The words to describe this place include elegant, lovely, delightful, decadent. The location is three stars because there’s really no great reason to come to this area other than the Oakwood Inn. But the grounds on which it sits are beautiful and well thought out. If you are passing through or even remotely in the area, stay here! The decor is elegant from the rose china served with breakfast and the luxurious bed to the lush garden grounds. The owners are absolutely delightful and accommodating as well. Would definitely stay again and will recommend to all.

We absolutely love this place. The rooms are beautiful and well cared for, the hosts are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is absolutely delicious. It’s a great mix of classic rustic B&B style but with modern conveniences and amenities. My wife and I have stayed here twice in the offseason just to get away and we’ll definitely come back again.

Went on a women's retreat here and it was fantastic. The rooms were perfect with jacuzzis which I loved. The service was wonderful. And the breakfast was awesome too. We are planning on coming again next year. Can't wait. We also walked the trails too. Had to be a little careful cause this time if winter you can expect a little ice and snow but for the most part it was just wet. I took several pictures on the walk. Saw a few deer and a buffalo statue that looks real from afar. Pretty Neat-O! Thanks for everything Oakwood Inn.

This experience was a retirement gift , from my boss, coworkers and parents of the children at the daycare where I was a 1 year old teacher. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before. Oakwood Inn was more than we ever imagined! Bridget and Bill were super friendly. And Maggie too!! Breakfast was fabulous! I would highly recommend this place!!

This was my first bed and breakfast experience and it was very enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast tasted amazing and the presentation of breakfast was perfect. The staff was very friendly. I bought a gift card to give to a friend. I will stay again.

The Oakwood Inn sets the standard for amazing Bed & Breakfasts. Located in the middle of the Okiboji area, all attractions are easily accessible. The grounds and facilities are beautifully maintained making for a relaxing getaway. The food is sure to spoil you! Breakfasts consist of 3 courses delivered by the host with extra descriptions of each item. We stayed for 2 nights. Day 1 featured homemade bananas foster, apple cinnamon muffins, and a smoked ham quiche. Day 2 featured spiced apples, pumpkin spice scone, and creme Brule French toast with sausage. They also offer their own personal coffee blend to help get your day started. Definitely on our list for a return visit!

My wife and I stayed at this bed and breakfast for our wedding night 12 years ago under different ownership. It was a beautiful experience then and it was a beautiful experience under the new owners as well. Breakfast was fantastic (they were even able to accommodate a gluten free diet), the building was quiet (no kids allowed unless the entire building is rented out), and everything was clean and comfortable! Both times we’ve stayed it’s only been for one night, so we didn’t really get the opportunity to enjoy ALL of the amenities available to guests, but it would be a very comfortable place to stay for several days. My four stars for the location are only because of its proximity to the highway. Sitting on our shared balcony, there was quite a bit of traffic noise mixed with the beautiful sounds of nature in the gardens. All in all, we very happily plan to be back!

We love the property! It is relaxing to sit outside, swing and watch the birds. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is a very enjoyable experience. It’s always something yummy! Bill and Bridget do a great job anticipating the needs and wants of the people who stay with them. We really enjoy spending time here!

My husband and I stayed for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted at check in with champagne and cookies. We were then given a choice to have breakfast in our room or in the dining area. The food and service was excellent. The helpful information and suggestions provided about restaurants and transportation also made at check in, made our first night out less stressful and much more enjoyable. The grounds were beautiful and the room was very clean and cozy. We loved our stay and hope to return for another visit.

Very beautiful place in a good location. Our room was nice and clean and very spacious. We had a whirlpool which we never got to use as we weren't able to get the time to relax till later in the evening and they ask you not to use the whirlpool after 10 P.M. We asked for breakfast in our room and gave out breakfast preferences to be delivered at 8 AM unfortunately we had to call and ask where it was since we never received it but the woman who answered the phone somehow had us placed in the dining room at 8:30 AM even though she asked us twice and we responded room service. By the time the food came it was barely warm and looked like it had been sitting for some time. Unfortunately we did not receive the same great service as most who posted their own review.

Romantic escape, friendly staff, breakfast was excellent and I loved that its Adults-Only with Bed and Breakfast amenities. The rooms are very comfortable and you'll love how comfortable the beds and bedsheets are. They even provide suggestions for places to visit, places to eat as well as what's happening around town during your stay. Bill and Bridget are excellent hosts. I highly recommend it and will be staying there again.

Exceptional and delightful inn in the center of Okoboji lakes and near restaurants and sites (bike trails, Pearson art center, Nature center, etc.). Hosts Bill and Bridget have created a wonderful inn experience with a beautiful b&b style hotel. Rooms are nice-sized with soaking tubs and fireplaces. The gardens are gorgeous. The breakfasts are incredible - homemade eggs, etc, with a daily pastry! I would highly recommend the Oakwood and stay again!

My husband and I and our senior dog, Annie, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is beautifully kept, the rooms are immaculate and had everything we needed and the homemade breakfast delivered daily to our room was to die for. We so appreciated the kindness of the owners, Bridget and Bill, and the other staff we encountered were friendly and courteous. The fact that they welcome dogs and we could bring our Annie with us was icing on the cake. We would definitely return.

We stayed for three nights in a whirlpool room and enjoyed every minute of their hospitality. The grounds are beautiful and very peaceful to sit and read a book. The Inn owners are attentive to every detail and breakfast in the morning is delicious. The cinnamon rolls were amazing. The Inn is located near all the great attractions. We only wish we had more time to enjoy being on the lake during our trip. We can’t wait to come back!

For the second year in a row we spent our anniversary at the Inn. It is a lovely home combining an old fashioned elegance with all the modern touches that makes life comfortable. It was also extremely clean. The garden outside our French window was also very attractive. In fact it obviously improved between our visits. Our hostess was very welcoming and cordial. She had. no problem taking the time to make suggestions as to where to go and eat, and just to chat. Which reminds me to mention the breakfast she served in the morning on a tray in our room (though they also have a lovely dining room) was delicious. I especially enjoyed the blueberry pancakes. All in all, God willing, I hope we can come back next year!
