I have visited here multiple times and even though this location is well stocked and aesthetically pleasing the vibes are frenetic and low tone energy. Today I literally just finished a 90 minute walk with my dog so I ordered a hot chocolate, provided my first name bought a baguette for my dog and I to share and literally 5 minutes later found out the staff let another customer take my drink with my name and receipt on it! They leave drinks completely unattended with a receipt and other customers just grab whatever is left on the counter. Twice within twenty minutes I attempted to use their bathrooms but it seems two separate bathrooms here aren't enough because it's always extremely crowded here on weekends. Whoever planned the layout of this particular store obviously didn't anticipate how crowded this store would actually be because there's very little wiggle room squeezing oneself in between rows of food and snacks and the people who come here to shop or drink coffee. I'd also like to mention there is communal seating at the front of this grocery store and people are here on their laptops πŸ’» seated extremely close together (without masks) even though Chicago is currently enforcing a mask mandate for anyone shopping indoors. Technically speaking this is a grocery store not really a restaurant but people come here for smoothies, pastries and coffee then sit inside in close proximity with eachother and no one seated is wearing a mask. There are freezers full of gourmet grocery items you can reheat in your home, salads, vegetables, Jenni's ice cream and plenty of high priced snacks from gummy bears to cookies here so it's more like a tiny grocery store and everything available has a kind of hipster vibe to it that would appeal to a younger, trendier crowd. The staff members here are very young and kind of understaffed. No one here working behind the counter seemed concerned that another customer grabbed my order πŸ™„ that I had paid for. They weren't apologetic in the least when I asked why my drink had been taken by a new customer when I'd been patiently waiting outside in the cold. I'm sorry this just isn't the vibe I'm seeking πŸ˜” I'm not sure if it's the aggressiveness from their customers or the fact that these kids lack professionalism; but this is definitely my least favorite foxtrot location here in Chicago.

Every time I come here, I have a problem. My matcha drinks are always bitter. I get the fruit loop matcha every time, and it just tastes so bitter with no lavender syrup that is the whole point of the drink… 1 time, I got a smoothie, and it had multiple shards of plastic from, I don't know. They never refunded me for the drink, And nobody ever contacted me about the situation. Furthermore, I came today for my favorite beverage. I told them to make sure it was lavender in my drink because I was not too fond of the bitter taste of the matcha. I tasted the glass, and it still tasted bitter. I went back and asked for a side of syrup to add. I don't know if she is the manager or the supervisor, but she whispered to the guy that made my drink about something and laughed. I had multiple incidents at this location; the wells location is my favorite, and I will continue to go there instead of the one on maple! When they opened, they had a fantastic team. I don't know what's wrong now

Not about the work of this location but COMPANY WIDE feedback: I LOVED Foxtrot Market when it first entered the Chicago Market...the concept of a digitally-driven corner store is simply genius. Like several of their kind, Foxtrot ("FT") entered the highly-saturated cafe/specialty grocery market with a competitive rewards system, fair prices and good service. I've watched as the company: - Cheapened the rewards system (!) - Raised prices to astronomical levels (beyond inflation indicators in their sector) - Cut corners (FT bathrooms are always horrible at Streeterville, Hubbard and Gold Coast) (food prep areas look nasty and hardly refreshed)(Seen several out-of-date items on shelves) There seems to be a lacking attention-to-detail and apparent lack of customer service training company-wide. Also of note: FT will raise prices without updating signage. I've seen higher prices at the POS v. price signs, which is frustrating and misleading to consumers. Perhaps update signage and POS pricing at standardized times to avoid this. I'm really rooting for Foxtrot's turnaround! I LOVE a Chicago success story.

Understaffed. I don't blame the workers for the service but more the people who schedule or lack of schedule workers. Can't shop here because there's like one worker for the whole store. The employees are as nice as they can be but I feel so bad because they look stressed. Long lines and old overpriced food. Not really worth it.

I stopped in yesterday afternoon. Although I only ordered a Caesar salad, it took 15 minutes. The store was not busy. This is the second time I’ve been in here recently where the food prep took so long I had to ask where it was. Then, they forgot a major ingredient. I was sitting outside and was so disgusted I didn’t complain. Poor service is very tiring. That said, they have the best latte around, which is why I stop by. I won’t order food that needs to be prepared, but will stick with already made items.

Come here often to study, many other people also use it for the same. It's a great place but the music is played a little too loud. The coffee is good, there's a small grocery selection of quality food. You can also get alcohol here.

Super cool vibe. Close to a lot of prime locations. Their caramel latte is good. The worker who took our order is so helpful with choosing items on the menu. Wish they did a better job of keeping the restrooms clean.

Great draft beer and wine prices. Like coming here and sitting outside. Way cheaper than going to a bar. Super convenient living next door. Good grocery and alcohol selections. Never really order food here except a pastry but those are solid. Everyone seems nice.

I love this place. Awesome assortment of products. Love the Full Recovery smoothie. The staff, I suppose could be friendlier and not feel like they are from NYC.

This is a review over multiple visits at this store. Since I have not gone to other locations, I can't speak for those, but the maple street location seems to have unlawful practices. The major one being they do not have a handicap accessible door. Also, they do not accept cash, even though you can only tip their employees in cash, (doesn't make sense). Side note this place has a medium risk evaluation by the health dept. Anytime I have come in the morning, they look severely understaffed. I've seen only one person back there running to meet the demands of the customers, have a feeling they probably aren't being compensated. Overpriced for a mediocre experience. 7/11 is around the corner and cheaper than this place.
