Edo is one of Royal Oak’s best kept secrets. I have been going to Edo for over 3 years now. They not only have a delicious award-winning menu that caters to all dietary needs but often have free entertainment on the weekends. They also occasionally host private events…from birthdays, anniversaries, to book releases. They do an amazing job and help support many artists and musicians as well. They are truly good people. They have an amazing staff. And I have to also throw in that they have free parking— which is priceless! I support Edo because they truly give back to the community.

This place is jewel of an experience. I live in Rochester hills and I probably visit here more than once a month. The food is authentically crafted and delicious. I can’t explain how much more I like their food compared to others of the same genre of cuisine. There is an element of home cooking and fine dining refining their recipes. Even the presentation presents a vibe that is real and interesting. My favorite sushi is the extreme California roll or the caterpillar roll. If rolls aren’t your thing the steamed dumplings will firm up win you affection with its savory broth drippings. I tend to have the ramen with their kale noodles that make me feel less guilty for enjoying the Smorgasbord of offerings. I recommend to try to sit in different spots each time you visit to be able to appreciate the hired help and their riveting personalities. Bottom line: I love the food, the atmosphere, and the workers here!

name something more annoying than biting into your tempura sushi roll and coming up with shrimp shells all in your mouth. I think it is so tacky and careless that they do not remove the shrimp shells. This is not the first time that I have ordered from them and gotten shells in my food either. . Ramen is decent. I Will not be ordering sushi from them anymore. Spend too much money on it to spit nearly all of it out.

We really enjoyed our meal at Edo Ramen e started with a crazy roll and it was delicious. It looked visually pleasing g as well. The ramens were very good. Service was A+. They have a wide variety of Hitachino Nest beers and I was able to try 3. The drink menu overall it’s pretty good for a smaller place like this. Parking is wavy in back.

Very attentive service with a very knowledgeable waitress. She was kind and accommodating to our requests and questions. They had live music that was stellar and the food was authentic and delicious. Little pricy but for the portion size, well worth it. Would 100% come back again!

I hate to be that customer.. but I’m really disappointed in the flavors I had tonight. I been to other ramen noodle spots and this one just wasn’t worth it. Especially since it’s the more expensive than the others. The pork broth was the worst one, the pork was tough and lacking flavor & the chicken broth was better but noodles in both were way over done. The garlic rice had no garlic flavor at all! Had to be tons of soy sauce on it to add more flavor. Wasn’t worth $20 let alone $35 that I spent. Response to owner: Well if you must know I had a carry out order, I live 5 mins away, nothing would have had change that dramatically that quick. Also for those 2 out of 5 other views I was totally honest first time I tried those places they were great, second time experience was different so I told the truth, but luckily I know to not to try you again, I feel compelled to tell honest reviews. When I have bad experience I like to warn others but you are also right I will start to leave good comments at good restaurants. You didn't seem to mention the pandemic when other people left bad reviews.... seems kinda funny you're trying to make excuses to me about it though.

My favorite go-to spot! I love so much about this place. I stumbled upon Edo shortly after it opened and have been making weekly visits since. I bring everyone here and they all love it. Nabeyake is my go-to, but honestly, everything is delicious. They will customize your order so it works for any dietary issues a. Great service too—the owner, Greg, is so welcoming and checks in every time I’m dining. The waitstaff is phenomenal and 3 cheers to the sushi chef who creates special rolls for us when we go. Very reasonable price point! Beware: Friday night live music can get VERY loud. Ample parking. Oh, the chocolate cake is stupid good and HUGE.

I'm vegan and my partner is Muslim/eats halal. It's rare to find a restaurant that not only accommodates but fully supports both of our respective dietary restrictions. I really appreciate that Edo is a place we can enjoy a tasty and high protein meal.

The main dish portions are awesome, as is the service, but the ramen was good but not great; the sides and drinks were also great but the portions were significantly smaller than other places in the area. Still worth the visit if you're around though for the service alone.

This is one of the worst restraunts me and my friends have ever eaten at. Parking lots a mess. Meat was so stiff It was able to leave a fork im meat halfway WHILE sticking straight up. I wish my reccomendations would stop suggesting this place

This place was AMAZING. My boyfriend and I went yesterday and they have the best sushi and ramen I have had in my life. The customer service is amazing and I have no complaints. This is definitely a place to try if you are a sushi/ramen lover. Hats off to the chef lol

The only thing missing is more bubble tea options. The food is good everytime, and service is excellent.

This overpriced anime spaghetti looked and tasted like someone just added a couple ingredients to the kind you get at the store.

Edo Ramen has a huge variety of Asian Fusion dishes to satisfy every palate. Their ramen bowls are one of my favorites; having had authentic ramen in Japan, it's hard to find ramen close enough to the original around where I live. I also love the fact that they have a large selection of sushis and I was thrilled to enjoy their fresh raw tuna sashimi. Also, their Filipino dishes look really good; I have only tried their Lechon Kawali Bowl and have yet to try other items such as their Kamayan Feast with tapa, bangus, etc. My husband and I are definitely going back to try other menu items for sure! Oh! We had a terrific server, Christine!

Appreciated that they have a Filipino menu but the flavor is too rich/saucy. Ordered a Kamayan (adobo, sisig and bangus) with rice and egg. The sisig and adobo tasted the same with just a different way the meat was cooked. Expected more from the milkfish, such as the middle having more fat. A decent place if you want to try some Filipino dishes but there’s more local canteen style with mini pantries out there. Enjoyed the variety of food such as alcoholic beverages (there’s an ube drink with vodka 👌🏽) and the desserts- mochi, halo halo, fried ice cream, boba and different ice cream flavors. Ordered halo halo but was told that the ice cream was stored in the wrong place so was a bit bummed out. Something to try but will get something else when I come visit.

Our first visit to Edo and it was wonderful! My fiance and I both have dietary restrictions (vegan) and it was wonderful to see an entire portion of the menu dedicated to vegan and gluten free items. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was modern and filled with an artist's work. We got the vegan mad hatter roll, spicy tofu ramen and the pancin bihon, all together it was around 60 bucks which is a little pricey but everything is right now and they give you a ton of food. Everything was delicious and we can't wait to be back to try the veggie volcano roll and vegan mochi 😋

Good little spot for a hot bowl of Ramen. I haven’t been to too many ramen houses so I can’t say that it was the best or exceptional. However it was delicious nonetheless. Will go back for sure.

Ordered the fried rice from here but asked that it be made vegan (as all the other items I ordered were vegan). They confirmed over the phone that they would make it vegan. Get it home and it has egg in it. Rest of the food is kind of bland. Don’t think I’ll be eating here again.

Asked for extra spicy ramen and they either forgot/didn’t add any. Also asked if the eggs would be hard boiled when ordering and was told they were, but when I got home after my carry out I saw they were all hard boiled. Even if I didn’t want it spicy the ramen is still too salty to come back. Service was nice.

We ordered pick up and the food was good. The bill was $43 and after making a payment I requested lemon, the girl came back and said she had to charge $1.00. I said fine, she gave me a closed container with it and I left. However, when I got home, I found two tiny slivers of lemon. Who does that? You get a free sliver with a cup of water.

Awesome! Salty, tons of noodles and chicken. My wife and I liked it way better than city ramen in Royal oak. Price wasn't bad either.

Love Love Love Edo Ramen. We ordered take-out last night for the first time and fell in love. Their food is authentic Japanese cuisine and simply delicious! We tried the Karage Chicken, Tuna Poke Bowl with soy & sesame dressing, and the Spicy Miso Ramen. All outstandingly! We highly recoommend.

Everything we ate, The Ramen, the Sushi & the pork & chicken curry with shrimp tempura was on point. Perfect spices, not overpowering. My wife almost had a religious experience with the curry and the California roll. And to top it off we had the cheesecake tempura a la mode for dessert... Then we both had a religious experience together and we completely surrendered to the pleasure of the degustation.

Really yummy food & the staff is always very helpful in accommodating gluten-free options! Plus I kind of love that the portions are huge - I can get 2-3 meals from one dish

Just ordered take out from here and it was awesome! We recently moved to the area and were really craving sushi. Ordered the Big Joe roll, Drago roll, diablo roll, and the soft shell crab roll; they were all fantastic. The Diablo is the BEST roll I’ve ever had I just order without onions due to allergies! I can’t wait to dine in and try even more of their food. Also the portions were great we had some left over and at other sushi places we NEVER have enough for leftovers. Definitely recommend!

Online it says that you can dine in but I wasn't offered to dine in as all the postings on the doors said "Carry Out Only". So after I made my order & sat in the waiting area, I of course was upset that they quickly sat down another couple. Secondly, the ramen wasn't all that. The flavor just wasn't there compared to the other places I had. The dumplings were okay. The best part of my meal was the Tempura Cheesecake, it's the bomb! If I were to ever return, it would probably only be for that reason.

We met with friends at this spot for dinner. my friend recommended this place. Well, we were not disappointed. The crew were very polite and we had an excellent feeling. The meal was tasty. We had a great time and we shall absolutely come back again. Highly recommended.

Some of the best takoyaki I've ever had, and the servers here are very nice.

We ordered three meals from here and ate them later, after the restaurant had closed, so we couldn't call for a replacement. 2 of the three were the asian bowls, which include a soup and salad, as well as rice and eggs. However, neither of these orders came with the soup or salad. In addition, we ordered the Yasai Itami, which though it doesn't list mushrooms, like other dishes, on the menu uses them as a main vegetable. Had we known this, we would not have ordered it. The takeaway: check your pickup order for all items, and the menu does not show all ingredients, so if you have an allergy, ask.

Delicious food! My first visit I had the ramen and I loved it! This time I ordered their sushi and I wasn't disappointed. The service is wonderful. Highly recommend to those who love Japanese cuisine.

First time customer and ordered through delivery, trying to support local during the pandemic. We got an order of the traditional shoyu and traditional tonkotsu ramen. Both of the ramens were so salty they couldn’t be eaten. We love ramen and were disappointed in what we received.

  • 4/5 Ashley 3 years ago on Google
I absolutely love the ramen here! It’s not salty here like it is at other places. I would eat it every day if I could. The Mrs. Green is my favorite and is enough for 1.5 meals. It is slightly more expensive than other options in the area ($16 vs $13). The reason I only gave 4 stars is the bubble tea: it’s great that it’s offered, but would be better if it was customizable (iced or frozen/topping options) instead you only get to pick your flavor and it’s $7 per bubble tea. They’re all frozen and still have chunks of ice in them. Also they don’t have the option to pick from boba, tapioca, jellies, etc.

Got the classic ramen, and the broth was just way too salty. Like incredibly salty to the point where it was barely edible
