Afternoon Tea on 16/05/22 After reading previous good reviews I decided to book an afternoon tea for my husbands birthday. When we initially arrived we were greeted by reception and all seemed really well however after we went into the restaurant there the service seemed to fall below standards, we waited 15mins to be asked what we would like to drink, totally understand there was a trainee member of staff who was very sweet and was not her fault at all that she was clearly not trained prior, however this was not the issue, the issue was the FOOD, it took 45mins for any food to get to us, the sandwiches were stale and most of the desserts were clearly been frozen and defrosted leaving very soggy tarts. Expected a much better experience as been to a sister hotel before unfortunately fell short.

My husband and I got married at Langshott in the most dreamy, cozy, and perfect winter wedding. Let me start by saying that I cannot imagine a more ideal venue. We wanted an intimate, slightly rustic but elegant, historic and romantic location for our happiest day. As an American, I've always dreamt of an English wedding and Langshott was so above and beyond what I had in mind. Our wedding ceremony, from the lead-up to the dinner and reception, went so smoothly we couldn't believe it. Even details we had forgotten about were taken care of by the Langshott staff. Not only is Langshott Manor picture perfect, but the accommodations are outstanding. We hired out the entire hotel for a night, and every family member or friend who stayed there couldn't stop remarking on the comfort of their rooms, the beautiful grounds, the attentiveness of staff. Everyone working there was so kind, gracious, and accommodating. For example, my maid of honor had to leave very early to catch a flight, and the hotel went out of their way to turn on the oven and cook her a special breakfast before they opened the main buffet! Whether you're looking to stay here for a cozy weekend or planning a wedding, my husband and I cannot recommend Langshott Manor enough. We're already planning an anniversary stay there in the next couple of years. It's just that magical.

What a fantastic old Manor house, firstly the staff was very attentive, helpfull and friendly. Secondly hotel and especially the room we booked was very very nice and relaxing, the hotel seating areas had log fires burning totally a chill out two days for our anniversary. Lastly the food, wow..the afternoon tea with bubbles on the first day fantastic took 2 hours to finish so good and very large , light meal that night...second night three course dinner in the restaurant excellent food couldn't find fault. Again very relaxed not rushed very happy with a two day stay...

Absolutely beautiful, visited for a 50th wedding anniversary tea party. The staff were very accomadating with my allergy. Cakes are lovely, especially the Scones with clotted cream. Afternoon tea is normally around £40, and I would visit again.

We were greeted on arrival by friendly staff. We actually arrived early as we mixed up our timings, and the staff accommodated us with no problem at all. The service was quick, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was all very fresh and tasted excellent! The grounds are always well kept, very pretty, and calming inside and out. We keep coming back and will continue to do so. Thank you for a lovely lunch once again.

Went for Sunday lunch, food was good and lots of it. Staff were attentive but nearly all the girls had holes in their tights and a couple had dirty clothes. Our reservation was down for afternoon tea even though we asked for lunch when booking. Staff seemed a bit disjointed and not sure what they were doing.

We had a very romantic night away in this Beautiful Manor hotel, we were welcomed by a very accommodating reception and shown our room which was gorgeous. We enjoyed the room to which we went down to the lovely bar with a giant fire place for a pre dinner drink which was great. We enjoyed a three course dinner which was lovely and very well presented with great service throughout. We finished the evening with cocktails in the bar and again the service was brilliant. In the morning we came down to breakfast to which again was set up beautifully and had an amazing view out into the garden area. Unfortunately this was the only let down as we got seated and had to wait 20 minutes for someone to come and take a tea and coffee order and to offer us a menu. We then waited in total 50 minutes for our food to arrive which wouldn't be a problem if the food was worth waiting for, unfortunately the breakfast was overcooked in some places and cold in others, definately not up to the standard we were expecting compared to the rest of the stay. The staff though made up for that and were so cheerful and kind. Was just a shame as the rest of the stay was amazing.

We got married there on 12th August. 2023 and my husband and I are so happy we picked this as our venue. Did everything go 100% perfectly? No, but I was told by some friends not to expect that on my wedding day and there were only very minor things that happened that did not affect the day in any way at all! We had exclusive use of the venue and all the rooms and everyone has said how beautiful the location was and how lovely the staff were and it really was the best day I could have asked for. We had 49 guests and it was the perfect size. I totally recommend it as a wedding venue! I was told over and over how it was like a fairytale and the setting really really was! If you are unsure, go and visit. I think you'll fall in love with it just like we did!nThank you to everyone who made the day what it was <3

The staff are great and a credit to the hotel as is the calm ambience of the hotel. It is like going back in time and staying at someone’s home. The afternoon tea was lovely but the hotel seems.. tired. The gardens have such potential but are so obviously unloved, without a proper gardener to tend it, which would truly level the place up. The main decor isn’t vintage and inkeeping, it’s cheap and modern, although it is ‘freshened up’ I guess. The place oozes potential - e.g. for a kitchen garden, classes, garden events and it just seems.. to cover the very basics required of a supposedly luxury (that’s so lost these days) old hotel living off a reputation of times gone by and chain-hotel marketing with no one to really make it unique. It would suit a pool and being boutique. It has the potential as an oasis of calm for retreats.. it’s lack luster and sad.

We booked our afternoon tea for 2pm, we arrived on time and we’re greeted warmly and seated immediately being told someone would bring our champagne shortly. This is then where the service went downhill drastically. We waited 30 mins until someone came over to ask us if we wanted tea or coffee, no champagne still. Hot drinks arrived, no food or champagne still. Champagne arrived finally 45 mins and were told food would be coming shortly. Well to cut a long story short, we waited 2 hours until our food arrived!!! people who had sat down after us had been served 45 mins before us, the table next to us had arrived at 2pm and were also forgotten! When we asked we were told they were short staffed, no apologies or explanation, we were just left to wait….service was bad. At 3.30 a new member of staff arrived at our tables asking for our name to check his list, he couldn’t find it until we said we were a 2pm booking, he looked shocked but didn’t say anything! He eventually bought our food 30 mins later with no apologies for delay, no explanation on food, just plonked it on table and left!!!!! We understand staffing issues in kitchen can cause delays but the unapologetic and disorganised service was inexcusable. Front of house is so important when things go wrong behind the scenes. Beautiful place and food was good [when it did arrive]but would not return. Really disappointed.

Superb afternoon tea, excellent setting, attentive staff We sat on the terrace overlooking the water and the gardens for a champagne tea Excellent quality for all our vegetarian choices. Only suggestion is that the venue should offer a slice of traditional cake rather than the multitude of mini cakes

We held our mothers wake at this place last month. We wanted it to be special so decided to go for Celebration Life package and paid for the top up price at £48.50 per head. When the buffet was laid out, it could barely feed 20 people let alone the 30 people we had paid for. The food ran out before people had even had a chance to serve themselves. When I complained to the manager, he said, this is what we offer for 30 people! I was shocked and upset. It was not what I was expecting from a hotel of this standard. I strongly recommend you do not use this hotel for this purpose. The location and setting was beautiful but the service from the management was totally disappointing.

My Uncle had his Wedding Ceremony and Reception here and it is a lovely intricate venue with lots of areas to chill and chat to people in. Great dance floor and decorations. Lovely area in the south east of Surrey. Friendly Staff. The sausage rolls were particularly good.

We were here for a wedding and it was delightful. Talking to the bride and groom a couple of days later they couldn't praise the whole experience enough. The food was fantastic. (Try the mini toad-in-the-hole canapés! Exquisite! ) The rooms are part of the package and are amazing; very large and well-equipped. The king-size bed gave us the best night's sleep we've had in some time. I'm tempted to ask where they buy their mattresses! Can't fault it.

Wonderful experience of afternoon tea. Good selection of delicious food for a classic tea with sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, cakes and macaroons. Wide selection of teas. Lovely atmosphere and good service. They even provided us with boxes to take away the cakes we couldn't eat! This was a Christmas present and fantastic experience

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Comfortable, impeccable decor, Combining old and new you feel a need to respect and care for this hotel and its surroundings as theres a very understandable need to keep the 'old'- in admirable effect. Evening dining, a delight to the eyes and delectable treat. Helpful, caring, efficient and very pleasant service. Highly recommend as a rest stop. Thank you for wonderful stay 😊

This is a Tudor house with amazing history that has been converted respectfully. The room we stayed in was fantastic, really comfortable bed, huge bath in a massive bathroom. Everything was spotless and the food was scrumptious. The staff were friendly and helpful, they made the stay very pleasant. The location, although very scenic, was very difficult to get to without getting lost.

Don't miss the turning to the hotel - the road becomes near impassable. We had a noisy water heater / boiler (Lingfield) from 3am in which seriously hampered our sleep which is a shame as everything else was brilliant. We will return, just not to the same room.

Just come home from a weekend break away, was greeted by Zoe the receptionist on arrival with a glass of champagne 🍾 ....what can we say, we were made to feel we were the only residents there, we stayed in a luxury room overlooking the pond, very clean and inviting, the restaurant staff were very knowledgeable and very attentive and the food was amazing, the whole stay was just what we needed despite the weather and we cannot forget the resident ducks. Thank you Langshott Manor Hotel, will definitely come back

From the tome we arrived to when we left we were made to feel very welcome. Zoe met us with a complimentary glass of champagne before showing us to our room. The room was beatiful, very spacious and had a fantastic view over the lake. The food was absolutely amazing and the restaurant staff were very attentive and friendly. I would absolutely recommend the Langshot Manor hotel and look forward to visiting there again in the future

Visited this hotel for afternoon tea for my Mum’s 80 th birthday after train strike stopped our trip to London last minute. It was a fabulous experience not only are the grounds beautiful, but we were greeted with expectational customer service from the welcoming receptionist Zoe, who was so knowledgeable and helpful when I discussed a future plan to visit the hotel. The staff servicing our afternoon tea were lovely too, Liv and Louisa made my Mum feel so special and they were so attentive. I must also say to the chef, the afternoon tea was perfection! The scones are by far the best I’ve had and the homemade cakes were divine. It was all excellent, value for money and plentiful- We had to bring it home, and again it was no problem as we left with our little boxes. I would recommend this hotel on both food and service - thank you

I enjoyed my time at this hotel greatly! The staff where hospitable and courteous and I felt that they had a sense of pride in their work. I sincerely hope this place’s latter days are as long and prosperous as it’s former ones have been rich and full of history. If you’re ever curious about the lineage of this residence, do read the history page in the guest book. I hope to visit again soon. Best of wishes to all from your friend across the Atlantic Ocean and guest. -Michael. P.S The breakfast service is also absolutely delicious

Nice grounds and nice staff. The suites at ground floor did not suit our expectations but the staff was very kind to help us move to the Alexander House, 10 miles to the South.

Lovely old building, room was huge and bathroom was great too. Hallway bit of the room needed more of a hoover. The food is sensational!

Lovely old building with lots of character. All the food we had was really tasty and portions were great. Check in was delayed because they were slow to turn the rooms around, but only a small issue.

Thank you Langshott Manor for a splendid weekend. From providing afternoon tea with our guests, to dinner with another, and a party on Sunday with shifting numbers, your staff were brilliant. I want to mention Amanda specifically, who must have been driven to distraction by all our changes of seats and menus etc. but handled it with such good nature, she deserves a star. We have stayed with you before and will most certainly stay again (If you will have us!)
