We had booked 2 very pleasing trips together with Ivar: First we booked the Northern lights safari, which was not successful unfortunately, but Ivar was always very clear and transparent in terms of possibility and circumstances. We still decided to give it a go, as the Aurora can appear out of nowhere and clouds might be breaking up suddenly due to the strong winds. He drove us to several interesting spots and had all of the necessary equipment with him. During the trip he also had a lot to share about the region and the people living there. The second trip, the day after, was the dog sledding which was an absolute blast: We were a very small group (only 3 tourists), which caused a very friendship-like atmosphere between us. He drove us to the dog sledding spot, where we were greeted by Lars, who was also very friendly and told us a lot about the dogs. He led us leash the dogs prior to the sled trip and then we went off into the wilds for a good 30min tour. It was a great experience! Lars even took some pictures and a video and shared it with us. After the trip we stayed there for a while and talked about various different topics around Norway, life in Norway, wildlife, dogs and other topics - we had the feeling that we were visiting some friends, the atmosphere was great! At the way back we even visited Saltstraumen and Ivar told us some facts about it. Absolute must if you're visiting Bodø in the winter! Thank you again Ivar!

We went on a dog sledding tour, and it was amazing. The weather condition wasn’t perfect at all, but our guide Ivar made it a perfect day. All the dogs were friendly, exited and experienced with sledding beginners. There is always time to pet and hug the dogs! We were trained upfront, and assisted our very competent navigator Lars to put on the dogs harness. The difficulty level of the tour was adjusted to our competences, and we were offered to upgrade our cloth with extra rainproofed boots, pants/overolls. The tour itself was easy, nevertheless exhausting for unexperienced sled steerers. Falling off the sled can happen, but the team takes care of your safety. Overall we would do it again! For sure!

Ivar is helpful, always quick to respond to queries and forthcoming in offering information and tips. Loved our husky experience with Lars and his dogs. Very relaxed and knowledgeable. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Nordland Adventures have just opened a new office in the heart of Bodø. Go and visit!

We were lucky to have a private tour with Ivar in Bodø municipality in December 2022. The amount of thought he put into organization and our comfort was off charts. You get the full flexibility in location scouting so we went as far as Jakobsbakken (-20'C!). Ivar also provided warm (and gosh, so delicious) currant tea, warm blankets and of course a good amount of quality chat. It's a truly enjoyable experience suitable for both newbies and advanced hunters. Highly recommended

I joined the dog-sledding trip close to Bodø and it was amazing and a wonderful experience! It was very well organized. I had a rental car and drove by myself to the exact location but it is also possible to get a drive from Bodø to the start point! The dogs are super friendly and well trained. They had so much fun to run through the snow to pull the sled. The landscape is amazing and the trainer/owner told me so much about the dogs and their life in cold areas. Stunning! I can highly recommend making this experience by yourself. You won't regret!

I was traveling alone and due to bad weather conditions I had to extend my stay at Bodø, a place that I now love and already looking forward to come back to. I reached out to Nordland Turselskap to book a Northern Lights Safari. They were very honest about the bad weather conditions and about the possibility of seeing northern lights during my stay, so that I had the choice to book until one hour before the tour. I decided to do it and had a really great time. The nordern lights weren't that strong, but that's what I knew before. We went snowshoeing unter Stars and moonlight and traveld along the Coast. It Was an amazing experience. The same day in the morning I also wanted to go hiking and got explained a very beautiful tour by Ivar. I also got offered free transport to the start/end of the tour which was very kind. All in all I will always love to come back for the beautiful nature and the calm atmosphere at Bodø. And I would absolutly recommend doing a tour with Nordland Turselskap Adventures.

I can highly recommend this northern lights tour. Ivar knows the places where you can spot them. It is an unforgettable experience and you think it is magic. You get a lot of facts about it throughout the tour. Ivar knows the area quite well and can give you a lot of information how to explore the surroundings. And of top of this there was a moose! Thanks a lot for this wonderful experience!

An amazing, professional and well taken care of experience. The guides were very friendly and also gave advice on other activities around Bodo. They were very knowledgeable on the dogs and helped out if there were any issues. Most of the things, such as putting the dogs in front of the sleighs you could do yourself and of course riding it! Definitely a once in a lifetime experience!

Ivar was a truly excellent guide. He knew the best places to go to see the northern lights, and was committed to making it the best experience for us. I couldn't recommend him more. We got to see them from different beautiful spots, and we even saw a moose! Ivar knows the area so well, and shared interesting facts throughout the journey. It was my first time in Bodø and he gave me lots of other useful recommendations. Unforgettable experience - thank you Ivar!!

Do this! Go dogsledding with Ken! This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and Ken is as genuine and authentic as they come. This isn’t just fun and beautiful. With Ken you will learn about the sport, care for the dogs, and drive the sled! You’ll get some “fur-therapy” too. The dogs are so friendly and their enthusiasm is contagious. If you are hesitating, don’t. This is the best!

We were in Bodø searching for the best place and time to see the Northern Lights. Ivar was so helpful and responsive to my emails. We moved on from Bodø before going on a trip there but saw them in the Lofoten Islands . Northern Norway is an incredible place to visit in winter. Chilly yes, but not damp like the UK. This was a perfect holiday .

Ivar was super helpful in helping us catch the Northern Lights! We spent 3 nights at Bodø and just when we were losing hope of experiencing them, his guidance and tips made us have a magical trip.

Ivar was awesome. The dog tour was worth every penny. The tour has a lot more than the website says. We went to an overlook of Bodo, Ivar showed us a few hikes that we could do while in town. Then he took us to a local bakery, then Saltstraumen, then local fishing spots. We then drove into the Fjord towards the mountains. That was a stunning drive into the mountains. We then met Lisa and her husband in their lovely house where we first met the dogs. They were great. The dogs are extremely well taken care of. They're all very healthy, happy and ready to go. They got us to the starting point of the dog tour, which was not 5 minutes away from their house. Half the group started the tour, while Ivar and I walked to a nearby river and made a fire. They also had a tent with a potbelly oven in it, which was incredibly cozy and warm. I joined the second round, which was around 5.5 mi (~9 km) in a little less than an hour. The run was amazing. The landscape was incredible. After the dog run we hangout in the tent with homemade Norwegian cake, baked by Lisa herself. On the way back in town we saw some moose, which was great. Anyway, the whole day was incredible and I had a ton of fun. Thanks Ivar! Hope to be back and check some of the other adventures out.

We did a hike of Haraøyskaftet with Jørgen and even though the weather wasn’t ideal we had a great time. The trip was easy to setup and they communicated with us quickly and well. With the wet conditions and this climb being our first outdoor climb with a rappel Jørgen made it fun and feel safe. The Haraøyskaftet trip was easily approachable for us as first timers and if your hesitant I would say go for it. It’ll be a trip you’ll remember.

While sailing on the Viking Star in Norway January 2020, 20 Viking guests booked this boat trip to visit Salstrumen because the Viking-offered excursions to Salstrumen were sold out. We each paid 1750 NOK or $190 US dollars per person (roughly $400/couple). Due to sea conditions the Viking Star captain had to skip the Bodo port and stay at Sea. (This followed the Hurtigruten event that occurred 1 week prior while trying to dock in Bodo; google the horrific video Jan.21, 2020), as well as the high sea disaster on Viking Sea in March 2019 (you can also good that) enroute to Bodo. Due to the missed port January 30, 2020, all 20 guests lost the full $200 excursion and this tour company kept the entire $4000. I understand they need to pay the staff who planned on guiding our boats but they could have reimbursed 50% since they did not waste boat fuel or mileage on the boat. Additionally, I’m sure they were able to rebook some regular tourists on land to fill or now vacant spaces. It was not a decision to “skip” the excursion, it was a safety decision made by the captain for his 907 souls onboard the Viking Star. I’m sure this tour company does great tours but I would just keep weather in mind before booking this as a cruise guest. There is always a risk of a port cancellation based on unforeseen weather conditions. At least Viking cruise will reimburse the guests who booked directly from them and missed the excursion. It’s a lesson learned for us and we will continue to communicate this message for future guests to consider.

Ivar organised a wonderful snowshoeing trip for us. He answered very fast and assisted us, while the cruise ship arrived one day early as we planned. It was no problem for him to change the trip. For us it was a great experience! We're very thankful!

(Translated by Google) Guided tour to Stetind Arranged the trip at short notice - quickly clarified with space and information. Johan was good at guiding a nice pace on the way up. Good information in advance of climbing and not least got us safely up and down. (Original) Guidet tur til Stetind Arrangert turen på kort varsel - kjapt avklart med plass og informasjon. (Translated by Google) Thank you so much for a fantastic trip on Hamarøyskaftet in beautiful autumn weather. Short climbing stages, nice breaks in the mountains and beautiful views from the top. Had been looking forward to the downturn, and the rappelling down met expectations. Would have liked to have had twice as long firewood down again 😊. The trip is recommended (Original) Tusen takk for en fantastisk tur på Hamarøyskaftet i nydelig høstvær. Turen anbefales

(Translated by Google) Highly recommend the cave trip to Aspfjordgrotta. We were a group of five who had the pleasure of experiencing the marble cave together with guide Ivar. None of us had been on a cave hike before, but the trip gave more taste and several of us now want to go on more trips in the future. Ivar made sure that everyone felt safe while we rappelled, crawled and walked through Aspfjordgrotta. For many hours we experienced a new world, surrounded by marble in both open and narrower corridors. Ivar's professionalism, knowledge and customer service were invaluable. A powerful experience. Dice roll 6! Terningkast 6!

We had an AMAZING experience. Ivar picked myself and 4 other students up from our dorms. He drove us to dogsledding while giving great insight to the scenery around us. We were able to see reindeer, an eagle, and a mother and baby moose. Dogsledding with Lars was unbelievable. The dogs were so kind and the overall experience was a blast. On the way back we snowshoed with Lars and made a stop at Saltstraumen as well. We had a fantastic time. Both men were extremely accommodating, knowledge, organized, and so much fun to be around. I could not recommend this more. Anyone in the Bodø area should definitely check it out!!!! Worth every penny!
