Traditional Market which is very famous in Jogjakarta. Perhaps also as the largest traditional market in Jogjakarta. Looking for anything in here must be there, very complete. There is an ATM machine in upstairs. Parking lots are everywhere and spacious. This market is always crowded everyday. The goods offered are cheap and expensive too. We have to be smart to offer it.

I am writing my disappoinment toward the irresponsible use of public space. I am aware that smoking is someone's right (your body that will get hurt) but smoking in a space designed for LACTATION ROOM??? It's irresponsible, insensible and they must out of their mind. There were 3 men: two of them smoking and one of them was a man in security officer's uniform. They might not directly contact the room used for lactation.. but they would leave cigarettes residue in the area. It was raining, I guess they tried to cope up with the rather cold weather? Oh they won't get hypothermia for being responsible and put other's good. Instead, they may harm other's health because of their cigarettes residue.

There are 2 sides to Pasar Beringharjo, the front side entrance from Jl Malioboro-are stalls for Batik and handicrafts. While the backside is the traditional wet market inside the building, as well as on the streets. You can buy fresh fruits and vegetables at reasonable price from the street vendors.

I can’t believe that now Pasar Bringharjo has an air-conditioned floor, on third floor. Actually it just a small area, and unfortunately no connection to another building, but it was an improvement. Make me and some other visitors perhaps feel so enjoy for shopping. What a big hope it can be applied to all the Pasar Beringharjo area. Hehe aamiin.

The pasar is nice, clean and there are plenty of batik clothing but, it is so tight with displayed all over the alley so people is not freely move around especially during peak season.

A legendary traditional market in Yogyakarta which can survive among the onslaught of modern malls. You can buy various needs here. Handicrafts, batik clothes, modern clothes, herbs, kitchen spices, traditional foods, fresh vegetables, and many more. This market is open until evening, especially for batik sellers.

There is this local herb (locals call it: JAMU) shop, the owner and shop attendant are friendly and helpful. If you like “wedang uwuh” or other local herbal drinks, ask them to get the herbs for you and help you write down the recipe so you can make it at home. There is also a handicraft store selling at a fair price and the stuff they are selling are slightly different than others. We also get some rock sugar and Javanese tea leaves on 2nd floor. White sugar being the premium ones compared to yellow, but they are both good for making sweet tea, herbal drinks and cooking in general. Happy shopping!!
