Ron's Cafe has very good food. Gypsy has a hot beef dinner and I had the chicken Fried Steak. Both were very good. The Cafe is quite unusual and the wall decorations are very good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We met Ron and I have included a photo. The next time we are in the area we will definitely stop by for a meal.

Wow! What a place! Definitely worth a stop or two or three!! Food and service was outstanding! The outside looks like a car garage and you just might drive right on by looking for the place. Parking is in back or on the side. A couple spots in front but that's in case you missed the back and side like I did. Or if you know where to go they could be your first choice. Interior is a blast from the past...the 50s diner past. Memorabilia from past menus to historical photos to LPs and hub caps of cars long ago. Small diner with great food. You must not pass this up!

Upon entering (from the side :), you walk into a museum of great old memorabilia-nothing fancy, real life toys, games, music, etc. Took us back! An old menu on the wall had handwritten prices- $1.40 B.L.T, $0.90 cheeseburger! Just wow!!! We think Ron himself sat us at our table! Our waitress Lorna was AWESOME! We asked questions, and she had answers for everything! Bless her heart for being so patient! She knew we were not local hahaha! Loved her…. She lost a step when she started to question us being Cowboys fans, but she quickly made up lost ground when she said she did not like the Eagles! Hahaha! This place was all that and more! Hole-in-the-wall for sure and definitely worth going back! We ordered: Breakfast bowl— the sliced potatoes in this plate were to die for or at least break every diet created! Hot Hamburger w/fries instead of mashed potatoes-brown gravy… ***did not get pics but the plates were empty!*** Breakfast Burrito- just wow! 2eggs, hashbrowns, toast- added crispy bacon, and the gravy from breakfast bowl! ** I am a ketchup on hb &eggs kinda girl, but Ketchup did not touch this plate! THAT is how good the food was!!!*^

Great little mom and pop hole in the wall. The biscuits and gravy are amazing. Adorable, great service, very welcoming. The portions are great for the prices. Definitely give this place a try.

Excellent customer service. But everything here was in slow motion. Long wait and none of the staff was in a hurry. 4 of us got the lunch special of soup and chicken salad sandwich. Soup was great but the chicken salad was paper thin. Dessert was good.

My Mom and I visited Rapid City for a week of sightseeing in the area in June of 2022. We mostly made breakfast at the rental we stayed at, but on the last day were looking for a local breakfast place before driving home. Ron's was Perfect! The people (staff and regulars) were so friendly, and the food was reasonably priced and so delicious. This is truly a hidden gem in Rapid City. I had the homemade corned beef hash and eggs with marble rye toast, and my plate was nearly dishwasher-clean when I finished. Yummmm! I never reached the bottom of my coffee cup before someone asked if I would like more. Mom had eggs, sausage with raisin toast and said that if we had discovered Ron's when we arrived, we would have skipped making breakfast at the cabin! Awesome establishment!

Ron's is the best anywhere for the classic breakfast eggs bacon toast and HASH BROWNS. The best hash browns, hand grated, crispy.

You will get nothing short of a grand, hard working American, tasty and delightful experience at Ron’s Cafe. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Rapid City! Lorna is the current owner and waitress of this establishment. She is is a picture of true America. Her customer service is second to none ensuring your coffee cup is always full. If you’re a regular, she’ll call you by name. The atmosphere is enough to inspire Norman Rockwell himself. They have old relics on the wall beside pictures that depict a western feel. If you want a picture of a small town cafe in the second largest city in SoDak, Ron’s is the place. The food is excellent! Come hungry, as their portions are big. The lunch specials come with a slice of dessert, soup or salad and they serve breakfast anytime. If you want support a great local restaurant make Ron’s a must stop. There’s a reason people are waiting to be seated. Ron’s plate is worth the wait.

Stopped here for breakfast - we each had the two egg, hash brown, toast breakfast. I had bacon and hubby had sausage patties. Over easy eggs were perfectly cooked. Breakfast was delish and came out quickly. Our server was friendly and attentive. There’s no wonder their rating is so high - fantastic!

Little hole in the wall place that is home cooking, like ma and pop style. Place is very nice service is top notch. Food is great, it’s hard to find good hash browns and this place is perfect. I give it 4 out of 5 as the biscuits and grave were like sweet. Not a standard gravy to me. Everyone has there own taste. Bet your as$ I’ll be back again

Great experience in a very quirky little Cafe that is only open for breakfast and lunch. Ron is a real guy and cooks all the food. Prices were reasonable and so was the food. It is out of the way and in an odd little building with parking in the rear.

Can't believe today was the first time I tried this place. Thanks to good friends, I made it! For parking there is one way in and one way out. There is plenty of parking in the back. As soon as you come in the door, you feel like you're at your grand folks house. Surrounded by vintage decor and warm personalities. Don't forget to sign your name on the whiteboard to get seated. Love how the staff have been there for years and customers that frequent there quickly become family where the waitors know you by nick names like "The Man" and know your order to how you like your eggs. I will be returning and love that you have a drive-thru window for pick-up orders when you wanna take this homestyle cooking made from the heart to home.

Had the double bacon cheeseburger, chili, Neffla soup. ...all fresh ingredients. Burger was fresh, hand made not frozen. Also had Ghoulash? Wow. ....very nice! Susie was a great waitress even tho it was hopping. All home made here. And the place has been remodeled recently. Breakfast is great as well. You can get anything, anytime off the menu.

Cozy café with good food/prices. Our waitress was kind and made sure we were taken care of. Expect a wait. We had about a 30-40 min wait before we were seated (arrived around 8:30). A bit excessive for breakfast, but they have chairs available and a list on a whiteboard to keep track of everyone who comes in. One potential customer decided it wasn't worth the wait and left after 10 minutes. Hopefully one day they can either expand or move into a larger location!

It's such a fantastic little Greasy Spoon! Be sure to stop by if you're passing through Rapid City! The line can be long, especially on the weekends, but it's worth the wait. The waitresses are awesome and hustle to get everyone fed. The corned beef hash is one-of-a-kind. When I ordered it, I was expecting a more crunchy, burnt-ends kind of corned beef hash. Yet, to my surprise, it was almost like a pancake made of potatoes, corned beef, and rich, white gravy. It's hard to explain...I'm probably not doing it any justice. 😅 If you're reading this, please don't think, "a corned beef pancake??" No, no, no...think: thick hashbrown with meat and gravy. There. Hopefully, I've cleared that up 😬🤣. Better yet, just try it...it is absolutely delicious and unique!

What a gem! Ron's Cafe is open 7-2, Monday thru Friday only. Make sure you catch it during the week. Quaint little locally-owned spot with AMAZING food. When you walk in the door, you are met with a self-serve wait list. Grab a marker and add your name & number in your party to the bottom of the list! I loved it! After one visit, Lorna our waitress, remembered us and what we ordered when we were there. Most of the customers are local regulars. Their menus are chalkboards on the wall. Prices include tax. They have a great children's menu as well. Don't expect quick food. This stuff is homemade. Recommend the pancakes, corned beef hash or the everything omelet.

Delicious food with that home cooked feel and plenty of it for a price that can't be beat. Staff and patrons friendly and entertaining. A must for breakfast. The corned beef hash is my go to.
