A great place to stay, good location, impeccably clean, can pay with credit card, good price-value. Breakfast is decent with lots of fresh fruits and nice selection of breads. Staff are very friendly. The restaurant however needs more work - the service is incredibly slow (45minutes for a burger) and the food lacks love and finishing. Poke bowls are sold that have no reference to it. However - the rooms are great, nice views too, and the pool is amazing (25meters long, great for swimming). Everything seems very new. The internet is fine with some interruptions every now and then, but overall good. I’d stay there again.

Exactly what you expect from a 5 star hotel. Clean beautiful friendly helpful service all round, nice pool and clean gym. A gem in Bissau. I cannot recommend it enough. Breakfast is fantastic, room service is fast and the quality of the food is awesome. Located 8 mins from the airport. The only little negative is the wifi service due to the unstable networks of the local operators. Prices are fair as well.

Newly built hotel in center of Bissau, clean, fresh, well-managed, wonderful staff who were very helpful and spoke several languages, great breakfast, lovely gym and pool area. The hotel also has a large auditorium and is fit for conferences. Wi-Fi worked well. The view towards the national parliament and sea was stunning. The airport transfer was very smooth. The location is very convenient. Made me think of a mini version of Sofitel in Abidjan, but a lot newer.

Yup pretty much what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel, clean, meticulous service, and all the other perks. The people are also very friendly, and I say people and not staff because everyone in Guinea-Bissau is. Will be coming back to this country and to this hotel, of that I have no doubt.

The Ceiba Hotel is a decent hotel for a country such as Guinea Bissau. Room quality, bed & beddings, bathroom fixtures & fittings are all good quality. It is by no means a 5* hotel such as a Sofitel, Intercon or Sheraton, but perhaps more comparable to a European 3* or perhaps even a very basic 4* hotel. The rooms are cleaned very well and the cleaning staff are very honest. There is no concern of theft from the rooms, which can occasionally be an issue when travelling certain developing countries. As a global business/engineering traveler, travelling approx 9 months a year, quality customer service at any hotel is paramount. Especially when i am a long term guest. I have stayed in this particular hotel for approx 5 months in total. 4-5 weeks at a time since Feb 2019. My findings are that generally the staff in the hotel are fairly poorly trained. Any simple request out of the norm is usually impossibly difficult for the staff to action immediately, without rising up the chain of command for approval. A management style 'managed through fear' seems to be employed in this hotel. This makes simple decision making by the hotel staff impossible and ends up providing a terrible customer service experience for guests. I have had innumerable frustrating encounters with reception staff here over the years. All could've been avoided if staff were trained correctly and perhaps had a carte blanche from the management to approve simple 'out of the norm' requests. That said, certain reception staff, namely Daniela and Binta are the exception! These two girls have very good customer service skills, and to put it frankly, if it wasn't for these two providing for my needs, i would have long departed to an alternative accommodation. (Daniela and Binta, if you are reading this, THANK YOU) The restaurant at the hotel is a joke (Bioko). The food is absolutely appalling with a service to match. I don't have the energy to comment on this, but it's a comedy circus one has to experience themselves, just so you can tell the story to friends and family when you get home. A major failure of the hotel is the opening time of the restaurant in the morning. 7AM, not a second earlier!!! The staff have the look of fear in their eyes if you dare come near the restaurant front door prior to 7AM. They will not and cannot let you in!?!?!? Believe me, this has been a thorn in my side for all the time i have been here. When i am in Bissau, i regularly have to depart the hotel very early in the morning to travel to work. The hotel will allow you to come into the restaurant prior to 7am, but only if you have pre-arranged it with the hotel manager the night before. In this scenario you have to order your breakfast the night before, and they will prepare it for you the night before. This means the breakfast you are presented with in the morning is not exactly fresh! Even if the buffet is ready and displayed by 6.15am, my pre-prepared breakfast will be provided to me and i will not be allowed to eat from the freshly made buffet, even though it is ready!?!? A logic presented to me by the hotel manager (Rosa). I quote 'the buffet has to look perfect for the first guest'. BUT I AM THE FIRST GUEST!!! Also note, as a long term guest, have i ever been given a free upgrade, a free coffee, water or a soft drink. Never! When i stay in the Sofitel or the Sheraton or any other international hotel for any length of time, they put me in a luxury suite with a service to match. This place has a lot to learn. Lack of care from the management i suppose. All that said, there is no better place to stay in Bissau than the Ceiba hotel. I'll be back next year. I hope some of my comments would've been considered and changes implemented upon my return. Somehow, i have my doubts.

Like finding water in the middle of the desert. First class accommodations, very modern rooms. Restaurant and cafe have to wait long for everything....don't even plan to get out of the hotel without a guide o at least in a car.

Excellent place to stay. Secure with satisfactory amenities, including the main restaurant and cafeteria. Polite and welcoming staff. I enjoyed spending more time at the cafeteria as they had a great playlist for local and regional music.

This is Bissau's top rated hotel. The pool is nice and the staff are quite friendly. I did not stay at the hotel but had drinks and food by the pool which were overpriced and mediocre.

My family and I was a guest at ceiba bissau, the service was great friendly staffs , but the hotel have to manny people from outside that come in to the lobby area using couches taking advantage of the hotel wifi , hotel should not allow it, hotels couches internet should be for paying costumers only.

Few days ago my family and I stayed at ceiba hotel in Bissau, great service, friendly staff, good food, and clean atmosphere, I had to give this hotel a 4 star rating because, people from outside that are not even a hotel guests walking in right at lobby they use hotel sofa couches, and take advantage of the Wi-Fi, as a paying guest I was not comfortable with it, these services or comfort should be for hotel guests only, and there was a guy in the lobby asking my family and I for cash, ceiba need to crack down on this situation, to insure their guests comfort.

Fantastic pool, great hotel, good food except the breakfast. Too bad that the entire staff in the restaurant including the restaurant manager are incompetent and utterly ignorant. Still the best hotel in the country I guess.

An Oasis in the city. By a long shot the best hotel in the city, the country and possible a radious of about 1000km. The pool can be used for 10K CFA even by non-residents. If GB gets to be a bit too much for you, it's a nice escape.

If you are a lover of mordern interior, this is the best you can get in G/bissou. Just that the rooms would have been better if they were sounds proof.

I had a really poor service. The pool cleaner was shouting on me and the rest of the staff they don’t have experience dealing with clients in 5 stars hotel. That’s a shame, shame

This is the best swimming pool in Bissau but unfortunately it is not well maintained and if you look closely you’ll see that the water is dirty and there is black dirt between the tiles. Also they have not looked after the tiling where some have come off and left sharp edges – my friend cut his toe today in the pool.
