Fabulous, well-preserved historic monastery, which gives one an authentic experience of medieval Czechia.

This is a hidden gem. Beautiful historical monastery with a romantic atmosphere.

One of a few romanesque churches which survived centuries. The interior of the church is incredible, feeling almost modern with minimalistic decor and lots of white. The Premonstratensian monastery was founded in 1187, damaged during Hussite wars and renewed in baroque period. You can choose from 2 tours - both are nice, but I preferred the first one "Sacral buildings/monuments" which includes the church, chapel and convent buildings including garth. The guides were very pleasant and knowledgeable.

Some buildings are not yet renovated and are basically ruins. There is a nice little city museum hidden in the in-yard.

If you love the history of Christianity, this is a good place to look.
