Not
everyone
has
gone
"down
the
shore"
on
this
beautiful
Saturday.
Quite
a
few
individuals,
including
ourselves,
visited
the
Elmwood
Park
Multi-Cultural
Festival
Street
Fair
on
Market
Street
to
check
out
vendor
markets,
interactive
activities,
art
demonstrations,
games,
and
food
trucks
at
an
all-in-one-day
event.
Just
in
time
for
lunch,
one
of
us
ended
up
getting
a
waffle
cone
with
chocolate
ice
cream
and
chocolate
syrup.
From
one
of
the
food
trucks,
Carinderia
on
Wheels
ordered
the
veggie
pancit
and
veggie
spring
roll
(lumpia).
Carinderias
(Tagalog:
karinderya)
are
small
Filipino
🇵🇭
eating
establishments,
typically
in
a
market
or
by
the
roadside.
Pancit
is
a
classic
Filipino
recipe
consisting
of
an
easy
stir-fried
rice
noodle
served
with
snow
peas,
cabbage,
and
carrots.
It
was
tasty
and
not
greasy
or
messy.
The
spring
roll
has
a
crepe-like
wrapping
and
comes
with
carrots,
green
beans
(string
beans),
bean
sprouts,
and
cabbage.
The
accompanying
dipping
sauce
is
made
from
vinegar
with
some
chopped
chili,
garlic,
and
soy
sauce.
It
had
a
kick
and
complimented
the
roll.
Just
a
day
well
spent!
