First and foremost, CrossFit IS NOT A CULT, it is a community. OK, now that we got that out of the way, let's get on with the review. I've been coming to CrossFit Rise for about 3 years now (2 years at a different CrossFit gym) and this is hands down the best box I've ever been to. They have a huge space, great equipment, knowledgeable coaches, and most importantly a great network of people/friends. If you're completely new to CrossFit, worry not since you will begin in a fundamentals class (Fitness Class) which will teach you proper form and all of the weightlifting and gymnastics movements before graduating to the Performance Classes. I know it can feel intimidating walking in to a CrossFit gym but everyone is friendly and helpful here so there's nothing to sweat over. Also, all of the workouts can be scaled down if you're hurt or aren't able to do all of the movements. There's basically no reason not to join this gym. You'll meet a ton of new people and learn to push yourself mentally and physically further than you ever thought possible. Why are you still reading this? Go and contact CrossFit Rise and join in on the fun workouts!

The hardest part was taking the first step but the team at CrossFit Rise does an amazing job of easing you along. CrossFit Rise is by far the most comprehensive CrossFit program in the Chicago area. They don't clump the beginners and more experienced members into the same classes like many other gyms do but really focus on technique and quality of movements before moving you up to the more advanced classes. Rise is more than just a gym and there is family/community atmosphere. Joining has helped transform me physically and as a person. The 7-day free trial is a great way to start.

Any athlete would be able to train to their peak potential in this facility. Whether your goal is to simply blow off steam exercising, improve as an athlete or train for a career competing in sports this gym can help you reach your potential. This gym has everything from knowledgeable coaches to top notch equipment that is guaranteed to push anyone beyond their previously imagined limit. But what I really want to stress is how safe and clean this environment is. First of all I have never seen anyone get injured or even come up lame during a workout. This isn't luck. All classes begin with targeted stretches, warm ups and practice reps that prepare everyone, no matter what their skill level is, to be able to complete the lifts and workouts without hurting themselves. Finally and I cannot stress this enough to whoever is reading this (I'm sure nobody is) the amount of time and care the coaches devote to making sure the gym is clean is nothing less than inspiring, and I'm basically uninspirable. Rise was forced to close down, like every other gym during the current pandemic. Upon reopening this is honestly the safest I've felt in a public space, and that's because of the amount of cleaning the coaches do to prepare for each class. If you are at all worried about returning to your regular gym because of the current pandemic then give this gym a try. You will feel safe (and exhausted). Sincerely, Dr. Mike Maradik

I've been coming to Crossfit Rise about 3 months now and love it! The coaches are great and very knowledgeable. I've tried out another crossfit gym in the past and did not feel comfortable there because the movements were not taught properly. Justin teaches the beginners class at Rise and is a fantastic coach who ensures we learn the proper movements and technique. I was intimidated when I first started crossfit but now I am so excited to get to the gym everyday and see what new skills I can learn. The atmosphere at Crossfit Rise is very welcoming and encouraging and I've made many new friends there.

I've been a member at Rise for almost 4 years and it keeps getting better! The coaching staff is amazing and the experience they bring to the gym is incredible. Regional athletes, Olympic coaches, etc. It's incredibly motivating! Rise has a great atmosphere that can make anyone who walks in feel welcome immediately. The multi teared programming is excellent for those who come to crossfit with all ranges of athletic backgrounds. From former college athletes to those at the beginning of their fitness journey, there's something for everybody. The progress you make in the sport of crossfit is unlike any other sport I've played. It's fun, empowering and constantly varied. You never get bored!

I've been coming to Rise since July and I love it! Justin is a fantastic coach and I have learned so much from him! I had been working out prior to joining Rise, but had never tried CrossFit. I was super nervous it would be too hard, but it's been wonderful! All of the coaches work with you to teach you the right movements and will help you adjust the workouts to fit your needs.

Awesome facility with friendly, knowledgeable coaches to help you become stronger and more fit. They have a class specifically designed for beginners so that you learn proper and safe movements patterns to avoid injury (Justin is one of the best coaches I have ever met for beginners, as he really takes the time to teach you correctly and has a great sense for how the body should move). They also have a performance class which is a step above the beginners/fitness class, and a competition class as well. They have one of the best Olympic weight lifting coaches working at the gym to help you become a better weight lifter if that's what you want. Plenty of class times throughout the day as well as open gym times. Great community and great people!

I was a member at CF Rise for 4.5 years before moving away from Schaumburg, IL. I was incredibly sad to go! CF Rise is more than just a gym, it is a family. The coaches at Rise really know their stuff, and go above and beyond helping you learn the lifts/movements while also maintaining safety. When I had first started, I had no experience with lifting and I was not a very athletic person... I have grown so much as an athlete since then! The atmosphere is inviting and everyone is friendly. I highly recommend checking out CrossFit Rise, whether you are a novice or an elite athlete, or just dropping in -- they offer many classes for your experience level!

Great Gym Better People. I stopped in here after work one day to get a quick workout in. I was immediately welcomed by Thomas the coach and he introduced me to the workout and the class members for the day. The atmosphere was fantastic, the locker rooms were clean, and best of all the community was friendly. I would highly recommend Crossfit Rise to anyone in the area that is looking to drop in or is looking for a positive gym environment to change their life. Great work Thomas, and other fellow coaches, I will be spreading the good word.

Gym that gives you the ultimate freedom. Want to workout at 2am, you got it. Open on all holidays. Just use your key fob to get in and workout.

I was in town for a conference and dropped in twice. I was able to experience coaching from two of the three owners, Justin and Mucia. Both were incredibly welcoming and clearly very passionate about training. The programming was excellent and the facility is enormous and clean with all of the equipment that you would want and hope for in a CrossFit gym. I would absolutely come back if I find myself in the area again.

😠 Absolutely hate this place. I cancelled my membership in June and suddenly got charged again in December. My bank got it refunded but now crunch calls me multiple times a day, for over a week. I've blocked their number and now my bf is receiving calls. It feels like a toxic ex that won't accept the...

👍👍 My husband and I saw an ad on Facebook for $1 at P3 Martial Arts in 2016 for the 4th of July sale. I could NOT pass up 6 weeks and a free t-shirt for that price. It was also awesome to see they allowed 3 year olds into their program, as most places start with 5 year olds. My son had his first cla...

👍👍 I was skeptical about Orange Theory because the people who I know who went there act like it's a cult--what goes on at OTF is a source of constant conversation. However, you don't have to be cultish to love the workouts, to love the coaches and the staff who work there. First, during COVID, they did...
