We took the feeding tour. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The animals were eager to come out and eat and curious about the human visitors. Black Pine is a one of kind experience and they are doing a great service to the community and the welfare of the animals they rescue.

Very unique place! Animals normally needing euthanasia are given a place to live their best life for their remaining years. Hard to believe this is in Albion Indiana, but it is and you really should go!

Guided tours through the sanctuary where they tell you about the animals and why they are at the sanctuary. We booked tour online before going and you currently need to wear face masks to protect the animals from getting Covid. They have a small gift shop also. Tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable about the animals. Lots of different animals to see. Would recommend if you are in the area.

It’s guide tour only, so we booked ours online. Masks required, which I think it’s good. The tour guide is a volunteer there and very informative and nice. It’s good to know the stories about those animals. Love those big cats, such beautiful creatures. Like the experience.

I have lived in Fort Wayne for about 18 years, and it was my first time visiting Black Pine. It was a great, different, wonderful, and educational experience. We would definitely visit again. It was clean and very organized. All the volunteers were very friendly, welcoming, and definitely very well educated about the animals, etc. You could tell they really love what they do and really care about the animals. Loved it and can't wait to go back! Thank you for everything you all do for the animals!

I am always in awe of the care and peace provided to the animals at BPAS. It is so clear that the safety of the animal is a top priority. Those poor creatures have endured so much prior to their retirement and they deserve nothing but the honor they receive at the Sanctuary. Trish and her team do a phenomenal job ensuring guests both human and creatures alike have the best experience. If you haven't been, please go see for yourself! If you would like to volunteer they have lots of opportunities for all ages! Go BlackPine! Keep doing what you do!

Black Pine is an amazing place where animals can live their lives out in peace! It is very interesting learning about all their lives and where they came from. Each animals have a unique story and plus you going on a tour helps support them!

As fall is it about here & animals tend to change habits. Most where inside builds. Still some animals outside!

Such a caring and compassionate place. For those with mobility challenges, there is a lot of walking. The animals are much closer than at the zoo. Very nice, well cared for habitats for every one!

This is the most amazing place. Everytime I go there I see and learn something new. The animals are inspiring, and their stories are heartbreaking. We need more place like Black Pine to protect the animals and less people who will hurt them.

We were there after a rain storm. Animals were active, people non existence. We had the handlers to ourself and the ladies telling us the background stories of the animals. Couldn't ask for a better time.

Having visited and volunteered at Black Pine Animal Sanctuary many times over the years, I wholeheartedly recommend it as a destination for people who truly love their furry, feathery, scaly, and shelled fellow beings. This easy-to-walk sanctuary has dozens of uncommon species as permanent residents. It is a rare gem not only for Northern Indiana but for the country. All of the people, from director to keepers to gift shop to volunteers, work long, hard hours because they care deeply, and they've achieved the highest caliber accreditation in existence, GFAS, which is not given to roadside attractions or even most zoos. To visit Black Pine is to have a peaceful experience; schedule a tour to learn about where the animals came from and how exotic animals need to be treated. You'll get to ask questions, learn, and feel connected. Go see how ordinary people stepped up to create an extraordinary place, a sanctuary that is still growing and can become a place you will love, too.

Since they changed directors they have lost many good volunteers and donors! The director has no experience with exotic animals prior to her position! She has alienated many people which I question her ability to make decisions on behalf of the animals that live there, the care they receive etc. I have personally experienced (Trich) who accused us of petting the animals at the sanctuary, which is a down right LIE! As she has never taken the time to meet us or speak to us! She had one of her employees relay the message to us in front of numerous people in the gift shop! Humiliating😡 We have been long time donors and volunteers, but never again! It's just sad, at the time of our last visit a tiger, Ticha an elderly cat was having difficulty walking in her habitat and fell over and couldn't get up! I had a personal interest in this particular tiger she was rehomed there from our sanctuary because of new laws in Ohio, she received great care and attention until the Directors changed. It's just disappointing, they have lost allot of good volunteers and employees! It's not easy to find qualified people to care for exotic animals! Trish has burned her bridges! Let's hope animals don't suffer at her poor decisions!

Before going somewhere, I like to research Google reviews to see how other customers’ experiences have been. It is quite clear that the majority of visitors that go to Black Pine enjoy their experience, and I am no exception. My first visit to BPAS was in 2018. During my recent visit, I was surprised to see so many improvements and additions to habitats! The director did tell me she’d been with the sanctuary since 2019, and she sure has been busy! The sanctuary provides a permanent home for animals that were previously living as pets or performers, but they are all thriving thanks to the amazing work of the BPAS employees, volunteers, and supporters! Trish, you are doing a great job as a director! Thank you for inviting me out to take a tour!

We were allowed to go during their off season as a tour for pre vet students from a nearby university. It was a really great experience! The employees and volunteers were very knowledgeable and the animals seem to be living the best lives that they possible can given the situations they were rescued from. This sanctuary is doing amazing things and I hope to visit again in the future when Africa's new habitat is finished!

In light of media coverage in recent years, it is sometimes hard to know who you should be supporting. It was good to spend time here learning how these animals are being cared for with the animals physical and mental states taken into consideration. Black Pine is a wonderful place to learn about the underground exotic pet industry and meet some of the survivors. I would recommend anyone visiting and donating to this sanctuary.

This is an amazing place, a must to go. Clean, big, a lot of animals, and the work that people make there to keep this amigas safe is terrific. It is a 1:30 hour guide tour for $25.

Family friendly place with very friendly staff. Very educational as well. Many animals to see. All were saved from deplorable situations. Also, hot summer nights events are a blast. They are themed and always have activities for the kiddos.

We had an amazing tour here. Becky was super friendly and knowledgeable about all of the animals. We love to see all of the animals finding their forever homes and being treated well. Highly recommended!
