This trail is amazing, my family and I enjoy exploring the 'forest' then go to Reef Cafe where Hugh and his staff make the best strawberry milkshakes ever. We never let our out of town friends leave East London without this experience. There's a part in the trail that gives a vantage point over the footprint building πŸŒ±πŸŒ²πŸŒ³πŸ€β˜˜πŸŒΏπŸŒΎπŸŒ΅πŸŒ΄πŸŒ»πŸŒΌπŸ•ΈπŸ•· there are gorgeous picnic setups right through where one can have a wonderful lunch with beautiful views

A wonderful stroll in nature! Loved the forest trails and to hear all the birds high up in the trees. The boardwalk towards the small beach at the river was a joy to walk. I would definitely recommend this hike. If you want to enjoy this lovely walk, remember that it's only open during the week from 9:00-16:00.

A clean and well-maintained trail through the forest and along the boardwalk (is Only open during the week. ) Very easy walk for all ages as well - even through the forest. Quite a few benches along the way if you need to take a break or just take in the surroundings & a quiet area for bird watching - with info on all the birds in the area. Def a must for those that enjoy the outdoors.

Lovely hike, mostly flat ground not difficult to walk at all. The path is not as clear in the beginning as it is later. The boardwalk is also very scenic

Lovely and relaxed outing. At the end of the trail before retuning you can take a swim in the river. Bird watching area with plenty birds to keep you entertained. Chilled out with the children. One way to relax after the hustle and bustle of work life. You can only access it on week days unless you buy a yearly pass for R135 or life time pass.

Love it. It is so peaceful and empty. A good walk to get out and avoid the crowds. Love taking my 2month old baby on the trail walk. It is generally well-maintained.

Best hours in any reserve is early morning and late afternoon. This place opens three hours after sunrise and three hours before sunset. Useless to birders.

Lovely trail with gorgeous birds, small wildlife and tranquil scenery. Disappointed that it only is open during the week, otherwise it'd have been an easy five stars.

Well sign posted and well kept trail walk. We managed to do 4km altogether. There's a mix of grass trail, Coastal bush, boardwalk and sand one you're on the beach. Parking is secure.
