I rarely write reviews, but this time I felt truly compelled to do so. This cafe is a gem that truly understands the essence of hospitality. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by an air of calm professionalism and a team of staff that defines what excellent service should be. The service is impeccable – attentive without being intrusive. The staff are super polite, calm, and collected, ensuring that every interaction feels warm and genuine creating an atmosphere that invites you to return. It’s clear this cafe has mastered the key to success in this industry: prioritizing the customer experience. From the service to the ambiance, every detail is thoughtfully curated to make you feel valued. Hats off to the manager / owner.

My favorite cafe in Addis by far. Wide variety coffee menu, with good pastries. Interior design is really nice in a ideal location. A chill place to hang out with soothing music.

I only got the chance to try their dessert and coffee and For dessert it's 10/10. No words. Their affogato is like heaven. It's like combined perfectly. Extraordinary. I loved it. Just try it without hesitation.

I don’t usually give 5 stars… but this cafe is deserving 🙌🏾 the drinks are overpriced, but the food and cakes are definitely not. I’ve had all kinds of pastries here.. their chocolate cake, and tiramisu are amazing. Millefeuille and cheese cake are ok.

For a place charging premium prices, I expected bold flavors and creative dishes. Instead, what I got was pretty average—nothing stood out. The taste was mid-range at best, certainly not worth the price tag. Portions were also on the smaller side, which added to the feeling of being overcharged. If you decide to check it out, go in with realistic expectations. It’s not bad, but definitely not worth the splurge. Plenty of other spots offer better value for money.

Illy's desserts are some of the best in town, and the interior design is impeccable. My favorite order so far is the Illy Duetto, with its creamy layer & chocolate sprinkles on top. The people are fast & accommodating as well. But the items are on the pricier side, so come prepared.

Illy Cafe is located on the ground floor of Snap Mall on Bole road. Accessible by all transport means except the Bole metro. The service was lovely. The food was excellent (we ordered a veggie sandwich with ginger tea) One minus was the closing time (8 PM local time), which I think is too early for a coffee shop. Otherwise, it is a great venue to meet up in Addis Ababa.
