I signed up for a free trial for my 8 year old son and sadly it’s not what I expected. I was excited too because I believe bjj is perfect for my son. Its his first time there and the coaches did not pay attention to him not even once. They knew it was his first time but he received no guidance at all. He was there doing his own thing. All the other kids had different levels of experience and the coaches worked with them more. I get it, my son is way behind the other kids but how can he learn the basics. He doesnt even know what a sprawl is. There should be a separate coach for beginners. It was a bad first impression for me.

My son was having problems at school, so I signed him up to help his self esteem, get him more physically active and to help with his discipline. He has only been going for a month, but I have already seen a positive change! Luiz is great when he started out and would show him the moves step by step and he is very encouraging. My son was very apprehensive at first after observing the more seasoned students. But I did not let him quit and he enjoys going. He likes going home to show his new moves to his dad!

LCCT has become my daily place of peace, reset, and perspective. I started 1yr & a half ago & it has truly been life altering; not to mention shedding off 35+ pounds on my journey so far, I’ve experienced a new confidence within me, that I’m able to apply in other areas of my life. The honor of working with Professor Luiz in itself, has been humbling & gracious; direct lineage stemming from Rickson Gracie, is quite rare & the culture of respect/ self discipline is a wholesome lesson in itself. The patience the coaches have had with me is highly appreciated, having started with zero experience. Training partners have become great friends & as skills are being developed, it’s super fun! Great environment to challenge yourself & progress into your potential. I look forward to many years of training with sharpened techniques, God willing. Blessed to train on the mats of Champions. World-class BJJ Gym, with knowledgeable coaches. Many empathetic training partners, who focus on technique development through a safe training regime. The LCCT family is also very warm and welcoming.

I’ve been training Jiu Jitsu for a very long time and have met many coaches and training partners. But I have learned more within this one year of training under coach Luiz, than I have in all my years of training Jiu Jitsu. Not only that the enviornment is family friendly and welcomes everybody with open arms. I definitely recommend everyone to come try a free class! Hope to see you there oss!!!

I've been going for a little over 2 months now and coach Luiz and Jr. are amazing! They spend the time that's needed with the new guys to give them the coaching they need to succeed. Not an intimidating place at all, everyone is very accepting and will work with each.

I first met Coach Luiz ~7 years ago as a fresh blue belt when I came back to the area to visit family, using LCCT as a drop-in gym. I was so impressed that when my work brought me back to the area in 2019 I decided to make LCCT my home gym. Coach Luiz is a 4th degree black belt under Rickson Gracie. As such, his game and his teaching style is focused heavily on fundamentals; the importance of posture, creating and maintaining frames, controlling distance, efficiency in movement, conservation of energy etc. A lineup of his most notable students would be a murderer's row of BJJ/MMA juggernauts, each more fearsome than the last(!), but the man himself is friendly, funny, humble and a very patient teacher who clearly enjoys what he does. LCCT as an organization offers teaching/instruction in BJJ at all skill levels (adults and kids) with classes 6 days a week (Sundays closed) and open mat sessions on Fridays. The monthly tuition is based on how many classes you plan to attend in a given week and can changed to suit your needs. Private lessons are also available, just ask!. LCCT is not the cheapest option in town, but for the quality of instruction, the price is more than fair. Support staff is very friendly and quick to work with you to pick a plan that works for you. Excellent gym. Come check it out!

This is the best Brazilian jiu-jitsu training gym in all of Chicago-land. Luiz and the whole Family are great people and they care so much about the kids and the adults who train at their gym. The training is second to none with Luiz being a multi time world champion and black belt under Rickson Gracie. Learning self defense and the “gentle art“ is a life-changing experience. All of the instructors are so knowledgeable and whether you are looking to compete in tournaments or just want to get in shape and be able to defend yourself, this is an amazing place to be able to train. Start today and change your life! You don’t need to get in shape first and you don’t have to have any specific skills, you will learn everything you need to know by starting with the beginners classes and working up to more advanced classes.

My 9-year-old daughter and I started training at LCCT about five months ago, and we love it. It's a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Luiz is a fantastic head instructor and is a high-level black belt under Rickson Gracie. Whether you're a 40-year-old parent (like me) or a 20-year-old high-level athlete, Luiz encourages and challenges you to get better. He's extremely passionate and invested in LCCT, and you will feel that on day one. I've bonded with many other students, there are no egos, and everyone is willing to share their knowledge of jiu-jitsu with you. Chris at the front desk is always friendly and will help you get whatever you need. The gym facility is clean. There are new Zebra mats that are wiped down twice a day. Everyone washes their feet before getting on the mat. Training jiu-jitsu at LCCT is fun, but get ready to train hard (safely!). It may seem intimidating to walk into the gym for the first time. Trust me, I felt the same way and hesitated for years, but I'm glad I finally did it. It will change your life for the better. Everyone that starts jiu-jitsu wishes they had started 1, 5, 10, or 20 years earlier. So, come in and start training with us now - you are always welcome at LCCT!

When I first started here I was in pretty poor health. It was difficult to walk into the class. After about 3 years I was in the best shape of my life. I didn’t take up BJJ to compete in the tournaments (although I might one day). My aim was to become more disciplined as a person. When you learn martial arts from someone who trains all these UFC fighters, you feel more secure that you can handle certain situations if necessary. De-escalating aggression becomes a superpower once you learn to spot someone’s imbalances (yours included). Making friends is easier also, because the only real fight is the daily struggle for self improvement. I admit, seeing your coaching team on Pay Per View events is an additional cool point :)

Coach luiz is awesome here. I really love his small man jiu jitsu mindset and it’s hard to find a small coach this technical in the Chicago land area. I’m a huge fan of the training here!

Great program, the coaches are amazing, it shows that they have caring staff. Multiple times where my child was upset due to not winning a session or some outside factor and I loved how the coaches talked him through it.

My whole family (45m,44f,9m) has been going to lcct since summer/fall of 2022, and we LOVE it. Our kiddo does kids class on Tuesday and Thursday, we do adult no gi the same days. The coaches and the other participants are just generally amazing. I cannot say enough good about this gym. They're family friendly, very focused on building the team and skill development. I cannot believe the things my body can do that I had NO IDEA I could do! If you're thinking about giving it a try, please join us! Super fun, informative, and great for all skill ranges!

Disappointed in their new policy.I had two kids in their class for two months until they updated their policy. If you’re kids miss a class they are not allowing make up. But yet you still pay up. For whatever reason if you’re kids miss a class (sick,or vacation) your out of luck. I checked other places and this does not seem to be the norm as they claim. This place could be a lot more cleaner but they don’t seem to prioritize sanitation. Most places hav e a system in place that gives you a certain amount of time to make the class up.

Great training from top tier world champion black belts and a very friendly atmosphere with lots of support from everyone that trains. Very clean with brand new mats. Highly recommended for anyone that wants to try BJJ.

We love this place and the all coaches. Waiting area is small though and no cups for water. Waiting area on bjj side can be improved. Single use recyclable not plastic cups can be used. Yes I know places with cups in gyms even for kids. All my concerns are not that important, my kids love this place and always ready to go for class. Thanks to Luis and all coaches. We are happy to be a part of lcct family.

👍👍 My husband and I saw an ad on Facebook for $1 at P3 Martial Arts in 2016 for the 4th of July sale. I could NOT pass up 6 weeks and a free t-shirt for that price. It was also awesome to see they allowed 3 year olds into their program, as most places start with 5 year olds. My son had his first cla...
