We drove down to Birmingham and reached Premier inn at 11pm. During check in we was told we cannot have 3 people in one room. We asked for a solution but they said they were fully booked that night and told us to find another hotel for the 3rd person. The manager on site was so rude and did not understand at all. She said if one of us was under 18 she would’ve allowed us to sleep in one room! My friend was 19!! We went back and forth and try to look for other hotels nearby but everything was fully booked. We were willing to pay extra to allow the 3rd person in our room but still at 2 am she still refused to let us sleep. We ended up having 1 of us sleeping in the car and then swapping every 2 hours in the room. We had an event the next morning at 8 am and just needed a couple of hours of sleep in and the manager caused us so much stress so late at night after a 3 hour drive . The worst customer service I’ve had ever - a completely useless and arrogant manager that couldn’t actually manage to find a solution that worked for all of us!

Stayed for one night at this delightful Premier Inn Hotel, the staff are so welcoming and friendly. We booked an evening meal and breakfast meal deal which was perfect, the steak was a £2 supplement but it was one of the best steaks I've had for a long while, the chips were nice too,the cheesecake was a surprising delight too, and the sticky Toffee pudding was massive. The room was a good size, the bed comfortable, the shower did the job. We were able to leave a case at the hotel after checking out and collect it later in the day before travelling home. Would definitely stay here again if I return to Birmingham in the future.

This is a great premier inn, really well done out, big rooms and a nice restaurant area. Staff were great, really central to Birmingham. The bed was comfy, and it was a really good sized bathroom with a nice walk in shower, all very clean too. Good value.

Rooms, although rather small, are clean and comfortable. The location for the centre of Birmingham is brilliant. Service at reception on arrival was welcoming and adequate. We booked for breakfast, one for continental £7:99, another for a cooked meal£9:99. Next morning we found that breakfast was a free-for-all as to what to eat. We hadn't needed to book a cooked meal, no checks were made. That really set the scene for the breakfast room; no direction on where to sit, tables left uncleared, no help offered from nearby staff when someone struggled using the drinks machine. But apart from this, the food and selection was good. Overall, the hotel is good and I would use it again.

Hotel is tired and tatty and not particularly clean, there are no smoking facilities outside so there are 100's of cigarette butt's littered all around the entrance. I checked in on the Sunday evening and the receptionist was also the barman and waiter, the restaurant and bar is on the first floor. So many people trying to check in were waiting downstairs for ages with no note to say report to bar, so a lot of annoyed guests. The staff were friendly but not enough of them to attend to guests needs promptly. No parking so a walk away from nearest car park. Bar area very small and not very clean, badly planned space

I hate hotels with no parking. Room noisy S needed windows open for cool air. Too hot. Air con didn't work. Breakfast was very good. Met with a smile. Food hot. Toaster slow. Coffee very good. Booking in was super easy. excellent. Good night staff. Loads of hot water but naff shower curtain so room was a swimming pool by the time i had showered. Did i mention I hate hotels with no parking?

Room was comfortable but no hot water. Manager worked hard to resolve the issue successfully and we received 2 complementary breakfasts although we only took up one of them. The engineer involved needs to be more honest about all the hot water issues and not send the Manager a message (which I was shown) stating that hot water was available on all floors - that was untrue. The rest of the staff were helpful and hard working which made the stay very pleasant.

Stayed for one night only but found it to be perfect for our needs. Received a friendly welcome, checking in was simple and quick. The room was of adequate size very clean and everything we needed was provided. Had a great night sleep bed was so comfortable. Stayed for breakfast food was very tasty and yet again the staff were all friendly and interactive. Was a walk from New St Station but great location if using the utilita arena as we were.

This hotel is below the typical Premier Inn standard. The rooms are small, with no air-conditioning which makes the room very hot, even when the temperature is below average. When we arrived our second-floor room at the front of the hotel had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, not sure if this was from a previous occupier smoking in the room or from people smoking out the front of the hotel, thankfully reception quickly changed our room to another second floor but on the canal side. The only downside of this was the noise from many people walking up the canal and the pubs. The room was pretty clean and had a good shower, not much space though to hang or store clothes. It’s a good location to visit Birmingham and but we would not stop at this one again.

Google listing is inaccurate, this hotel doesn't have air conditioning. Staying at the end of the recent heat wave was a sweaty and unpleasant experience. Staff tried their best, provided a desk fan (too noisy to leave on when trying to sleep), lighter bedding (useless when the room temperature was 30°) and the windows don't open enough to make any difference. Worst nights sleep in a long time. Saving graces were a good location and helpful staff, but don't stay there in warm weather.

Second reviews, like I stated before accommodation and cleanliness were of the highest standard and the staff accommodating at all times. However, there were two staff that appearances needed to be addressed by management the First Lady front of house need to ensure that when you are representing a company personal hygiene and appearance are paramount, as you are serving the public. The second lady front of the housing in the dining room also needed to address her appearance and more importantly leave her personal belongings in her locker and not displayed in her boots. The cigarette box in her black boots is not ideal and therefore does not give a good impression of the company she is advertising. I believe that once these areas have been addressed there will be no more reviews regarding these matter. By the way way just to let you know and understand I am at front of house three days a week so I know what I am talking about

Fine for the price, been a while since I used a Premier Inn. The thing that struck me the most was that milk for cereal, tea, etc. was in an enormous jug. How an older or less fit person was supposed to handle such a large jug, I estimate it contained at least 6 pints of milk, had clearly not been thought about. Plus it was placed behind other jugs of equal size. Yes people could ask for assistance but you shouldn't really need to for some milk for your tea. Otherwise room was clean, location was good and breakfast was fine.

Great Hotel, Comfortable Bed, Amazing Location. Perfect Hotel! Also had the breakfast which was 10/10. Quick mention to the Hotel manager "Chit" who was helpful with questions and queries. Excellent customer service from him. So I'd like to thank him in this review. 👍🏼

Actually one of the best premier inns I’ve stayed in 1. Don’t need to put your card in a slot for the lights 2. The window actually opens 3. Staff are truly so caring and delightful amazing service!

This is pretty average even by Premier Inn standards. The site is dated, the rooms small and feature basic decoration and furniture. The bathrooms are small and needing an update. Breakfast was fine if not spectacular. The site only has disabled parking. Several nearby car parks either don’t offer public access or have closed down. The nearest recommended by the hotel is a good 10 min walk. The location is good for central restaurants

Be aware there is no air conditioning/cooling in the rooms, while bearable in the spring, it would be horrendous in the summer. Quite noisy, doors bang and walls are thin, lots of stag/hen parties at the weekends. Breakfast was ok, and beds are comfortable.

I was very surprised at how bad the room was in this hotel. Cramped is an understatement, I pulled out the chair and it hit the bed, hardly any space at all. The bathroom was ok, the water was not very hot in the shower. No air-conditioning, a fan was provided. The staff were very nice, the restaurant was ok if it wasn't raining I would have gone elsewhere. The canal is your view when dining but you can hardly see it during the night, breakfast was cold and not very appealing even at 7am. Very dated Premier Inn, rooms need a big upgrade. It's 2023, Terrestrial TV is boring and I missed using my streaming services as I couldn't plug in my HDMI adapter to the TV which you can do at every other Premier Inn I've stayed in. Saving grace was the usual big comfortable bed and it is 5 minutes from the ICC venue.

Location, very handy for most of the places I wanted to go but some of the buildings a bit run down around it, car park and way in to the car park needs some love, make it a bit more welcoming and some signage. Service was outstanding at every point, especially the two younger ladies on check in day (Monday about 1700) they deserve a pat on the back at least. Room, first room (your getting the idea 😀). Was clean and tidy, however, no hot water. Reception was brilliant as above, swapped me to another room. Second room was clean but little things needed doing, hook off bathroom door snapped off and missing, TV remote was snapped and held together with a screw, little things.

Staff was amazing very helpful and accommodating. Made the stay even better. Definitely would want to come back in the future. Especially Michelle and Bernie, really made this first trip to Birmingham worth it, very friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much bother. Room was lovely, very clean, close to catch public transport like the buses and trains close to the shopping centre.

Good hotel and friendly staff with a nice cooked breakfast but let down by the lack of any onsite car parking. The photo showing cars parked outside is somewhat deceptive

Perfect location for centre, staff were fantastic and lady in reception in particular worked so hard, she also helped in the restaurant. For the price it is good value, for a higher quality hotel with better facilities etc the Hyatt is close by but this served our needs perfectly. Staff great, rooms clean and as expected, breakfast was good. Lots of parking nearby, the hotel details do make it clear than no parking is on site. We got what we paid for, good value.

The shower in particular was fantastic. The noise levels in the hotel were kept to a minimum, the hotel room was lovely and clean, I had a good night's sleep. I didn't have breakfast there so I can't comment on how that was. The reception staff were friendly, they didn't seem interested in engaging in conversation but didn't bother me much. I have stayed here before and I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Clean rooms, professional staff and quiet. Probably the best located Premier Inn close to the centre as its quiet and family friendly. Others are next to bars etc. No parking but plenty available on the same road with Just park. Breakfast is spot on, will definitely come again. Book in advance as expensive at short notice

Very clean room with comfy beds. Reception staff and dining room staff were very welcoming and helpful. Great breakfast. Our son, who is in a wheelchair, was treated very well, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent stay, we have already booked to go back.

Good location, the canal basin is a nice area. Standard bed and room so comfortable. Shower and bathroom looked like recently refurbished and we’re good. Baylis and Harding shower gel instead of those old flat panel dispensers. Breakfast was the usual affair. All good. No air con tho so maybe not one for summertime.

Lovely big bed and amazing shower. Bathroom was spotless (VERY important to me) Blackout curtains allowed us to have a lie in this morning. Reception staff Monday night (10/10/22) were really friendly on our return. One star deducted because the room was pretty small and would have been a nightmare had we taken suitcases instead of overnight bags. Would recommend for an overnight stay.

Service was excellent and staff extremely courteous and very pleasant. Have they in larger Premier Inns, but can appreciate the premium of space in the city centre. Regarding location, I can't understand why the parking location recommended on the website is notorious for car break ins and vandalism when there are much more secure locations nearby.

Everything you can expect for the price and you get that bit more for your money. The reception staff were very attentive and the asian gentleman was exceptionally kind with the good service. The staff should all be proud of their hard work as haven't seen such good service in 5 star hotels!! Keep it up guys and wish you all the best. Thanks guys.

Loved it. Reception staff extremely welcoming and smiling. Always nice to see. Beds were comfy as expected for a Premier. We didn't stay long in the morning but had a good night's sleep.

Very central, only 5 minutes walk to New Street Station, hotel was clean tidy and quiet with a nice view over the canal. Staff were pleasant and room was comfortable. Good night's sleep achieved.

Really good premier inn, staff were all brilliant. Room clean and well equipped. Good breakfast and great location. No parking on site but that's normal for city centre hotels. There's a car park 5 mins walk away only £8 per day

Very much the Premier Inn standard I've come to expect. Staff really pleasant, the room was very clean and nice and quiet. An urban canal view from the window was nice. It is a little tucked away so not the easiest to find on foot from New Street Station but I can probably blame Google Maps for that 😂.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel on 30/12/21. The check in was easy. Our room was clean and comfortable Breakfast the following morning was a lovely experience. Food was very well cooked and plentiful but the real gem for the hotel is a lovely lady called Joyce who looked after us very well in the restaurant. She is a real credit to the hotel. Overall an excellent stay. Close to all that Birmingham has to offer I.e theatres, good restaurants.

I stayed in the hotel last night. Really good location and next to the canal. The room was great and the shower was fantastic Speaking of the shower. Unfortunately I had broken the shower head. I was very upset and informed the staff member immediately. She was very understanding and made me feel a bit more at ease given the situation. I’ve stayed a lots of hotels and I’ve never broken anything in my life. It was just a silly mistake that I made The following morning I informed a staff member again, who was also very understanding. I gave a chocolate bar just to say sorry. I would definitely stay again All staff were lovely Very sorry premier inn team!!
