Livingstone Tourism Academy are by far one of the best in the business(if not thee best). I felt very much involved and included in everything we did at the Academy. All the facilitators are very professional and they make it easy for you to work with the rest of the group. I'd definitely recommend livingstone to anyone that seek professionalism, proper structure, loads of fun and so much more.

I had a great experience with the online zoom calls conducted by Jacques and Jeanette. I really enjoyed doing the course in the comfort of my own office, that is a familiar environment without needing to drive anywhere. The 2 hour sessions were well prepared, interesting as well as interactive and enabled me to still get a normal days work in. Had tons of fun preparing my own tour guiding video with my trusted companion and friend James – whom I met virtually (at least initially that is) on the course - and I am grateful for the professional assistance and feedback with the research project and itinerary provided by Livingstone. Even the oral exam with Jacques I didn’t find daunting, as he created a friendly and relaxing atmosphere which made it very easy. I can only recommend giving this online course a go and I am sure it will stand everyone well in the future once tourism in SA is thriving again!!! Gert NB: also Ronel is the best in setting up the course, keeping you on track and running the show in the background.

A big, big thank you to Livingstone Tourism Academy to host the online tourist guide course. A well dosed amount of information per day during the online sessions which gives enough information to complete the course for the rest of the day and not to overwhelm you with loads of information at once. Jacques and Ronell, 2 super hosts during the online sessions and the assessments. Jacques knows exactly how to take away your nerves during the oral assessments and makes you feel comfortable. Giving everyone the same/similar mark for their work is a form of intellectual communism. Equality and fairness promote people starting equally not finishing equally despite talent/effort/intellect. You are not promoting good tourist guides, but rather removing any standard by which one measures the performance of an individual where skills and/or knowledge is required for success. It's seriously unethical and downright discriminatory.

My own and others in my group's experience this year during Covid 19 was a dangerous and exciting experience. Our study programme was rudely interrupted but thanks to the innovative developments of Jacques and his team at Livingstone Tourism Academy we were able to persevere and make a success of the course. I am now busy with the Garden Route section of the course and will soon qualify to be a guide for the entire Western Cape.
