I
feel
bad
thinking
this
place
is
meh.
Most
Rapid
Citizens
(Rapid
Citians?
Rapidians?
You
know,
locals)
love
this
place
and
sing
its
praises
to
anyone
who
will
listen.
And
I
get
it.
Local
ice
cream
places
are
special.
This
one
has
only
been
in
this
location
for
a
decade
or
so,
but
there's
still
a
lot
of
nostalgia.
And
even
though
it's
a
newish
building,
it's
got
some
neat
old
school
callbacks:
umbrella
table
seating
out
front,
ordering
windows
outside,
cool
blue
neon,
giant
booths
inside.
But
the
ice
cream
is...
okay.
It's
really
just
glorified
soft
serve.
A
lot
of
the
flavoring
is
done
with
bottle
syrups.
It's
all
cold
and
sweet,
but
that's
about
it.
Compared
to
the
local
ice
cream
shops
in
other
towns
(I
think
about
Pierre,
Sioux
Falls,
Billings,
Cheyenne)
where
they
serve
real,
house-made,
high-fat
ice
cream,
it
really
can't
compete.
Don't
get
me
wrong
-
it's
still
a
neat
place
to
get
a
shake
and
go
hang
out,
and
we
do
-
it's
just
not
mind-blowing.
Set
your
expectations
accordingly,
and
you'll
have
a
fine
time.
