Don't let the facade and hallways fool you, the rooms once inside are massive, clean and comfortable. Super helpful staff as well. Birmingham location is 1 min walk to bars and restaurants. Staff not regularly at desk so need to call to get lockbox access for room keys..

I stayed there for a month. There is not a 24hours reception. The self check-in – check-out is a joke and I did not like it at all. I was lucky that the handyman was present when I arrived otherwise, I am pretty sure I would not be able to find my room and take some rest. DON'T even think of booking with breakfast. They just bring you when they remember or when you remind them some staff from TESCO. The TESCO is just round the corner and a lot of shops in the Mailbox opposite so go buy them by yourself. I had a one bedroom apartment that it was quite nice. In the shower you ned to be careful as water can easily splash out of the half-glassed bathtub. Cleaning is not their strong point. They even managed to bring me dirty towels ones :) The first room that they gave me was on the 1st floor and I could listen anyone walking and speaking on the road. They could also see me very easily if they looked up. I moved to 3rd floor and it was much better. I would not recommend you to stay there even though the area around it is just perfect.

Completely poor service without asking questions using covid reasons to refuse booking although it was for essential reasons. Most likely illegal to do so and did not ask anything questions to establish weather it was a genuine visit or not. Went on own prejudices to decide. Classic example of how you should not handle such bookings in this climate

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS - FILTHY ROOMS, URINE STAINED SHEETS, NO STAFF, UNHELPFUL AND DECEITFUL. First of all, when booked it was advertised as pay on arrival, we then received a link though email to pay (we had booked via third party) saying this must be done more then 72 hours before arrival. The link did not work, I had to chase several times to get a response and we were unsure if our booking was still valid - they then said it was my fault for using my cards and the only one that could be taken was a debit card ( you’ll see why this is important later on) Upon arrival, we arrived to a safe that was not closed and anyone could have accessed the keys. We looked in the safe to find our key not there! Another phone call to the Emergancy team on the weekend to say housekeeping will bring it down. (So our room was not ready for the specified check in time) the place was noisy and messy & others in the hallway expressed their annoyance at the check in process while we stood waiting. When we finally got in the room, after we had been stood waiting. It reeked of bad food, one of the dining chairs was ripped, the floor was all raised and grim - clearly no one has cared for this apartment. We thought let’s just let it slide as we were in town for pride and we wouldn’t be able to find somewhere else. Fast forward to the following morning - we get out of bed and notice a yellow stain that looks like URINE on the bed, this wasn’t fresh as it had dried and we were in absolute dismay. We checked out after that days pride and went home. How can anyone be expected to stay in somewhere so filthy and unclean? Further more, the alarm was going off and it took ages for anyone to come and turn it off and the neighbours were partying all night which is against the rules and really ruined it for us. The following morning I emailed a complaint to the spires and they said that they would not refund us as they didn’t have chance to put things right. How can any of this be put right? Are you going to replace the floor and broken chairs that night? Give us another bed sheet after we’d already slept in a soiled one? Finally send an actual staff member down instead of lying and saying that they are there? Will be taking action with my bank and legal action if required.

This place was perfect just at the start of the city centre walking distance from the train station. Apartment was very clean and everything you needed was on hand, big windows, large rooms. Staff where very friendly and extremely helpful I will be back. Highly recommended.

Probably one of the best stays I've had in a while and a bargain, couldn't find anywhere cheaper. An apartment is much nicer than a hotel room, and for the price, fantastic value. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was very clean and tidy, and everything agreed and promised met expectations. The en-suite bathroom was a really nice surprise as we were travelling as a family. So, as you might expect, the extra bathroom really saved us time in the morning. The views of the city centre from the balconies were really nice. I've already made arrangements for our next trip, were definitely staying there again. Go direct to The Spires Ltd to get an even cheaper price.

Pretty good. Location is excellent, right next to the mailbox. Staff pleasant. Apartment nice, clean, warm and in good condition apart from a bit of wear and tear. Bed comfortable although only a standard double size. Only problem was the TV not working but we weren't stopping in anyway.

Booked into the spires for a recent trip to Birmingham with friends. The check in process was really simple and the person I dealt with was incredibly helpful and friendly. The apartment had everything you would need for a comfortable night stay, the only thing I would say is that the interiors and furniture could do with some modernising, the carpet in the bedroom had a few iron burns in them. It was a lovely touch to have hand soap and body wash included however it could have been of better quality (though this could be down to a matter of personal preference). Overall I had a good stay and would happily stay here again.

Old and worn out furniture In front of a cooling hall with noisy ventilators blowing 24/7. The manager denies and guesses it must come from a Truck which was parking... Only excuses, no value adding Support. I invited the Manger, to come and convince himself. Even did not reply. After one week the staff took out the Garbage. As you don't have access to the garbage room. An Appartment is a place to live, not only to stay for one night. Bring you own toilet brush and hang for the wash

Am currently staying at The Spires for a gig at the Utilita Arena (which it is the perfect location for, a 10/15 walk). The apartment was spotlessly clean with great facilities. Nothing is forgotten down to hairdryers, iron/ironing board, everything you need in the kitchen and all the usual TV apps (Netflix, Amazon prime etc) I've not got a bad word to say at all. And literally amazing staff. I had to run back to the apartment from the arena as our powerbank let us down and our phones were dying, and the staff at the front desk gave us a fully charged solar powerbank, not lent...Actually GAVE it to us, as in to keep. Amazing and it helped us out so so much, we'll be able to video the amazing gig we came for and keep in touch with our families. Thanks so much staff at Spires, from Nic and Cody xxx

I hate to do this, And by that I mean tell everyone else how good somewhere is. I did read some reviews that spun a negative light on The Spires. But I didn't let them put me off giving it a try. I am stay here whilst on Business, which means I am able to relax on the sofa, or do whatever I would do if I were at home. I'm not confined to a single room like I would be if I were in a hotel. The apartment is clean and well equipped. I followed the instructions sent to me at the time of booking and felt confident I could get into my apartment. As it happened I was welcomed by the lovely staff who made sure I knew where I was going. Right in the heart of Birmingham I would love to bring my family here for a city break. I will be using this as my base for future business trips too. *Update* I've stayed here several times now for work and it's still as nice now as it was on my first visit. I'd like to be able to bring my family to Bham in the future and use this as a base but the pricing model is a bit weird. When you go to two adults and two children the price doubles. I get that I need an extra bedroom, but not two apartments. I think the pricing strategy needs rethinking. But it could be a glitch in the system. I have been told by reception to call and speak to them. So maybe it's just the booking system.

I stayed in the Spires Serviced Apartments Birmingham for a month and I can only say positive things about them: my experience was wonderful from start to end! Before my arrival, I had to change the dates of my booking due to a personal situation. Rebecca was very kind and helped me to change the booking dates quickly and easily. She even replied to my email on a Saturday, going above and beyond to help. When I arrived to the apartment itself, I found that the bedroom, bathroom and living room were all huge and very clean. The bed and the couch were very comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling windows both in the bedroom and living room could slide open if I wanted a bit of air. The apartment was perfectly equipped for cooking, clothes-washing, dish-washing etc. All the staff including the reception staff, the management and housekeeping were really kind. A special shout-out to Timothy who helped me to fix a washing machine and, in the meantime, took care of my washing for me. I really recommend the Spires Serviced Apartments. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience - thank you so much!

Great central location and rooms are to a modern standard with all amenities. Staff on the phone are polite and helpful even with small enquiries.

Was due to travel however after I shared details of a distressing personal circumstance they refused to give any money back. Tried to communicate and expressed that a learning difficulty made it difficult for me to do so and there was absolutely no compassion. Do not stay if you need a business to be accommodating or understanding of a disability as you will not get this experience.

Excellent location near New Street /Grand Central station surrpimded by pubs, restaurant, super market, hotels and a walking distance from Bull ring -the main shoppping district of Birmingham. Apartment is really spacious, cosy, comfortable and equipped with all the amenities that one would require during the stay. Recommend over hotels.

Arrived to a horrendous smell of sick in apartment. No response from email & out of hours phone communication. Had to sleep on the floor for the full weekend in living room. An apology given but full of excuses as to why there were issues. No offer of any financial compensation even though we rented an apartment which was not fit for purpose. Choose another apartment provider or a hotel where you know you will have someone available to help when you are staying at their premises.

Decent, well appointed apartments in a great location. Wasn't perfect but was good for what we paid and the location couldn't really have been better for us.

Disgustingly dirty - avoid. One of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. My apartment had not been cleaned and there was food on the floor of the bedroom and living area, as well as hairs in the shower and sink. Also thick dust on the bedside table. The apartment was also tired, with curtains falling off and a stale smell. Complained to the manager but they did not respond to me.

Stayed with Spires Birmingham for a few days for my graduation. I have never felt more at peace in a hotel! The location is so convenient, the apartment was great and fully stocked with anything you may need. The staff also are lovely, thank you especially to Joanne at reception, who made our trip as stress-free as possible! Will definitely be staying again

Room had left over beer, towels were left on the toilet seats, was told by the operations manager that the room wasn’t turned over from the previous guest, it is now 3 weeks later and I’ve still not received my refund, absolutely useless, I will not be staying there again, hair was everywhere.

Terrible. Dirty. Basic. No hot water, shower/bath didn’t drain. Bizarre checkin procedure. Never saw another human throughout the sorry process.

First impression was really negative due to the awful “hall”: looked more like an archive than the entrance of apartments; Very essential common spaces with moquette corridors. Despite this, the suite we booked was nice and well equipped.

Good location, slightly dated furniture and decor. The bathroom was decent. Best of all was the location it was right next to the shops, restaurants and cinema.

The staff at the reception was super nice and very flexible. (especially the young lady with blonde hair, Thank you again for the early check-in!) The room was nice and clean and well equipped. I have seen some comments about the noise, but we had no problem with that, even with open windows. (Maybe wasn't a busy night or we just used to it). It is really close to the centre, which is very convenient. The bed was very comfy, and the room was nice and spacious. Yes, there is a £250 deposit, but I got back mine within 3 days. Would use the aparthotel again!

Good check in and service, the staff we saw were lovely and very helpful. Well situated and appointed. Everything was clean but showing signs of age, quite shabby round the edges. Lots of things broken or not working. All was well for our needs and decent for the price paid, but would not likely recommend.
