We visited here in July 2023, it was fantastic. The animals looked happy and healthy. You get a very intimate experience and view of them all. I got to see a few animals from South America and Brazil that I hadn't seen before, or knew existed. There are lots of lovely trees around the zoo itself, the staff were exceptionally kind and friendly. A perfect zoo experience! I was also offered a teacher's discount (I am a school teacher in New Zealand), if I provided proof/ID, so educators - be sure to bring your ID with you!

I would definitely go again! The place is clean, the animals are taken well cared; you can see that by the size of the places where they are kept and we were able to see the workers feeding, cleaning... I would suggest going later in the afternoon or early morning because of the hot weather.
