Comfortable room with all the expected amenities. Well situated for the centre of the city. Qamber was a fantastic host and very welcoming on our arrival. He answered all our questions about the city including tips on public transport. Only complaint is the building being rather outdated, definitely in need of an update to keep up with the standard of other Travelodge locations.

Stayed here one night for an early business meeting. Good location but right next to a lot of pubs and clubs which unfortunately affected my sleep. Hotel generally worn and a bit tatty and only one lift was working. Rooms cleared to a good standard and carpet recently replaced which was good to see. I would stay here again if the price was right but would definitely try and get a room on the otherside.

Staff were brilliant. Rooms are spacious and clean if a little tired. The location is very central, even more so now that the metro extension to Edgbaston is open. That central location, combined with a very old building does mean that it is quite noisy, even in the rooms at the back of the building. It is relatively cheap though!

Looking rather shabby nowadays, definitely needs a tidy up. Only 2 lifts to service the hotel. Ideal as a base for a night on the town. Make sure when you request extra pillows that you wait and take them upstairs to your room straight away. We asked for ours at 7pm, my partner went back to the room and asked again at around 8pm. When we got back to our room at 1245 they weren't there so another trip to reception waited approx 20min for housekeeping to come to the room

We booked here as it's very close to Symphony Hall where we were going to a concert and within walking distance of New Street Station. The receptionist had put us on the 8th floor where it was meant to be quieter but she put us in room 801, RIGHT next to the lift mechanism on the top floor! We didn't sleep a wink, the lift was constant, like water torture! Between that, the bottles emptying into bins at the end of the night down on the street and nightclub goers shrieking and shouting, it was the worst night we've ever had in a hotel. However, the manager moved us to the 4th floor when I asked the next morning, and I slept like a log the second night! My partner didn't though, for my snoring!! The rooms are spotless, the staff are lovely. It's a very popular area for clubs and pubs, so the noise outside was through no fault of the hotel. I don't suppose any of the staff has noticed the sound of the mechanism of the lifts, so I don't blame them at all. But please, leave room 801 empty, make it into a laundry room! Just don't put folk in there who need a quiet night!

Should be shut down. It may be cheap, but you’d probably be just as comfortable spending a night on the streets. Not only is the building miserable and grotty, but it would appear to be directly above a nightclub which will have your bedroom shaking until (in our case) about 6am. Genuinely one of the most uncomfortable and unpleasant nights of my life.

Nice, clean and quiet room in a good location. The staff were very nice and helpful. There was no soap in the soap dispenser and one of the lifts was out of order which meant people had to wait really long if they needed to go up.

Great location with a tram stop outside. Just your typical travelodge, clean and friendly. Room is nice and big as well as the bathroom. My only complaint would be that there was no plug sockets next to the beds, if this is important you should bring an extension cable. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

Generally everything was perfect. A towel was stained and there seemed to be a makeup stain at the foot of the bed but otherwise it was a very comfortable room. One thing that did bother me a lot, and was not a fault of the hotel, was the constant car horns from about 1am to 5am

Good location, close to bars and bus stops. A very large, clean room. Quite basic but good value for the price and location.

Location excellent for night out however if this is not what you’ve come for DO NOT STAY HERE! Taxis honking horns from 1am-4am. Had other guests playing loud music and screaming until 6am. I complained and got told this is normal and would give me 20% off next time. Have not received any voucher. Unless you are on a night out AVOID THIS HOTEL.

Top staff who sorted us out big time. I recommend this hotel for staying in brum especially if you want to be close to the nightlife! We saw Kendrick Lamar and they were brilliant late at night too!

Rarely leave bad reviews but this place is awful/ in desperate needs of a refurb. Carpets completely worn through and decor is terrible. Feels like a cheapo hostel. Saved by great staff and a decent mattress. Don't bother with the in a bag breakfast it's terrible. Also woken up early in morning by adjoining pubs chucking bottles into bins

So many poor reviews and I understand. We paid Β£40 a night over a weekend in a prime location. There are lots of bars and restaurants nearby, so yes of course it can get noisy but it's also a 2mins walk home after a night out. Clean sheets, clean towels, warm rooms but a fan is in the room if you need one. Nice and comfy beds and extra pillows if you need. It's as simple and basic as it comes but you get what you pay for. Staff are immense, so friendly and on hand to help. Highly reccomend.

I was perfectly happy with my stay here in terms of the hotel - I found the staff friendly and helpful, room was clean, kettle with tea and coffee provided, towels and bedding clean, shower worked fine. It's basic yes but that's why it's cheap! My only complaint, which is out of the hotels hands, is the noise. I'm a deep sleeper and generally not too bothered by noise but after the local clubs closed, there was still so much honking of cars, smashing of bottles into giant bins over and over, from 2am onwards, waking me constantly. So if you are a light sleeper, if you really will need a good sleep that night, I'd have to seriously suggest you stay in a different location. That said, it was very local to where I needed to be and I would certainly consider staying here again - but I'll bring earplugs!!

This was the second time that we had stayed here for an event at the ICC just across the road. Was easy to find parking just down the road. Also we bought our breakfast from the Sainsburys just across the road. Staff were friendly. Room was very good - looks like they have put in new carpets recently.

Nice hotel, very clean, beds very comfortable, staff polite and helpful. The only bad mark was that the USB ports didn't work. We had phone chargers, but with the lack of sockets it meant unplugging kettle, or tv to charge phones.

Great location, tired hotel and rooms and only one lift working. Rooms could be cleaner and the cleanliness of the hotel is questionable. Noise from broad Street for us staying on the second floor was unbearable at times. Was kept awake most of the night so pack ear plugs. Location is great though, parking across the road at Brindley Place

Slept like a baby on the seventh floor. Location very good for New Street station though you'll have to get a tram or , as I did, walk. Would definitely stay here again.

I was staying the night at this hotel with 9 other people from my company. All were happy with their rooms although a couple stated they had trouble sleeping due to being on the street side which was very loud. It is right on the street with clubs etc so would expect some noise. Location wise it's perfect, so close to everything. I was initially checked into a room that wasn't made up, however when telling the person at the desk this, they immediately gave me another room. The customer service was great and the rooms are a really good size. Will definitely book again.

Noisy outside from midnight to 5am barely slept but room was great, location was ideal and the pillows and bed was comfy. The noise just ruined it for us

Hotel rooms freezing cold. Met people in lift saying same thing. Very lightweight summer duvet did not help. Reception had same heaters and also had fan heaters going which speaks volumes Stayed 9 nights room not cleaned once!!!!!! Only towels and tea/milk replaced. SO COLD. Wi-Fi spasmodic. Had to change room to get signal.

I was here with my friend who is a wheelchair user so we had an accessible room, wasnt too bad! The staff were very with everything! Whist staying here the fire alarm went off (someone's hot shower set it off) so we didn't have to leave but the staff can to make sure and check we were all good! Location was a bit of a distance for some places we had planned (walkable but long) but the metro being so close was extremely helpful so we made it work! Near ikon gallery and some great restaurants though! Didnt get the names of the helpful staff but thank you! We were staying 3rd to 5th April! Only problem was I couldn't work the hot water for the shower!

Great location for everything, train station and food places for eating out weatherspoons next door which is great place. Only one complaint I had to staff is there was some hell of a noise during the night all the time Squeaking Staff said its the cladding on the building because of the wind which kept me awake all night I think that needs serious attention and maintenance team looking at it.

I was in room 717. Hot water tap fell off, but that didn't matter because there was no hot water. No one says anything, you need to go and ask - was told they don't know when it would be fixed. I don't normally write reviews but I needed to here. Curtains don't close properly, so the always-on lights of the adjacent hotel provided an extra challenge getting to sleep - I thought I might get a sunburn with all the light coming into the room. Lastly, the hours sleep I did get was short lived! There is a nightclub right downstairs so when I danced myself awake, I couldn't get back to sleep. Its so loud, you can make out the lyrics. I was on the 7th floor! Absolute bangers though, fair play to the club - I'm sure everyone enjoyed their night, but I didn't. If you want to sleep, don't come here. Absolutely avoid at all costs.

As basic as expected, room was a very nice size. Although I do take my own there was no soap in the shower or sink area. Not the fault of the hotel but I was woke multiple times by other rooms on the 6th floor as it sounded like they were having an all night party.

Staff pleasant and welcoming. Unpleasant smell in corridor. Room very spacious. Bed very uncomfortable. Very noisy, was unable to sleep because of outside street noise. Had to keep window open as it was very hot. Would not stay here again!! πŸ˜’

The room was a good size, very clean, and included the basics for a single night's stay. Surprisingly comfortable bed, and the tea/coffee tray made the morning a lot easier to deal with.

Staff were very friendly and super helpful! The room and bathroom were a very nice size and very clean. Its only a short walk to the library, grand Central and the bull ring and there's a few pubs and bars on the same street for the evening. However, both taps in the bathroom sink were very hot taps and the bed was incredibly squeaky. The lifts were very rickety and having the reception number taped inside definitely didn't fill me with confidence but we didn't get stuck so thats a plusπŸ˜‚ Also due to all the construction around I was woken up rather early, however thats not the fault of the hotel. All in all I was happy with the stay, and for what you pay I think its worth it. I would stay again 😊

This is my second time and the problem is the same, sharp paining noises that buzzed more like a fire alarm coming from outside. I don’t know whether a generator causing it or something else. I had a very rough night, I barely slept due to the noise. Beside this everything was fine, hospitable staffs and clean room. I hope this could help have their attention in improving this problem i.e. soundproof windows or something that prevents this noises.

This travel lodge has to be the worst TL I have stayed in. The bathroom was dirty, the room was basic, as expected but no plug sockets anywhere near the bed. The room has no phone down to the reception which would have come in useful when the room next to us started to physically fight at 4am in both the hall and their room. We were, therefore, unable to inform the security guard at the reception. Where this hotel is situated is right on the stip of pubs, while the noise outside was minimal, the hotel attracts hens parties and people on the lash, which is fine until they come back, screaming in the hallways and fighting in their rooms. This was not a place to stay if you want a good night sleep.

Nightlife noise and bottle buns will keep you up all night if your window is open. But massive room for the price, No sockets by the bed… Moved the bed across the room no problem. Very basic but absolutely did the job.

By far the worst hotel experience of my entire life. I'm not one to usually leave reviews but this place is absolutely grim, the whole place looks like it hasn't had any upkeep since the 1960's, the bed is like sleeping on a slab of concrete and the external noise... well if you're looking for a good nights sleep you'd be better off sleeping on the train tracks

This is a budget hotel so my review is based on value for money and for what we paid this was an exceptional hotel. The lady that checked us in was very friendly and professional, I've stayed in 5* hotels with less customer service skills than this. Well done Travelodge.

All the staff seemed nice & friendly. Had a room booked for two nights, on the second day we came back to our room around mid day to grab a jumper and head back out in to the Birmingham to find that all our stuff had been taken out of our room (they hadn't cleaned the room or removed any rubbish from it).... Went to reception and they said they couldn't find our booking so have taken all our stuff out, showed them a conformation booking on my phone. Apparently there was a mix up with whoever checked us in... Gave us our stuff back then we had to unpack all over again! Not the best of experiences.
