Making arrangements for a loved one is probably one of the most emotional experiences that one will ever go through. Verheyden provided the most amazing service. Everything was perfect and the process of planning my grandmothers funeral was seamless. The staff is was excellent and made sure that our family was pleased every step of the way! I highly recommend them and will continue to seek them professionally when the time comes again.

I preplanned my father’s funeral at another local funeral home on Mack in gp which I have used for my mother. This time I was referred to this funeral home and dealt with Brian. He was much more friendly and welcoming. The difference I should note is my experience with the other funeral home was done with immediate need vs. this experience here started with a preplanned funeral that I didn’t expect to need for some time. Unfortunately my father passed only about two months after it was finalized. The fees were very close although Verhyden’s fee was about $800.00 less. They also did not attempt to collect for the opening and closing of the grave which they explained was illegal. Whereas the other facility wanted to hold those funds. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. But they forgot to instruct us to line up pall bearers. They also forgot the obituary and had to rush to put one together which was excellent. But the saddest part was even though I reminded them to honor my father’s service with a flag on the coffin they forgot it. They suggested we meet next year and have military honors and present us with a flag then. I don’t think that is going to have the same meaning considering my dad was so humbled and happy that the flag was going to be on his coffin. If you want more detail and Aloof service head to vernier. If you want friendly accommodating staff and don’t mind checking one or two small details I would definitely recommend Verhyden they did a very good job!

Our family used Verheyden Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Park for my father's viewing/service and every step was handled with care. During an emotionally charged time, Funeral Director Joseph Aleardi did as his title suggests and directed our family through all the decisions with professionalism, respect and care. Mr. Aleardi was in contact and made available to us 24/7, honoring any requests and edits our family had leading up to the viewing. During the viewing, Mr. Aleardi maintained a close presence in case we needed something. Our family is grateful to have worked with Mr. Aleardi and Verheyden Funeral Home during a difficult time.

We were and still are devastated by the death of our daughter. Brooke H., listened to us with compassion and understanding. She made the process as smooth as possible. Nobody is excited to select a funeral home. When my father died we were lost as to where to even start. How does one plan a funeral? From the very first phone call the staff at Verheyden made my family and I feel at ease with the process. My dad’s funeral was beautiful. There was very little stress on us because of all the work done by Verheyden. I honestly can’t say enough good things about them.

Verheyden in Grosse Point is phenomenal. I employed them for both my mom and dad's funeral which were 4 years apart. All of the directors and staff were very professional, compassionate and accommodating. They took care of all the details which allowed me and my family to grieve without worring about any of the ceremonial details. In particular, Joseph Aleardi and Adrianna Schnell were exceptional. They exceeded expectations.

Going through the death of a family member is a difficult time. Our Uncle wanted to go through Verheyden like his Mother in 1985 and his brother in 2015. From the first call to Verheyden, we were treated like family. Joseph was kind, thoughtful, compassionate, professional, and thorough. He was always there if we needed anything. I am very pleased with how everything turned out for our Mothers funeral. I was amazed at how comforting and caring the people at Verheyden were. Even though my Mother had planned a lot of the funeral, I had no idea how much was actually involved. Adrianna went above and beyond to help with the whole process. It was extremely emotional and stressful for myself and the family. Adrianna and her staff were there guiding us and helping us make decisions every step of the way. She was very knowledgeable and up front about everything that needed to be done. She also helped with the burial which ended up being a few weeks later. I appreciate her and all the others that helped get all of this put together. The person who did the obituary did an amazing job! The people that helped the day of the viewing and at the funeral were great also. The people at Verheyden are excellent at what they do and a true blessing during such a difficult time.

I just want to say Verheyden in Grosse Pointe is the best. My Brother in laws services were held there this past weekend. The Owner Brian was right by my sisters side from beginning to the end. He even walked her down the aisle. Awesome !!! The staff were very, very accommodating to all my sisters needs and more. My family and I were impressed with Verheyden’s facility and staff. They were very communicative via phone, text and email. They responded to my texts after hours and arrived early to help create my father’s photo slide show. We worked with Kristen and Brooke and both were a delight.
