I
found
Bella
Sicillia
a
big
dissapointment.
The
starter
I
chose
was
5ish
slices
of
aubergine
and
some
capsicum
pepper
chunks,
rolled
and
dusted
with
breadcrumbs.
It
claimed
on
the
menu
to
be
flavoured
with
cheese,
garlic
and
herbs
but
it
didn't
have
flavour
at
all
to
speak
of.
The
capsicum
peppers
were
not
fully
roasted,
and
there
were
dry
breadcrumbs
all
over
and
on
the
middle
of
the
aubergine.
It
gave
me
a
sore
mouth
to
eat
and
I
was
charged
£9
for
the
pleasure.
The
skin
of
the
aubergine
was
burnt,
and
at
one
point
got
stuck
in
my
throat.
Dining
partner
had
a
mushroom
starter,
cup
mushrooms
with
a
tomato
sauce
on
them.
She
said
one
or
two
tasted
ok
but
the
remainder
bland
-
almost
as
if
the
sauce
had
been
stirred
properly.
Moving
on
to
mains,
I
ordered
a
veal
dish
-
apparently
unavailable
as
to
was
too
much
trouble
for
the
kitchen.
Instead
I
ordered
watery
seafood
risotto,
made
with
the
cheap
frozen
seafood
mix
you
find
in
the
cash
and
carry.
This
was
as
forgettable
as
my
starter.
The
other
main
we
ordered
was
spaghetti
carbonara;
a
little
better
than
the
rest
but
its
hardly
the
most
sophisticated
dish.
Knocking
on
the
door
of
£70
for
2
veggie
starters,
2
mains
3
glasses
of
175ml
wine
and
2
small
glasses
of
soft
drink
and
a
bowl
of
mushy
unpleasant
olives.
All
in
all
very
forgettable,
highly
dissapointing
and
could
easily
have
spent
the
same
amount
for
higher
quality
elsewhere.
Family
run
it
may
be,
so
a
very
generous
3
stars.
We
didn't
complain
on
the
night
as
I
got
the
impression
the
owner
wouldn't
have
been
to
receptive
to
live
feedback
-
he
was
too
busy
taking
photos
with
a
big
rowdy
birthday
party.
Oh,
and
we
had
to
ask
for
cutlery,
and
some
olive
oil/balsamic
to
moisten
the
supermarket
baguette
we
were
served
with
our
mains.
