and so was the bed sheets. We paid for a double bed and give a twin which the pillows were not existence so it was like sleeping without one. The lighting in the room was poor. There was no main light just small little ones. For the money we paid we didn’t even get a fridge which we left was a let down. Lastly, there is a 30 second car park around the corner and no one advised us this which We felt was not good customer service and clearly all about the money. In summery we felt like it was Very very basic for the price and I would not recommend this to anyone else. I do have photos also as evidence but it won’t let me add them!

Lovely, quiet (at least whilst I was there) air con available and a good shower. On site restaurant has a small selection of food I had the teriyaki salmon and it was delicious! Good location. Does have limited under ground parking

Enjoyed my stay. Just round the corner walking to the O2 Academy walking distance to the shopping centre. Breakfast was very good 👍cooked breakfast, continental, tea coffee juices. Secure swipe card access and for lift at night, which was a good system. Parking you pay for. Friendly helpful staff.

Really nice hotel, park in the ncp round the corner as it's half the price. Hotel has a good bar and a good lounge on the second floor. Rooms were comfortable and staff were nice. There was building works going on, they started at 8am, however as a business traveller this did not affect me.

Fantastic stay beginning of the week. Excellent location, as access to the Station and town centre. Service was amazing and very friendly staff. Clean rooms and very spacious. Breakfast was good.

This hotel was really quirky. The decor at reception was really inviting and the reception staff were very welcoming . Our room was pretty basic but very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. There was tea, coffee and bottled water in our room on arrival and the reception team could not have been more helpful when we needed extra tea bags. The breakfast was excellent and of good quality and choice. We would definitely stay here again.

We liked the Pentahotel but the only issues we didn't like was the corridor along the floor we were on, it just looked shabby, the carpet looked dirty and worn, the walls and doors were marked and scuffed. The grey tones are too dark and dull. TV wasn't great but it done. No wardrobe in the room just a floor press and a bar on top of it for hanging clothes. Other than that the bed was very comfortable and the food was good, these 2 things are what matter to us. Service was prompt. Location to the city centre and train station very good, just a short walk. Lounge is great with the pool table, we enjoyed that. Reception is at the end of the bar. There's shuffleboard in the bar, and a dartboard. There's a 10% discretionary charge on meal and drinks bills so be aware and don't tip as well !!!! A few new carpets and a coat of paint and it would be so much better. Would still recommend as it's got a nice subtle ambience to it.

Room was dirty, dried blood on the carpet, felt grimy, window filthy, looked out over a carwash. TV remote worked 50% wallpaper coming off the bottom of the wall. Staff were miserable and noone smiled. Location for new st is fairly good. Not great.

1st time I stayed at this hotel was about 7 years ago, and I loved it. There were plenty toiletries available in individual little bottles to use, shower cap, slippers etc. The room was quiet!! Last Saturday I stayed over and I was extremely disappointed and unimpressed. The air conditioning was so loud, it was like having a washing machine in the room, I could not sleep. There was one bottle 5 in one, body wash, shampoo, hand wash, conditioner, toilet wash. I couldn't find a shower cap so I called reception, and I was told that they don't have it. The shower had half a door, so it was quite hard to shower without flooding the floor

we Really enjoyed staying here, the room is spacious. In terms of location it is perfect, close to everything you need and the decoration of the hotel is very nice😊😊

Lovely hotel, the rooms were good enough but in both my room (512) and a colleagues the air-con did not work so very hot at night. The bar area looks very nice and the staff were friendly. I booked it as it had a gym which was nice to be able to use.

I stayed for a night & was pleasantly surprised as I’d usually say at the radison if I’m coming into the city. Room was cozy, amazing shower that I was extremely impressed by. Some Hilton’s don’t even have that🤭 Staff, extremely welcoming & pleasant, the options they had for games also I loved. Darts with a virtual feel, pool and some next game which I can’t name. Options for food was good, not just your normal things. Slept like a baby & loved the late check out touch 🤝🏾 I’ll definitely be back soon, thank you again.

Great accommodation. Central, quiet and really well designed. The bar was great, food reasonably priced and bar games a great addition. Staff really friendly. Air con would be a nice to have in the heat, but overall a great hotel

3 stars are two too many for sure. A very low budget hotel that doesn't have air conditioning anywhere in the hotel or in your hotel room. The bathroom fan and the television doesn't work and the facilities are basic. Having to leave the bedroom window open means you will get very little sleep as its on a very busy and noisy roundabout. The young staff are lovely, no dramas there. I wouldn't stay here every again.

Location is good for getting to the city centre. Nice hotel but extremely overpriced; £8 for a CAN of Guinness is a joke and £18 for breakfast but you may as well get your moneys worth. Rooms are nice if a little stuffy with the hot weather.

Over priced and in need of improving. No way 4 star hotel. Never had 10% service charge added to a bar bill especially when being charged London price for drinks....

Very efficient hotel, check-in and check-out only taking a matter of seconds. Clean, spacious room in a great location. Can’t think of any negatives, excellent service for a great price.

One of the best hotels I stayed lately. Great location and friendly staff. Bed was very comfortable and I loved walk in shower. Drinks at the bar very a bit overpriced but apart from that I had a fantastic stay.

Lovely hotel, very funky and perfect for our 1 night stay in the city. Staff were great and our room was ready so we were able to check in early. The location was fantastic and walkable to and from the city center. Rooms were well furnished but needing a deep clean, while on the surface everything looked "ok" a closer look showed the chairs had a thick layer of hair and dust and the carpets needed a really good hoover, not enough to put me off but it would mean 5 stars

Downstairs areas are great, but rooms aren't good. Next door to my room were incredibly noisy and the walls are obviously very thin. I could hear every word. Carpet and furnishings in the room were stained and the cups were not properly clean. Not great.

This hotel has so much to offer and has the capability to be a lot better in my opinion. It's quirky. The bar and lounge are great. The rooms are a good size but I think it needs a bit of TLC. I've stayed there two times and likely to be more as I travel up to the Midlands, both the times the rooms had something or the other that needed looking after. A refresh of all rooms would do this hotel great service! Won't stop me from staying there again though. Location is good too.

The hotel is lovely, a lot of thought has gone in to the guests and their happiness; books, games etc. The rooms are sized with a lot of room and the beds extremely comfortable. The staff that we interacted with, were lovely and very professional. Great bar and menu, even has a whole section for Vegans. This is a chain and has other hotels in the UK and Europe. Definitely recommended 👌🏼

The lock on the room we'd initially been given didn't work. 2 attempts of a card and then watch reception staff mess with ig. We had to suggest moving us to another room. Staff talked amongst themselves. We didn't get conversation (rapport) let alone an apology. 3 out of the 5 staff we met have no idea what customer facing service/s is. Massively over priced for what it was. Both room (£140) and bar (20 +/- for two G&Ts). Air-con stuff in heat. Having left our room at c1600, we returned near midnight to find our room door had been left open by a member of staff. The person I spoke to the next day, believed to be Karen the manager, was not seemingly aware of my complaints.. advised to give her the day to investigate. I've not heard anything for 6 days. The hotel itself is in serious need of an overhaul. Carpets throughout are filthy. Walls dirty. Buttons missions from lift panels. Lifts internally have metal panels pulled away from walls. Room was bare. Some.liggts didn't work. Television precariously wall mounted. It turned itself off several times. Suffice to say, we won't be staying there again.

Let's do positives first: The staff are all really friendly and attentive. The public areas are all really cool, loved the shuffleboard and the digital darts. The bar downstairs and first floor are both great. The toilets in the bar were exceptionally clean. The room is a fair size, and quite cute with some quirky features. The shower is powerful, and roomy. The hand wash smells amazing. My room was very clean, and has a socket next to the bed. Black out curtains appreciated. It's not very far from China Town, around a 7 minute walk. So geographically, the location is good. They have a 3pm check out on Sundays which was a pleasant surprise! The negatives: My TV was very slow and often froze, so it was hard to just turn it on. It would then turn itself off, so I just gave up. The socket next to the mirror didn't work, so I couldn't see to do my hair. Quite a few stains on the bedroom carpet, and the bed was a bit too firm for me. It was also very creaky even just to sit down, it seemed like an old mattress. One of the lifts is out of service and I didn't feel particularly comfortable in the working one. It was quite small and rickety. I was on the 7th floor, and more often I climbed up and down the stairs. I got my steps in! The area isn't great, it's right next to a building site, and just not a very aesthetic area. It feels a bit sketchy. There's a garage and a londis close by, it's on a main road, but not one I'd feel safe at night on.

It was a nice stay. The room was clean and quiet. It's adequate for single traveler or just business trip. Staff at the reception was friendly and helpful. It's close to New Street Train station. Check out was easy and fast.

Great hotel couple of minutes walk from the centre of birmingham, decent room, free films on the TV. Full English breakfast was decent. Bar was nice, free pool table.

A nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The room was quiet and clean. Restaurant was great. Unfortunately there was construction work during my stay but the hotel was kind enough to allow me to cancel one night without any penalty.

Decent Hotel... amazing staff. Unfortunately our stay was met with security failer as no room key cards were working. A worker had to come and open our door every time we wanted to enter our rooms. Deffinately will be booking with them again. I hope the key card issue is resolved.

Nice room although the AC is noisey. Good staff and plenty to do here. They have pool and shuttle board in the bar area which is a nice atmosphere. Evening meal has good menu, although a little pricey. Breakfast is a simple continental with a few fried options at the side but could be a lot better.

Really enjoyed our stay here, rooms were spacious! Only downside was we had an empty hand-wash bottle in our room, we asked twice for it to be replaced but it never was, and the ceiling in the shower was mouldy. Location wise was perfect, close to everything you need and the decor of the hotel is really nice!

A fantastic hotel in a really good location. The rooms are very clean and tidy and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, fixing an issue I had with my room straight away. The restaurant had some high quality food which was really tasty. There are many games in the bar which can be used. The hotel breakfast had a good range of options both hot and cold, suitable for all tastes.

Need some refurbishing and love to revive the hotel. During our stay, 1 out of the 2 elevators were not working for the entire 3days and the bathroom water isn't consistent. That being said, the staff service was remarkable and very friendly. Also their breakfast spread was awesome.

From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Loved the informal check in at the bar. Decor was modern and clean. Value for money and a really great breakfast. Well done Penta BMH will certainly recommend 👍

Myself and my partner booked this hotel as part of our anniversary, as we were having a splurge for our meal out. We chose the Pentahotel for location and price. The hotel was positioned conveniently near the O2 academy and one of the main roundabouts in Birmingham. When we entered, we were greeted by the staff behind the bar who then checked us in. We were given our key and directed on where to go to access the room. The room had all the basic necessities and was clean and safe. It was quite spacious, allowing us all the room we need. The entire hotel had a vintage and rustic vibe, from the rotary telephone to the lighting options. We had a good night sleep and I would say it is good value for money!

I've been staying here for years. My visit last week was terrible. Sink blocked, shower was a light drizzle, water stained wall, mould in the shower, hair dryer didn't work kept shorting out when warm which was every other minute.... just terrible. Tried to call reception 3 times had to call from my mobile in the end which was eventually answered. No refund offered or even partial...the gentleman on reception Friday morning was however excellent though.

Shower was alright but could have done with more pressure. Ordered food and wanted to sub rice for chips and was charged £4 as "they come as a side". Couldn't be bothered to argue as was tired and hungry. Told manager in morning and he immediately refunded the £4 and promised to reeducate the staff member. Would stay again as a second chance.

Just a good hotel.in the centre of Brum. Very convenient for train (New Street), has parking, (when there's a strike!). Pool table and shuffle board thing in the foyer are great fun. Had a nice evening

  • 3/5 Rosalia H. 1 year ago on Google
The overall hotel is very cosy. The interior is very modern, classy and gives the feel of a luxury lounge experience. However, the hotel room itself was not cleaned enough before our visit as well as some lights and the heating not working. The beds themselves are very comfortable with a great blackout curtain. If you can look past these things about the bedroom, it is a welcoming place to stay.

  • 3/5 Emily G. 1 year ago on Google
Room was decent. Bed was extremely comfortable. Nice shower. Clean room. However only one light in the bathroom was working and it's quite pricey. Breakfast was good quality but paid £16 which I found unreasonable considering how expensive the bedroom was already.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel! Very modern and stylish. They were having building works done, which would have been nice to know about before arriving. However, they were very apologetic and accommodating and offered us complementary drinks upon arrival. The building work was due to start at 8am but, despite the warning, we weren't disturbed at all! The hotel lounge is lovely and the pool table and shuffleboard kept me and my 6 year old well entertained. A lovely stay and would definitely book again!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The decor was amazing (really swanky and unique). The staff were very nice and the room was well appointed and turned out. Couldn't ask for a nicer stay. Oh and the shower was AWESOME!
