Possibly the best Filet Steak I have ever had in any Restaurant...#popeyesteak. Awesome views right on the Vaal river at Boemhof. With so many interesting dishes on the menu we will need to return a couple times to try them all....

Great setting on the Vaal River beautiful views and the restaurant setting overlooking the Vaal River makes the experience so much more special. The well maintained bar and restaurant area gives you the feeling of relaxation and is topped of with friendly services. With the large conference facilitie ,restaurant ,accommodation and the bar area makes Plek vannj Visarend a must visit.

Great place with a great couple that owns the place. Food is very nice and also the prizes. One of the best views over the river. The sun sets there is spectacular. Fishing is also very nice right in front of the Lodge.

I really love the food at Plek vanni Visarend. Every time I went there, the food has been good. Also there is a choice of Sushi, which is also very tasty. Don't expect the Sushi order to be fast, since there is only one chef. But the ingredients are always freah and tastefull. It has a good atmosphere but can get busy at time, mostly Sundays when they have buffets running. Great services and friendly staff. Make sure to give Plek vanni Visarend a visit while in Bloemhof, or when looking for some good food !

A lovely little place to sleep over for one night. Prices are good with great food at the restaurant. I specialy appreciate the extra effort the staff did to come in a bit earlier to make me breakfast as I was traveling for work.

Being from out of town the place lacked atmosphere, but this could be because we got them on the wrong night. Very beautiful view of the dam I would recommend eating there.

Twice in one week my fiancé and I were both served totally disgusting food. You order a 500g Fillet Steak and get two thin pieces of fatty rump. I'm disgusted that they underestimate my intelligence! The second visit I was served a raw potato, the owner said it was the farmers who could not harvest the potatoes on time because of loadshedding😃!!!! My Eishbein was not edible due to undercooked skin/fat surrounding the top of the pork, it was raw and extremely fatty, not edible for human consumption.The garlic snails we ordered was floating in melted butter without any taste of garlic. Sad to mention; second time a fool but not a third. I will not recommend plek vanni visarend to anyone.

Just a pity that they have the worst service around. Went there again yesterday for a quick meal after arriving from Johannesburg. What bad service. Wanted to sit at a table but found it dirty and sticky due to the previous evening drinking. I went to another table but found that most of the chairs dirty. Waiters do not clean tables after customers leave before the next arrive. Waitresses and personnel are definitely not trained by management to be prompt and sufficient. I ordered a pizza after the waitress recommended it. I received it 80 minutes later with it flouting in the source which means that it was not prepared well. At that stage i was so hungry that i just ate it. The worst service that i have ever encountered. Not a very pleasant place to visit if you require good service. Trucks goes through Bloemhof and some of the other accommodation has this problem but Plek Vanni Visarend is away from the busy roads. This place is number one in my books
