Very pleasant little stop over with a lovely little pub and huge restaurant. I will have to go back for a beer and a meal. Got the personal tour around to see all the museum pieces.

What a little gem. When I drove in to Thomas River I did not expect to see such a little gem with so much history. The bar and dinner is great and the food is good. Inside there are a nice collection of memorabilia to see. It is definatley worth a visit and perfect for a lunch stop. Walk around and explore the shed with lots of old horse carts in them or the garage with old fuel pump and car.

Know the village and staff well (some I even taught at a local farm school!) Well worth a visit and a stay-over as there is so much to see and learn.

Very interesting place to visit, lots of old stuff on display. The food is well priced and well prepared. Lovely surroundings with lots of history. Campsites are o.k for the rate charged, however, only 3 sites with some shade. Toilets and showers are reasonably clean but outdated and a bit removed from campsites. No amenities for doing dishes. If you camp here only for overnight and rather use the restaurant you are sorted! This place has huge potential to be more!

Any one looking for a hidden gem? If you do not mind an open fireplace in your living room or bedroom. If you do not mind a gas geyser and suspended wooden floors. If you enjoy nostalgia and our history. If you enjoy old cars and memorabilia. If you enjoy peace and quiet. If you enjoy delicious food at reasonable prices, a campsite without the masses at a very good rate, ....... then his is the place for you.
