Construction started early 2000’s by Chinese contractors to be ready for World Cup Cricket 2007. For many many years this was a sugar plantation estate until the 1970’s when the sugar industry closed. There after it was used as pasture and grazing land for cattle, lots of cattle by who ever leases the land. Noticed was served to the owner’s of the paddock to find other areas to move his animals. The owners never found any suitable area and has to downsize his herds and eventually giving up cattle rearing. By early 2004 the area was under massive landscaping and soil testing in preparation for a new cricket ground.

Sir Vivian Richards Stadium is a cricket stadium located in North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda. It is one of the major cricket venues in the West Indies and has been named in honour of the legendary West Indian cricketer Sir Vivian Richards. The stadium has hosted various domestic and international cricket matches, including Test matches, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and T20 Internationals. It is a modern cricketing facility with state-of-the-art amenities. If you're a cricket enthusiast or interested in attending matches at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, you can check the schedule and ticket availability for any upcoming cricket events. Please note that my knowledge is based on information available up to September 2021, and schedules can change, so it's advisable to verify the latest information.
