2nd visit to this hotel, rooms are a mini apartment with basics provided that you can pay to upgrade if required. Service from reception is excellent. Main thing about this hotel though is the location (literally towering over the Bullring Shopping Centre) & the views over Birmingham are amazing, especially at night. Perfect for the money, cannot fault anything & would definitely stay again & recommend.

The flats are needing a bit of TLC - but the amenities are nice and the view too. Quite loud on this side day or night but if you are not bothered it is amazing!

It’s all about the little touches here - I particularly liked the ‘squeezing fresh’ note in the fruit bowl explaining that the fresh fruit was in the fridge awaiting juicing - a fab idea! The views here are outstanding and the location is right in the centre of Birmingham. The interiors are quirky and really well equipped - we stayed in the two bedroom apartment on the 20th floor, which also comes with a living room, workspace and kitchen.

Cozy studio, great for longer stays in the city. The location is the best part as it is in the middle of the city centre. It has an incredible view of the mall and all the amenities one needs.

Fantastic stay at Staying Cool at Rotunda. Amazing apartment for the price of a hotel room. Lots of amenities. Great kitchen and bathroom. Stunning views that change from day to night. A unique experience!

Once again, the amazing team at Staying Cool have given us another fantastic stay here. For nearly four weeks, Gavin, Claire, Precious and the rest of the team have gone the extra mile to make sure our holiday was amazing. We have stayed here many times, and have yet to run out of superlatives. From the many thoughtful little touches in the room, the friendly staff, to what could well be the best cityscape views in England, from starting the day with the always fresh oranges to finishing the evening with the delicious hot chocolate, it really is the best place to stay in Birmingham.

had a totally horrific experience last weekend, which was completely ruined by the member of staff, who refused to provide her name, at the hotel reception. last weekend was an unusually hot weekend for September and we realised the hotel has no air conditioning, which is shocking in itself. its rare to come across any 3* and above hotel, anywhere in the world that does not have air con. we politely expressed our concerns with the reception staff, who also claimed she was the manager and she said that the hotel can offer an extra manual fan or cancel our stay. i said i had no reason at this point to cancel the stay but she was pushing this and it seemed like she really wanted us to cancel. i picked her up on this and this is where her attitude changed to something me and my wife were left totally baffled and shocked at the experience. Me and my wife wanted to stay out and have time away from our kids and we were forced to leave the hotel simply because this reception staff could not provide basic customer service. I will now never stay at this hotel again as my hard earned money should be more valued elsewhere

Well, what can I say, an absolutely bang on 5 star stay and service from the staff. Stayed for our anniversary. Had originally booked the mini studio which was already bigger than majority of rooms in the city but on an arrival we got upgraded to the penthouse. Rooms were clean and tidy also very tastefully decorated with a cool sixties vibe. Bean to coffee machine and fruit juicer in the kitchen an additional bonus. Veiw of the city was exceptional this was ramped up at night fall which was captivating and would of been the same regardless of room choice. From the outside the building does look a tad tired, but certainly not the case on the inside.

The building is very easy to get to from Birmingham New Street station, within a minute walking distance The building is well maintained, reception staff were very helpful The room however needs to be cleaned better. You can see some dirt and stain in the bathroom. The shower really needs something to prevent the water from flooding the bathroom I do like the extra facilities they add to the room like automatic coffee machine and fresh oranges Excellent view, just don't open the window if you're not brave, you can really just fall through... to the roof below

I really really wanted to like my stay at The Rotunda as I've heard so many great things about it, but unfortunately the experience was lacking in every aspect. My television wasn't working and the staff wasn't able to help with this, therefore, I resorted to just using my laptop. At midnight, my wifi cut off and asked me to re-enter the codes. It wouldn't allow me to log back in and kept making me click the 'get online' button yet brought me nowhere. I ended up having to use my data hotspot for the rest of my stay, which made meetings really tough. While the location is extremely prime as it is literally two steps from Bullring, it's also really awkward because no vehicles can access the front door, meaning if you order Deliveroo, you will have to go on a hunt for your courier! Also, taxis won't be able to stop right outside the building, meaning you will have to walk a few minutes, which defeats the purpose of a taxi... However, this would be prime for shopping lovers, as it's easy to pop back up to your hotel room and drop off your bags before heading out again etc. For some reason, it felt like my windows weren't closed properly, even though I've unlatched and latched again multiple times. It got so windy and noisy at night that it sounded like a helicopter was outside! There were also stains on my bedsheets and duvet, which was definitely not a great impression. Lastly, the amenities are quite limited. No toothbrush nor toothpaste - only shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner. In terms of the in-room snacks, they're a great selection but I realised - after opening one bag - that they already went past their Best Before Date!! I was really looking forward to the Chocolate Raspberry, but they tasted of laundry detergent? Not sure if it's because its been in the fridge for too long. Things like the toaster and the juicer looked quite dirty which put me off using it. All in all, I'm sure a lot of the cons weren't deliberate, but it surely needs a bit of fixing and TLC. Things like bed cleanliness, Wi-fi and a working television is honestly basic and really shouldn't be compromised. These are the things that will pull me from wanting to ever stay in an apart-hotel versus a hotel again...

Beautiful, clean, comfortable, very warm, quiet!!! The staff is friendly! Pets are allowed, which brought us here! Beautiful furniture! The bathroom is spacious! There is everything you need: Shampoo, gel, hair dryer, soap. There is a kettle, water, tea and coffee in the room.

We had a fantastic stay recently at Staying Cool. The apartment was perfect and had everything we needed. We were there for business and couldn't have picked a better place to base ourselves. We had also booked rooms for two VIPs who were both thrilled with their accommodation. A special thanks to Tracey, Gavin and all the Staying Cool team.

My wife and I recently visited Birmingham for a weekend break to catch up with friends. We normally stay elsewhere but decided to give Staying Cool a try as we happened to be driving up and saw an offer that included free parking. The Good: - Location is ideal. - Views are fantastic. - Staff were great. - Comfy bed. - Room was clean, although some elements were looking a tad worn. The Bad: - Room had a faint smell of stale cigarettes which wasn’t very pleasant and carried home on our clothes. We arrived after 10pm so reception was closed other than a security guard who had been left our key, so we just decided to try to ignore it. Very surprising in this day and age. - I’ve never seen such a poorly designed shower. The space is small and the glass partition only extends half way, so every time my wife or I showered the bathroom floor got absolutely soaked. Not ideal. - Poor soundproofing. We actually left early because of constant loud repetitive bass coming from another room on our final day. - The getting there by car instructions on the website don’t make allowances for arriving after The Bullring closes for the evening. The only way out of the car park if arriving after that time is to walk up the exit road that cars take, and we had to find our own way from there. Fortunately we know central Birmingham quite well, but if it had been our first visit we would have struggled. All things considered, it was a disappointing stay. The location is hard to beat, but even then I don’t think we’d stay again - attention to detail is lacking, and a room that smells like stale cigarettes is unforgivable in 2022.

Had an amazing stay! I was lucky to stay on 19th floor which offered amazing views of the city, really special. All the staff - night time arrival at 11pm and checkout in the morning - were lovely. The rooms are very modern and cosy, with everything you need and also very cool items for breakfast - made myself a homemade orange and grapefruit juice!

We stayed here for our anniversary, the staff where kind enough to upgrade our stay and even made the effort to make the room look special for us. Great customer service, easy access to everything, very clean. Will definitely be staying here in the future, would highly recommend

So iv stayed in some fantastic hotels before but this one tops any of them by a mile. Slight complication over the room but it was no problem they just upgraded and moved us. Lovely staff. The view is stunning. I’m laying in bed with a massive open window on the 19th floor watching birds fly below me. It’s absolutely ruddy fantastic

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Staying Cool! The view of the city is incredible and everything is so well considered - from the stylish art and cool design of the room, to the snacks like the dark chocolate raspberries and the very friendly staff, I felt so relaxed and at ease in the hotel. Highly recommend!

I visit Birmingham every couple of weeks and usually stay at city centre hotels, but I thought I'd try the Rotunda on one of my trips - I absolutely didn't regret it! You're a couple of minutes from New Street Station which is so convenient. I was a little worried that checking in late might cause problems, but the security guard was present and checked me in with no issues. The views were absolutely phenomenal. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the provided coffee, cereal and oranges for juicing were a really nice touch. I have to scrape the barrel for negatives! The front door wasn't particularly soundproofed so it was quite easy to hear people waiting for the lifts, but it wasn't very busy at any point during my stay - it really didn't bother me. I strongly recommend this place!
