Concert
Hall
&
Library
are
okay,
but
overall
Bodø
is
rather
ugly.
Almost
as
though
the
mindset
is:
We're
located
in
one
of
the
most
beautiful
places
on
the
planet
&
everyone's
going
to
Lofoten
anyway,
so
what
do
we
need
to
care
about
our
pathways
&
city
architecture...
Addendum,
16.12.2023:
After
the
reply
from
Stormen
Concert
Hall
(cf
last
pic),
I
feel
a
little
embarrassed,
somewhat
sorry
even
for
my
harsh
words.
I
do,
o/c,
recognize
the
monstrous
destructions
the
Germans
brought
over
Norway
in
WWII!
But
in
addition
to
this,
there
seems
to
be
a
certain
general
negligence
in
Norwegian
city
planning/zoning,
which
I
also
found
in
Tromsø,
parts
of
Trondheim,
even
in
places
such
as
Oppdal,
that
can't
be
solely
explained
with
reference
to
the
aftermath
of
WWII.
I've
discussed
this
with
a
lot
of
local
people
during
the
trip,
particularly
in
Tromsø,
many
of
whom
expressed
their
disappointment
with
their
resp.
city's
architecture.
It
seems
the
situation
got
worse
since,
say,
the
1980s
when
city
planers
gave
largely
unrestricted
leeway
to
big
corporate
real
estate
players.
And
those
guys
usually
pay
less
attention
to
the
aesthetics
of
their
buildings
within
a
city's
structure
than
they
do
to
corporate
profit.
To
prevent
the
resulting
architectural
disasters
is
actually
the
task
of
sensible
city
planning.
Either
way,
I
appreciate
the
reply
&
honestly
wish
Bodø
only
the
best,
particularly
for
Bodø2024,
when
the
city
is
the
European
Capital
of
Culture!
I
may
even
be
back
then.
