It’s a place of worship and faith so one can’t really review it. It features in all the tourist guides as a place of visit. So if you are someone who like to tick off all the places to visit in your travel or someone who is interested in visiting places that are calm and gives a feeling of peace and serenity, this is definitely a place to visit in the small town of Bomdila, which serves as stop overs for people going towards Tawang or going back from there. The monastery has a new wing and an old part and is on Top if a hill so you have some good views of the town below as well. If it’s cloudy then you may not see the town yet it gives a good serene fee with in.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bomdila Monastery, and it was truly a serene and spiritually uplifting experience. Tucked away in the picturesque hills of Arunachal Pradesh, this monastery is a hidden gem that should not be missed. The journey to Bomdila Monastery is an adventure in itself, with winding roads that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Upon reaching the monastery, I was immediately struck by its traditional Tibetan architecture and the sense of peace that envelops the entire area. The prayer flags fluttering in the mountain breeze, coupled with the soothing chants of monks, create an atmosphere of tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere. The monastery's well-maintained grounds and colorful decorations add to its charm, making it a perfect place for both spiritual reflection and quiet contemplation. Inside the monastery, the vibrant and intricately painted murals tell stories of Buddhist teachings, offering visitors a glimpse into the rich cultural and religious heritage of the region. The prayer hall is a serene space where one can witness the monks engaged in their rituals, providing a unique and immersive experience. I also had the chance to interact with some of the monks, who were welcoming and eager to share their knowledge about Buddhism and the monastery's history. Their warmth and hospitality added a personal touch to my visit. In conclusion, Bomdila Monastery is a must-visit destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat in the midst of nature. Whether you are a spiritual seeker, a history enthusiast, or simply someone looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this monastery offers a rejuvenating experience that stays with you long after you leave. I highly recommend taking the time to explore this hidden treasure in the mountains.

A very calm and serene place. When we visited in the evening on 3rd April, the monks were gathered in prayer and were chanting. Absolutely beautiful. We also got a chance to play with some of the kids (young monks) who stay in the monastery compound. Come here for a peaceful walk or just to sit on the green grass and listen to the peaceful chants of the monks.

A religious place. Just before reaching the monastery a small market is set which consists of various items. They are a bit pricey for the ones if you reside in plains but for the mountain region it is understandable. Other than that it is usually peaceful but it happened to be a religious ceremony on the day I visited so it was quite crowded.

Bomdila monastery or also known as the Gentse Gaden Rabgyel Lling monastery is simply beautiful. The prayer room is huge. And when the kanas do their chanting the place reverberates in a magical way. There are lots of kids there too. Kids of all ages. All trying to grow in their spiritual journey. I made friends with a few. They are fun to be with. And they are inquisitive…. They have some many questions. I stayed in a lodge/hotel right in front of the monastery. The food was good.

Peaceful and nice location. The place contains Buddhist culture centre, a guest house for staying, school, medical facilities and a small township of sort. Mornings are nice to visit and the place has beautiful views of hills and clouds. Very lively place.

Also known as Gentse Gaden Rabgyel Lling monastery, Bombdila monastery was built in 1965 by the twelfth incarnation of the TsonaGontse Rinpoche. And was rebuilt by the thirteenth reincarnation, TsonaGontseRinponche renovated the monastery by building a larger prayer hall. Inside the Gompa, there's a huge prayer, which is used by the lamas for praying; the temple of Buddha, and a tiny quarter of monks. Apart from its religious significance, the monastery is also known for its natural beauty. Stunning vistas that you can see from here are fabulous and breathtaking. Getting There: To reach Bomdila Monastery, you can find taxis from anywhere in the city. Things to Do & See in and around: Craft Centre, Tipi, and Bhalukpong are some of the places that you can plan to visit over a trip to Bomdila Monastery. Best Time to Visit: The best time to plan a visit to plan a visit to the monastery will be during the Losar Festival, which is commemorated to mark the new year.

Nice place to visit when traveling from Bomdila to Tawang just take 30 min break here. No entry tickets. Just see Buddhist architecture, school and ride to Dirang. If you are late you can even skip the place. See the monastery in Dirang

This Monastery was established in the year 1965 and it represents the spiritual essence of Buddhism. It is situated close to Tipi Orchid Research Center in West Kameng district. Followers of Mahayana Buddhism consider this place sacred. The monastery resembles Tsona Gontse Monastery of South Tibet

A lesser visited place in Dirang as most of the tourists visit Tawang Monastery, while going to Tawang. This monastery is slightly off the way to enter Dirang on the main Road. Need to move up a few stairs to reach the Prayer Hall. A huge idol of Lord Buddha, and a lot of monks reciting chants together along with Tibetan drums & horns. They also study as there is a school and library. You can spend some time in the prayer hall to be alone with yourself. One can easily see the monastery as they enter Dirang. Its a very peaceful place and should be on visiting list of everybody.
