If
you
are
prepared
to
risk
the
pot
holed
roads
in
this
run
down
town
the
tower
is
worth
a
visit.
There
was
work
taking
place
on
upgrading
the
road
into
town,
also
the
local
museum
was
closed
as
work
is
taking
place
there
so
hopefully
things
will
be
improving.
We
were
told
to
collect
a
key
for
the
tower
from
a
security
guard
at
the
building
next
door,
apparently
a
heritage
building
too,
which
is
in
the
most
appalling
state.
There
is
no
information
regarding
the
the
Martello
Tower,
we
were
given
the
key
and
left
to
explore
on
our
own.
The
local
waste
department
are
using
the
back
of
the
tower
as
a
toilet
and
there
were
also
cell
phone
covers
lying
around,
obviously
from
stolen
phones.
The
Cannon
on
top
of
the
tower
is
lying
next
to
the
carriage,
when
we
asked
the
security
guard
why,
he
told
us
they're
not
using
it
anymore.
So,
at
least
we
had
a
good
laugh!
