We stopped on a Saturday afternoon and drove through Old Town Buckner following the signs to Tuscono's. We thought it was going to be a vineyard. Instead we found a wood oven pizza restaurant. We were seated and immediately served olive oil with herbs and fresh made from scratch cheese bread. We ordered our drinks which came quickly. One of the servers recommended the spinach artichoke chicken pasta, as it was the most popular entree. Our waitress informed us that the Tuscano pizza had placed in a Las Vegas competition. So of course we ordered a small to share. We had oodles of food! And it was so good! And hot! The waitress was generous with our bread refill also. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I felt like I had made some new friends. We were jetting off to a movie and didn't have time for dessert. But we will return to try the desserts and other entrees. This is worth the drive to Buckner. Perhaps you can visit some of the other little shops in the newly updated Old Town area.

Updated menu is out!!! I got the pork chops with apple glaze and didn't regret it at all. The pork chop was so tender you didn't even need a knife. The glaze was packed with apple flavor anda hint of smoke. Best part, it came with 2 pork chops!!! I couldn't finish it all and had to bring the pork chop home. My Dad got Veal parmesan with fettuccine and said it was delicious. The veal was a large serving and was crispy on the outside and perfect tender in the middle. My son got the classic trio of Alfredo, chicken parmesan and lasagna. Sauce was on point, chicken perfectly cooked and lasagna was packed with flavor.

Used to love it here. The Bourbon Glazed Salmon came on a plate by itself. (See picture) Loved it!!! Now it comes served over rice and it's not good. I used to drive to Buckner 3-4 times a month just to get the Salmon.

Although we have lived in Kansas City for some time, my wife and I had not been to Tusconos prior to our visit last night. We had heard from friends that it was a great place to eat and they did not steer us wrong. We did beat the Friday evening rush we were told and the place did fill up a lot more while we ate. The appetizer came out quickly as well as the salad. Our main dishes were both plentiful, hot and flavorful. The service was attentive and the cost was what I would consider normal for a well run restaurant with great and service. We will be back.

Went here for lunch and I was not disappointed with the Lasagna, tasted home made just like grandma used to make. Had a Cesar salad to start and a few beers, everything was perfect!

This place is pretty nice! We came for our anniversary and it was really fun. It's upscale but not overly fancy. Nice romantic atmosphere. There's also a seating area outside, we were inside. Chocolate cake is a must...the slice is gigantic!

Stop trying to do different foods. You are a destination Italian restaurant. Use top ingredients and your old recipes. Ambience, good , hot, tastful dishes bring your customers year after year. So disappointed the last 2 visits.

I am not one to write reviews, but I was SO disappointed in the experience I had yesterday at this restaurant, which is sad because the other times I've been there, I've left happy. Everything that could possibly go wrong, went wrong. They were busy when we got there, but it was starting to slow down. I noticed a table when we entered that was empty and figured they would sit us there (my son & I), no they told us it would be a 10-15 minute wait. I was fine with that. The hostess saw that I was looking at the empty table, then another table next to it because empty and they still didn't seat us. Fifteen minutes goes by and the hostess finally sat us down on the FIRST empty table that I saw when I came in. We waited over 10 minutes for a waitress to come over and she came over because I finally asked someone if a waitress was going to come over. Turns out, our waitress was the same one that went by our table about 15 times and saw us waiting. We ordered our drinks and food right away because we were hungry and it took an eternity to get our drinks, let alone the food that took over 40 mins to get. I ordered a SALAD and it took 40 mins to get. I go to this restaurant for their BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad because it WAS good. Now, it was horrible. They have changed it completely and have gone the "cheap" route with it. The chicken they used before, they no longer use. I got two "grilled" patties that weren't grilled, just thrown on the plate, with barely any lettuce and barely any pepperoncini's. They used to give a good portion salad that I had to take half home and now, that is NOT the case. My son got a pizza that was cold and he didn't like it so we sent it back and they still wanted to charge us for it. They also were charging his kid's drink as an adult drink. I told her I was not paying for the pizza that was sent back and the drink that was suppose to be a kids drink included in the kids meal. She was reluctant to take it off but she finally did. Took forever to get out check as well, once I did I paid and left so quickly. HORRIBLE experience. A restaurant that I once enjoyed was ruined.

We went to eat there last night 9/16/23. There were 3 of us. I was so excited to share this place with my family because it was so good the last time I ate there with my Aunt. I will start of by saying they are EXTREMELY gluten free friendly which is a huge deal for me. My meal of The Spicy Penne Rustica with gluten free pasta and gluten free rolls was amazing! I'm giving this place a one star overall for how they handled things outside of MY meal. When we arrived we were seated after there was open bickering between the waitresses in front of us at the hostess counter about where we were going to be seated Once we were seated we waited 10 minutes for our waitress to show up and whej she did she firstly started complaining about being there at work for so long and that she just wanted to go home. Then it took forever for us to get drinks AFTER our bread had already been served to the table and we had to ask several times for them before they were brought to us. I will add two of us ordered water. We waited almost 20 minutes just to get water. Then my mom's food was extremely bland and when we let the waitress know she didn't try to fix it, she just took the plate and said there were a lot of cooks in the kitchen. We were only checked on once during our meal and we were there for a hour and a half. I had to catch our waitress as she was leaving other tables to ask for things like water refills and ketchup. I stopped at the hostess counter on our way out and let then know what had happened and she just said to call in the morning and gave me the morning managers name. One of the owners was in the next room and she never bothered to get out from behind the counter and go get him to let him know what was going on. My mom said she will not be going back. Overall I am deeply disappointed with the experience. I will again add they my Spicy Penne Rustica that was gluten free and the gluten free rolls were delicious. Everything gluten free is CLEARLY listed on the menu and the restaurant smells amazing and is spacious and clean.

We had a large party of twelve and our server was so accommodating! She kept our drinks full the wine flowing and the food was all served at once hot and delicious!

Out of the way? Yes, but out of the ordinary. You can get good Italian food at many places in KC but there were two standouts in my meal here that need applause. The smoked chicken wings could have been my whole meal. And the bread pudding would be worth a detour if you are out and about on the east side of KC. The taste explosion called the chicken wings appetizer starts with brined wings before they hit the large smoker in the back of the restaurant for significant smoky brown color and flavor. Then the crispy skins are fetched from the deep fryer and hit with a dry rub to increase the pleasure. If you need it, there's always ranch and a hot sauce on the side. So good, we had to have two orders. After our entrees, the bread pudding was such a delight. Filled with chocolate chips and covered with a brandy sauce accompanied with great vanilla ice cream, we dug our way through the five-inch chunk of bready goodness until it was no more. Although you often have no room to wait inside the restaurant when they get busy, it's worth the wait in your car and the drive to this quaint country town to try these special treats.

Awesome dinner. The rolls are made daily and are delicious. Oir spaghetti was so wonderful. Very tasty sauce and the meatballs were great. Can't wait to return.

I gave it a 3 because the waitress was really good. The chicken with artichokes and mashed potatoes was swimming in some kind of sauce. I wouldn't recommend it and I won't order it again. My wife had salmon which was really good. Except for the fish bones

The food here is PHENOMENAL every time. My family comes here for a ton of special occasions, and we love it here. The staff is great, everything is CLEAN, and so comfortable. I highly recommend everything on the menu. The pizza is crazy good. Dessert is amazing no matter what you get, and you just taste the passion in the food. I will always dine here.

My family loves a good Italian restaurant and BOTH of our last 2 "go-to" places have now either closed or changed hands (and is no longer good). Dad's requirement to call a place good is that it reminds him of his mom's cooking. We visited Toscono's in Buckner recently and, while it's not grandma's, it's close.. The prices are a bit high, a family of 4 should expect to spend about $100 without alcohol, but the food is pretty good. It's no Cafe Italia, but it is the best I have found since CI shut down. My dad had the shrimp Alfredo, mom got lasagna, and I got penne in meat sauce. We also ordered a 4 meat pizza to go so we could try their wood fired pizza (forgot to take a pic of it when we got it at the end of the meal). The ambiance is nice, quiet and clean. There is a small private room you can reserve, well appointed restrooms that are clean, "Sal" over looks the wood-fired stove which you can view from the main dining area, and a bar room with TVs that are not turned up so loud they bother the diners in the main room. Lovely art prints hang on the wall, as well as an original painting that is beautiful. The storefront is easy to find, and the outdoor space has a fountain that provides a nice backdrop and sound of bubbling water. They start you off with bread and seasoned oil, the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and we all enjoyed our food during the meal. The pizza though, was by far my favorite thing- it was old world Italian style, made in the wood fired oven, and was amazing!!! I'm so glad we decided to order one to go! Service was excellent, even when it started getting busy earlier than they expected, leaving their one server to cover all of the open tables in 2 rooms. We never felt forgotten and were also not constantly bothered. Overall a good experience.

Bread came with a ramekin of oil with a pinch of herbs. Motz sticks were frozen fried cheap. My Marcela chicken was thin dry chicken in a soupy sauce. Lava cake was just a cheap chocolate cake covered in cheap chocolate syrup. Over a 100 dollars for a meal with frozen cheap ingredients that weren't even cooked with the right flavor. The "homemade" Alfredo sauce was not good at all on my wife's cheap Alfredo chicken. Authentic my a**.

This is always a go to place for Italian for us. It is Fabulous, never been disappointed in anything we've ordered. It is a must to get dessert, the triple chocolate cake is Heavenly, it is to die for. The employee's are extremely polite and respectful. Also the Owners even takes the time to come around to the customers to make sure they have been taken care of. You won't be disappointed👍

I was skeptical when a relative wanted to take us out to Tusconos. With so many Italian restaurants, not many usually stand out. And with Kansas City not far, I wasn't expecting to find top notch food in Buckner, MO. Well, Tusconos pleasantly surprised us! Exceptionally pleasant staff; beautiful venue, including their charming patio; and from the bread they bring out with oil and spices to dip in, to their pizzas, and then dessert, it all tasted just so good! I would go back without a doubt!

Went tonight for the first time and was blown away. It started with bread unlike any we had tried before. It was not super crunchy or difficult to chew like most Italian restaurants. It was light, fluffy, but hearty enough to stand up to the seasoned oil. We then tried two pastas and the four cheese pizza. Everything was phenomenal. We had enough left to bring some of everything home. And as fabulous as the food was, the server / bartender, Owen, was just as outstanding. His recommendations were spot on and his service was second to none. Thank you Owen and Tusconos for a fabulous impromptu night out!!

This place is awesome. It's a short drive east of Independence, Missouri, and worth the drive. You get a lot of food for the money which is always very good. It's an Italian pasta and pizza place. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Always had a smile on his face. Kept our glasses fool at all times. It was the first time my friends had ever been there and they loved it.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants you can get a wonderful plate of Spaghetti at. I’m half Italian and do make my own sauce. My husband says it’s the closest tasting sauce to my homemade Spaghetti sauce, he has ever tasted. If you like Italian Spaghetti you have to try this restaurant, you won’t regret it. I like the Alfred sauce too.

You feel like your in Italy. Love the atmosphere. 4 of us dined together. The food tasted awesome and large portions. The prices are good, especially for what you got. Service was great. Didn't feel rushed at all. Definetly planning on going back.

The food was phenomenal! I did a pickup order as i was a vendor for the Buckner Festival and it was fresh and ready on time! Noodles were cooked to perfection and the sauce was mind blowing! The shrimp, chicken, and sausage were so tender and juicy, they melted in my mouth! The tiramisu was nice and rich! Gluten Free options are amazing! Toni was an amazing help and a great person to talk to!

😐 They don't take credit or debit cards. No problem with that. The food was freshly prepared, hot and tasty. Our server was nice. Smoking is allowed here and there is a no-smoking section which is a joke. While no customers were smoking while we were there, the dining area reeked of cigarette smoke. R...
