Amazing and huge place. If it your first time to visit I advice you to put Cheaha State Park in your GPS. The road is very curvy and you should drive very slow. Once you arrived to the park you will face a gate asking 5$ per person/ registration office and small shop. Soon you get in you will find the tower which is the highest point in Alabama. Also you will find a restaurant serving pizza/burger/ beer, Motel, campground, multiple trail with amazing view and one with a bridge very accessible by wheelchair and stroller. You can find clean bathrooms too

This is a great place. Cheaha included it's a great day or couple of days spent exploring there are a couple of Waterfalls here that we went to see. If you're a waterfall Hunter Salt Creek Falls is definitely one to see it is amazing. If you're looking for hiking there is plenty but some of the trails aren't marked well at all so you need to watch out.aside from that it's fun to go explore

Love my hometown backyard. I literally grew up in these woods. There are so many things to do here. Some of my favorite places are the trails and the creeks. There are several waterfalls and swimming holes and also plenty of hiking trails. Cheaha state park store has maps that include locations of trails, falls, lakes, campground and other attractions.

Loved our visit here. We had a great time climbing this mountain in car and on foot. Just what we were looking for. Great view, waterfalls, natural rock stairs, and a nice workout. Beautiful!!!

Section 4 of the pinhoti done in a three day weekend with a 9 year old. Very little water on the section so make sure you plan accordingly. Beautiful scenery and gray views. Even though the trail had signs says there is a shelter there isn't. Lots of spots to hang hammocks or pitch a tent though.

An absolutely gorgeous forest in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. I went to Mount Cheaha and the views were immaculate. The trails weren't difficult and it is fun weather in winter, summer or anytime in between. Highly recommend.

We went to Shepards Branch shooting range in the Talladega National Forest. It is a nice place to shoot. Bring your own targets and clips or staples to hang them. The road in is beautiful but I recommend taking a truck or suv since it's gravel with some washout. Worth the drive.

Nice place for return to the forest. 5 dollars entry fee is worth it to see all the beautiful view and avoid boss calling since this place has no signal with mint mobile. There’s 2 major trails to visit. The name is not important but the view is awesome. It would be better if the weather is good.

We visit the National Forest mainly for riding our dirt bikes. It's always just serene and beautiful. The views from the higher elevations are magnificent.

Lovely place to explore with fun trails to walk or drive on. There is many acres of land and I've enjoyed going out there every time I've made plans to go hiking or just vibing out in the woods. Its good to get out there and connect with nature. Would recommend to friends and family alike.
