The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Strong smell of weed as you enter the lobby. Prostitutes walking up and down the stairs with their next victim. My sons room had a bed that was full of mouldy sheets. My first room was not cleaned (empty pizza boxes and bottles of wine) finally got another room which was a dark dingy dungeon type room. There were 2 x buckets of dirty used fryer oil outside the door which stank the place out. The carpets weren’t fitted properly leaving sharp nails sticking out. Wallpaper hanging off the walls. Refused to stay (obviously). Couldn’t get a refund as they had already processed it (lies but couldn’t be bothered with them anymore). Phoned to complain about 30 times but a manager is never working. Have emailed their head office 10 times including sending videos and pictures of the dire mess of a hotel but no response. Apparently their head office don’t have a phone number either. Chance of a refund are zero with this company Absolute joke of a hotel. Stay there at your own risk to your health

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Wallpaper has been ripped from some of the walls, and no attempt has been made to redecorate. While i stayed there someone went through my luggage. I always leave things in a certain way. A piece of jewelry went missing. The hotel staff were not very friendly. I asked about a place to go for food and was told the take away only opened in the evenings. Then on leaving the building discovered that there was a McDonald's within easy view of the hotel. I needed an extension lead for medical equipment, which they could not supply because the electrical sockets were the other side of the room. The first night there was an argument between several men and a woman. I feel this place is used as an under cover brothel. The toilet did not flush and was not attended to. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone that wishes to have a relaxing night, as some of the bed springs could be felt. I ended up sleeping on the floor as it was far more comfortable. The atmosphere would have been good as it is a Victorian place, but the management who have taken this place over, have let it go to the pits.

This place should come with a Bio Hazard sticker as a souvenir or on entry 🤔. Dirty, disgusting and zero stars from us. Our review is not based on personal experience but that of a young family housed there by the Local Government as a "Temporary Solution" to their housing need. Almost 12 months later and 2 trips to the doctors for treatment of mysterious bites we can safely say avoid... at all costs as a paying customer. Its a disgrace that families are being put here and the place should be shut down.

It is in desperate need of upgrading. And when I booked it I asked if the rooms were wheelchair accessible and was told yes. No its not. 3 flights of stairs to my room. Good job my daughter didn't have to come with me! I definitely wouldn't stay here again. Only good thing is staff were friendly.

I'd specified I needed disabled access when I booked but on arrival we found our room was on the second floor and there is no lift. We were offered another room on the first floor and given the key so we could have a look before deciding. As it was getting late and we had plans for the evening we could really do without the hassle of trying to find another place to stay, so we went to have a look. There were 2 bedrooms, lounge and bathroom. The whole place could look very nice with some work and a lot of TLC, but it is very run down, wallpaper hanging off the ceiling, glass broken in the window, only 2 of the lights worked. Very basic, old fashioned (but not in a good way), just very shabby and in need of a good clean. We went back to reception and explained that my disabled son would not be able to get up the stairs. To be fair the guy was very reasonable and tried to get us a room at another hotel nearby but he couldn't contact them. He said I would have to cancel the booking or I would be charged and seemed to be very understanding of our situation by waiving the cancellation fee. When we left a couple who arrived at the same time as us came down to reception and explained they were not going to stay as the room was too dirty. The guy also advised them to make sure they cancelled their booking to avoid being charged. He didn't seem phased by it at all and offered no apology. Although I completely agree with this couple, I have always thought if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. For that reason I've tried to be as fair as I can to the hotel but I have to say I've never seen anything like this. It's such a shame because it could (and maybe one did) look very rich and elegant. Currently it's not somewhere I would ever consider staying and wouldn't be able to recommend it.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This inn is an abomination. There are a myriad of issues with this establishment, it should not be made accessible to the public. Those pregnant or with children steer clear. Upon arrival my friends and I noticed many red flags in which we decided to ignore. The door was weak and rickety, there was no modern lock only a chain lock. it could easily be broken into or opened from the outside. In our room there were no windows, this gave the room a very musty old smell, almost as if someone had died in there. There was no source of natural sunlight or breeze. There was only a large mirror where a window would be... it made me feel very uneasy as if it was a two way mirror. The whole room did not make sense and felt like a health and safety hazard The surfaces were dusty, the furniture was outdated and the flooring was uneven, made noises and the carpeting was ill-fitting. This left parts of the floor boards exposed and was unattractive all together. The shower head was held together with tape and there was no other toiletries but tissue paper. The final atrocity experienced was the bedding. I am absolutely shocked, disgusted and traumatised to this very day to know that we were sharing a bed with BED BUGS. we slept long enough that my dear friend was bitten all over her arms legs and face. She is currently seeking treatment for the adverse reactions she is experiencing. When we confronted management their effort to offer some sort of redress was non existent. Other than administering a full refund that we had to ASK for. There was no sort of apology, compensation or alarm when we raised issues about their bed bug issue or the poor room standard. It was as if they didn't care, and were unbothered about our complaints. The receptionist even denied the possibility of there being bed bugs I responded with videos of the crawling insects all over the sheets. Unfortunately all evidence of this APPALLING premises was taking in video format in which I cannot share on here. But I promise you, DO NOT COME TO THS INN, unless you like having no wifi, sleeping with insects, breathing in unventilated stuffy air and bathing with a broken shower head.

Can't even give it half a star! I've stayed in some rough places but Birmingham Best Inn Hotel has to be the worst! They charged me twice. Told me parking on the pavement outside was ok, I believe there may even be parking round the back but it wasn't mentioned. The old guy on reception then laughed heartily when I got a parking ticket. I opened the window and the smell of weed nearly killed me. I then couldn't shut it again! I had to move the bed away from the wall to avoid the grease stains from someone else's head. Couldn't touch the tea stuff, the teaspoon stuck to my finger when I picked it up. The best thing that could happen to this place is that it's knocked down. It's a shame because someone has clearly made a huge effort with this place 40 odd years ago...and not cleaned or decorated since.

The heating of the room is awful. At night, the boilers are turned off. The room light is constantly turned off. It has very few features. Privacy is not respected and staff enter the room without notice. There is no observance for covid 19 at all.

Seen the Shining enough times to know that we shouldn't have stayed. The room we didn't even sleep in was musty, the bath tub was full of bugs and the tiles on the floor were cracked to bits. The window had hand prints smeared down it (likely from the last unsuspecting victims who spend the night..). My partner and I stayed up all night because of the horrible noises and the bedbugs didn't make it any more inviting. Our band mates shower flooded and dripped through a light on the floor below and the cupboards looked like somewhere you'd expect to find a body hanging. This hotel should be condemned or exorcised at least. Very scary!!

Where to start?! This hotel must surely be breaching health & safety regulations. The place looks awful from the outside with an extremely dodgy car park at the back which isn't even sign posted, full of old broken beds and chairs. Right next to 2 fast food places so lots of cars parked out the front, difficult to park. The lobby wasn't too bad but very deceiving in relation to the hotel. We tried 3 different rooms and ended up leaving without paying. The building is massive, very difficult to locate the rooms and the signs to the rooms are just laminated pieces of paper, how professional! Each room got worse as we went on and the corridors were filled with water damage, missing light bulbs, manky carpets, graffiti and dodgy looking electrics. The rooms were dirty, with old battered furniture, you could feel the springs in the mattresses, the wallpaper was coming off the walls, the carpet didn't fit the rooms, carpet gripper spikes visible, and some of the windows didn't shut properly. I could go on.... Do NOT stay here. Not even worth the cheap deal. You'd have to pay me to stay here.

Lovely and accommodating hosts, but the facilities need a HUGE upgrade! Old, substandard rooms, but decent and clean bathroom. This was once a very lovely building. Needs everything upgraded and refitted but is a cheap place in Birmingham, and safe - so if price is the main consideration, this would do. Also, right next to a McDonald's and another food place, so you don't need to go far if you're hungry "after hours."
