We stumbled across this place while driving the Kystricksveien. As we are British atheists we skipped the museum as the religious poetry would probably be wasted on us. However, I was blown away with how they had carved out the granite to fit the museum in between. The stone is just stunning and it's amazing to think of the work involved to do this. The grounds were also very pleasant with a walk to the lake, church, cemetery, grass roofed buildings and picnic benches. The cafe was also great, with a nice view of the water and good selection of cakes, that the staff helpfully talked us through. The lunch menu also looked good.

OK. The buildings and area around was clean and tidy. Cafeteria and toilets, OK. The museum building it self is special in it self, whit the clean rock surface at the sides. All in all I will stretch to 4 stars.

I am very happy each time I come here where my great great grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousin rest in peace. The fact it's where the Poet Peter Daas was a Priest does not matter to me one bit. It's very serene, and beautiful right on the North Artic Sea.

Fantastic place to visit. Its great importance historically and architecturally is magnificently presented and made available. And an extra bonus is the brilliant staff possessing great knowledge.
