First time eating here we came close to the time they close the waitress was super nice and attentive and the food was soo good I got the chicken fajita taco that thing was huge, definitely enough for more than one person and my sister got the pork enchiladas which she enjoyed as well and it was all very affordable oh and the frozen margarita was really good too!!! Will definitely return

God forbid something is wrong with your order because apparently the customer is always at fault. I have never tried this restaurant and wanted to give it a shot but definitely shouldn't have. Poor customer service, lady at the desk pretty much assumed I was lying and had me in my car crying. All it was a simple order mix up and she got very rude with me. Didn't have a chance to taste the food but don't want to with her attitude either.

A place that I enjoy! It's always been clean, and the service is usually pretty good. I love the salsa here; I notice the salt in it, but it's well balanced and I REALLY like the consistency. The menu is about the same as in many great places in town. The meal is served on hot plates; looking good and tasting fantastic! Excellent value for the price.

Really wonderful service, excellent food, laid back atmosphere. I was having a bad day and our server really helped me turn it around. I think his name was Jacob and I'll be back to be his guest again. I wanted a frozen margarita but made with vodka instead of tequila and he made it for me and it was delicious. Nice Mexican music was playing and i just couldn't be happier with the experience, overall.

Restaurant was immaculate in cleanliness, food quality was awesome as always, the chef you can tell enjoys what they do. My only problem was with our server on the receipt it said his name was Jorge Ivan he seemed dismissive on the point of being rude, was on his phone in view of guests. Honestly it was almost like he didn't want to be there. Other then that I love Los Compas for awesome atmosphere and excellent food.

My wife and I went here to eat dinner and as always the food is great. We got the full order of chicken nachos to share. I recommend this place.

I got the taco, burrito and chile relleno. Taco was good. Burrito was good. However, the chile relleno was over cooked? The crust was thick and hard. The pepper it's self was dark green and shriveled. I'm assuming over cooked. I'd rather be under cooked at that point. Service was great. Other dish was chicken chimy. Had flavor and not dry. Salsa was probably in my top favorite! Mix a little of the hot and it's perfect! I'll try this place again. I accidentally gave a big tip 😬 But that's ok. He took care of us perfectly.. ☺️

We most recently went on a Saturday and arrived right at noon, no waiting to be seated. The service was friendly, professional and quick to arrive at our table. The food was hot, fresh, well-presented and delicious. The atmosphere was bright and colorful, the restaurant was clean. The only small negative I have is that the music was too loud, I believe it should have been lower so people could converse, maybe more like background music would have been better. This Mexican restaurant is one of our favorites.

As good as it gets in this area. Great atmosphere, with some fun decor. Service was great, and our server, Randy, was fantastic. They have a wide variety of dishes on their menu. The portion sizes are very generous, and from appetizers to dessert, their food is delicious. This has become our favorite place to eat Mexican food. Prices are very fair as well. Highly recommend this restaurant. I noticed a review on here from 3 years ago. The lady claimed her burger wasn't good. Seriously lady? You go to a Mexican place, and then complain about a bad burger? I cannot stop laughing.

The chips & sauce are okay. Not great but are complimentary. The menu has a lot of options and the portions are good size. Both the beans and rice that come with most entrees are very good. Prices are moderate and they have specials on Thursdays. The food comes out quickly and the place is very clean and well lit. They also have Mexican music playing overhead which is a great touch.

Decided to eat at this restaurant. Hardly any chicken or shrimp in this dish. If I wanted a salad I would of ordered that. I did send it back. The manager was very rude. We will not be eating here again. Very unprofessional.

I have ordered the same thing for the last 3 years. Today I ordered cheese dip which usually come with chips since its a "dip" They explained to me today that chips would no longer come with it unless u order an entree. I guess I'm drinking my cheese dip today 😊 Won't be ordering from here anymore!

The chips themselves are good and crispy. The mild sauce is flavorful but no heat at all. The spicy sauce is less flavorful but not spicy at all. I ordered a taco and burrito with ground beef. The meat wasn't seasoned or seasoned lightly. The cheese sauce that was on the burrito was good. My server was excellent, she checked in on me several times.

We ordered food through door dash and there was an issue with putting in a not on the meal that was for my friend with a dairy allergy. I called them 3 or 4 minutes after the order was placed to let them know there was an issue with door dash and that we needed that meal to not have any dairy on it. (No, this isn't a lactose intolerance. It's a go to the hospital in anaphylactic shock if there's accidental consumption, kind of situation.) The lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude and told me I needed to put it in special instructions next time (I already told her there was an issue where we couldn't) and then kept reading off each meal and saying it's not her fault if the kitchen already made the food. After about 7 minutes of arguing with me, I asked her to please go let the kitchen know there's an allergy. She came back and said that it was already made. I asked if it had cheese, butter, or sour cream in it. She said yes, it's already made. I asked her as politely as I could in this situation to please remove anything with dairy. She said again that it's not her fault and we need to use the special instructions. I told her that I'm not saying it's her fault, but I would appreciate some compassion because he could literally get poisoned if he has any dairy and I called the second it was noticed. She said she'd get it remade and hung up on me. Food has always been amazing. Have never had any issues calling about his dairy allergy before. But this has certainly soured what was supposed to be a nice night with friends.

I wish I had taken pictures of my food but both times I have been, it was top notch. Large portions and the food is excellent. I lived 2 miles from this place for over a year before giving it a try. Walked in and was immediately impressed with how nice the place was. I really cannot stress enough how good the carnitas platter was. I've been trying them everywhere now and none of them can even come close. Los Compas is now officially my favorite Mexican restaraunt!

Fun place to eat, great drinks, amazing food. The tacos were excellent. Parking very easy to park. Chips and salsa were great. Can't wait to go back

Loved their chips and salsa and margaritas. I had a half order of nachos and they were very tasty - guacamole was really good too. Service was great and our waitress was very attentive.

This is one of the BEST restaurants I've been to. The drinks are great and the staff is even better! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming!

In fairness, the 1st meal we bought since moving to the neighborhood, the food was great and we ate inside. The next time the meal was order from their sight. I had guests in town, and the food order was wrong, missing drinks and some of the food sent was extra dry as if it had been sitting for a while. Immediately when I contacted the restaurant for a refund on the food we couldn't eat, they told we they couldn't refund the company on their site for the delivery was responsible. For several day's each agency pointed to each I other. I decided to return the food to show we couldn't eat it.. and,, the owner sounded friendly and he was going to call the other company himself, took my number and said he would call me. Before leaving, being kind, I told Mr. Alex to consider the $70 a donation I don't want to take money from his family business. He insisted that was okay he would call me. I never heard back from him. Considered my money as a loss and prayed no other customer does not receive that experience. I'm new to Missouri and did not have money to lose after buying a home with little kids at home. Lesson learned! Donated to Los Compas.

I love this place. Have for years. However, the last two times food has been eh and the last time that waitress was not great. She'd walk away and get on her phone and instantly forget what she was doing. Never returned to check up on up, brings chips and salsa and no refills. The long time employees were great as usual though. I'll still go back bc all and all it's a great place.

Rude female owner, not sure of her name when take out doesn't go write. Great food but if you take out make sure you got all your food. My bad for not checking twice now in 3 months, and gas isn't cheap just to go back after you tortious and sauce. I was kinda aggravated going back and was told the girl that made my meal said it was all there. Sure it was and the woman owner accused me of being angry all the time when I come up to eat. I did eat a lot there but have always had the best service and tge best food. Tip really good and spend a good amount when we eat in. They have no problem with you dealing with your problem of not get all your food because it's your responsibility to make sure your order is complete and telling you so. Well to some degree they're write but I also can find another Mexican restaurant to spend my money. I will do just that. He the owner was ok to talk to but she is just rude or needs to pay attention to the faces of her costumes before accusing them of being a angry person all the time, so the meal costs me more not the restaurant. Gas isn't cheap, my bad.

Absolutely mint experience. Back in April, i had gotten off a planet comiccon visit to come here for a Chimichanga and the Mushrimp Delight. Very delicious. However, this time around? We visited and had a delicious meal of another mushrimp delight with a Peach margarita. Once again, another visit and well-spent. Cheers to the waiter and the cooks. Thank you very much.

This place is an absolute hidden gem! The wait staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is very flavorful and the drinks are amazing. I can not believe it took me so long to visit this place. Thank you Marisha for the recommendation this will definitely be a family staple from now on.

Staff is always friendly! At 5p on a Saturday evening the order and service was fast. Food was served hot and up to expectations for taste and authenticity. There is almost never a wait time to be seated and when there is, it's worth the wait. A great hidden gem in Independence

The last two times my friend and I have come here they stop serving us because we don’t order enough food in their eyes. imagine someone has $20 to their name and uses $10 of it to come get hot food someone made when they could go to the grocery store and get more food. as soon as we ordered two tacos each he brought the ticket at the same time and was done serving us including giving us salsa. petty, unprofessional and above unkind. be happy with the money I’m choosing to give you because for all you know it might be all I have.

Absolutely HORRIBLE take out service. They forgot half of our order and when I called the MANAGER refused to give us the rest of the food that we had ordered. I paid for fajitas and didn’t get everything that comes with the fajitas. We are regulars at this restaurant but I will no longer go there after the service we received tonight. Maybe if you’re going to have somebody taking to go orders than they should understand English. DONT have Hilda take your to go order if she can’t get it right the first time.

Our waiter was excellent, even had a good sense of humor BUT, the food was awful. The chips were heated in old oil and the salsa was just horrid. Our entrées were just as bad, they had zero flavor. Even after I brought mine hope to "fix" it, it was no good because it was initially bland.

Fast service Sunday afternoon 130pm . Delicious food (fried avocado with salsa ranch, chicken chalupa, tamale, steak taco salad) at good prices. Definately go again.

Love this place! We each have our go to favorites but once in a while we may fine tune it a bit or try something new all together. Our go-tos are myself, I enjoy the plate with a taco and 2 burritos. Sometimes soft taco, sometimes not. But the burritos usually one beef one steak, sometimes sub in for a chicken one. With Cheese and sauce please. I always have plenty left over for dinner the next night. My daughter has found a real treat, it's hard to find a truly good Philly Cheese Steak anywhere but if you have searched for one or just really enjoy them, then your search is over. Her preference is to ask for mayonnaise on it but she's equally as happy with it when she forgets to ask. Oh and the french fries that come with it are equally as fabulous, incredibly seasoned and perfectly cooked. You'd almost forget you were in a Mexican Restaurant well until you look at the other plates. Dad, Veggie Fajitas always fresh, hot, more than he can eat and exceeding expectations. He loves to make some of his leftovers with eggs for breakfast the for next two days. Their pre-meal Chips are fresh and warm and their sauce is wonderful, my daughter and I always ask for a mild sauce which always comes out fresh and warm like the chips. Great atmosphere, AWESOME, friendly staff, everyone is cheerful, kind and helpful. Great family friendly place.
