👍👍 Totally stunning views from the top of the mountain. The point of 366 meters above sea level is called Keiservarden and is a rather easy and nice hike close to Bodo. We only had a short stop in Bodø and this little museum was well worth the visit. The lady was very welcoming and informative. Its a small but interesting museum about the history and life of the people of Bodø. They currently have a temporary exhibit on mittens which was lovely to see and learn the history behind the patterns and designs of the mittens. It was a dream visit and I would recommend to anyone who is visiting Bodø!

Totally stunning views from the top of the mountain. The point of 366 meters above sea level is called Keiservarden and is a rather easy and nice hike close to Bodo. Travel to Turisthytten and walk from there. The path is 2.3 km of which the fist km is a really easy path, wide and smooth. The last 1.3 km is still an easy walk but know it goes up hill with uneven stone stairs mixed with mountain paths and stony parts. Lots of people run up to the top and most people wear running shoes but I recommend a light walking shoe for the hike and some warm clothes for the top once you reach it. You'll want to stay and it can be quite windy up here. The view will show you Saltstraumen, Kjerringoy, Bodo city and if you go in the summer on a sunny day - an amazing midnight sun.

Interesting museum but could do with a few more English signs. The slideshow presentation at xx00 and xx30mins is very good and explains what you will see in the museum. Make it your first stop

The exhibit upstairs about Bodø's history was good, though I have heard they have tires with guides in period dress. That would have made the visit better. The art exhibit downstairs was minimal and had no explanation.

Very interesting and precise museum telling Bodø’s long story from its founding, to present day. Short and precise, so in some areas i would have loved a bit more information, and the qr guide codes didnt work when i visited which meant i probably missed some information. Tip top service from the staff!

(Translated by Google) It is a small museum but it gathers very well the history of this town. You need to watch your video. To highlight the Viking treasure they show. (Translated by Google) This trip starts in the parking lot at the top of Fjellveien, below the Tourist Lodge. From here you follow the sherpastia up to the empire. This trip is 1.10 kilometers and takes about half an hour with normal speed. Once you have left the parking lot, turn right at the first cross and continue the path inside the water at the crossing. Furthermore, there are stone steps in the steepest climbs (Original) Denne turen starter på parkeringsplassen øverst i Fjellveien, nedenfor Turisthytta.

A very small, cozy museum. The young lady at the reception was 5/5, so friendly and helpful! The exhibition 'Heritage' was really impressive. The Dry Aquarium was a disappointment, only one thing to see. Good way to kill time on a rainy day.

(Translated by Google) If you are a Bodø patriot and at the same time very interested in World War II, this museum will probably suit you better. For the rest of us, it got a little tame. I had hoped that the "aquarium" in the basement would save the visit, but then no. (Original) Er du en bodøpatriot og samtidig veldig opptatt av andre verdenskrig så passer nok dette museet bedre for deg. (Translated by Google) We receive an excellent welcome at the Bodø and Nordland History Museum! By a very available, very attentive, very helpful person. It is a visit not to be missed. The museum has 3 parts: a dry aquarium, ie an exhibition behind a large display case of stuffed fish specimens (or molded I don't know), as if they were swimming in the display case. It is equipped with an interactive device: the eyes of the fish light up when the button corresponding to their name (Norwegian) is pressed. The correspondences with the other denominations are on a nearby poster. It's a little complicated to find them though. On the ground floor, a large room is devoted to temporary exhibitions, in 2019 by contemporary artist Gerhard Mhule, on loan from the Bergen Art Museum if I understood correctly. Beautiful exhibition with a well-designed auto weaving workshop. Upstairs, a film tells the story of the city (in Norwegian with English subtitles). It is very well done, the tone used is very correct, at the same time entertaining, instructive, moving, with a touch of humor. The images testify to a real and serious work of research and collection of archives. The exhibition which bears witness to this history is well documented, includes models, objects and a nice immersive scenography. It lacks a course to follow and suddenly seems a little disjointed. Archeology is represented in a room, which exhibits a silver treasure dating from the early Middle Ages, unearthed in the area, accompanied by the work of a contemporary embroidery artist. A model of Borg's longhouse completes the contextualization. A 16th century Sami Shaman drum. is also presented. As everywhere in Norway, the only problem is that of the opening hours: you have to enter the narrow window of 10 am to 4 pm. Too bad especially in the summer when the day drags on ...
