We went there as a team outing. We chose The Escape artist: the seance. It is decently difficult to solve and we took about 4 clues. Expected it to be a multi stage puzzle but it’s jus 2 rooms. The staff was really nice and courteous. Ryan and Jacob were awesome hosts. Definitely recommend doing to this.

We had encore tickets for Dec 4 and did the Houdini Escape Artist: Last Seance room. The staff were friendly and informative, even when they were in character giving hints. The escape room was challenging but engaging. We had 5 in our group, so teamwork was necessary. I was amazed with the artistic talent and thought that went into their staging. The room had an 18% escape rate, and we were able to complete it with 10 minutes left, and only had to ask for one clue! I highly recommend this place and escape room experience. I hope to go back again!

One of the hardest rooms we've done but sooooo much fun!! Some of the rooms could use some maintenance and tags of what not to touch (some items were broken).

We had a great time at the Great Escape Room! The first time we went was last year, when we did the infirmary escape room and had to solve clues to unlock doors and reach a patient, and save his life by performing a heart procedure! At the end of that session we were offered “encore tickets” at a reduced price. We were unable to use those encore tickets until we returned to Chicago yesterday, December 29th, 2023, and they honored our tickets. We paid reduced ticket prices for the Escape The Coliseum room, which is two hours in length. It was so much fun, the rooms were interactive, the clues were well thought out, and we had a great time. Our group of 10 will definitely be coming back for some more Escape Room Fun!

Great fun, especially since we did it! Thanks Chris and Suzie were great hosts and helped our large group really enjoy the time we spent there. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Very cool place! Staff was very fun and nice. The rooms were really cool!! We did 3 of the rooms with a group of 4, and were able to beat them all!

So much fun! Went twice already :) great folks here! Clues are only there when asked for. We did the hard Houdini one that only had 18% chance of escape with 2 people. Very hard. We were 65% through. Hard to do with 2 - that one can probably be only done with 1.5-2 hrs if you’re playing with 2-3 people. I absolutely love that the rooms are private and you don’t go with other people — it makes it much more interesting to play only with people you came with. On weekdays they are pretty empty so best to go during that time!

Really fun experience. We went with 4 people & weren’t sure about the rooms because it was our first time. We had such a good time, we bought tickets to come back! The puzzles weren’t unreasonable and super difficult. They all made perfect sense and connected well to each other. We thought it was the perfect! We also went as a birthday celebration. Is actually say 4 people is the perfect number.

We had a family group of 12. Ages 5-80. And everyone had a blast. We did one of the more scavenger hunt type rooms and it was great. The kids and adults all loved it.

My family really enjoyed doing the President's bunker escape room at the The Great Escape Room Chicago! We can't wait to try another room! You know how sometimes when you fail and you look back and think to yourself: "there was no possible way we would have gotten that, that was way too hard". Well that wasn't the case here. Each step was solvable yet challenging and it definitely required us to work together to find our way out!

Very accommodating after a group member had her wallet stolen right before our time. Fun room, but the guy giving us clues didn't seem to be following our progress very well so that was a little frustrating. Overall fun experience!

My wife and I have been hooked on escape rooms in the past year. We wanted to try the 2 hour long "escape the colosseum room" because it was different than all the other rooms we have done. The concept was great, however, some tech difficulties kept us from finishing the room. The game master on duty that night was amazing. He was apologetic and offered us a refund as well as a free room to use in order to give them another chance. A few days later we decided to go back and try Poker Night at the presidents bunker. Our game master that night (Tanner) was amazing. He was very enthusiastic about the games and got into character. In my opinion this always makes the rooms so much more FUN! We liked it so much so that we ended up finishing the rest of the rooms with the company! So although the journey started off a bit rocky. I have to say the customer service throughout was stellar. All the staff members I have had the pleasure of communicating with though email/phone/ and in person were amazing!

We just solved the final Seance with a little help from Tanner! It was just spooky enough, fun, and challenging! Great way to help celebrate a friend's birthday!

The Great Escape Room really lives up to their name. We did Poker Night at the President's Bunker and had a great time. The puzzles are just the right level of difficulty and the staff is great! Such a rush to solve. Adam was a great guide, kudos to him.

The room was set up so well, not too difficult but definitely not easy either. Everything was very clean and well-put-together. Staff was super helpful and kind. They really made you feel like you belonged there. My friends and I have almost completed every room there, and we cannot wait until the final one is built. Thank you so much for this awesome experience :)

Had such a fun time here! We did the Mountain Top Murders with just 2 of us and it was the perfect amount of challenging. The employees were super friendly and when we ended up needed a hint they led us in the right direction without giving anything away. We were able to complete the room with only 2 hints and 6 minutes to spare. It’s a newer room so hadn’t seen much feedback on it or the success rate.

We had a hoot and a half! My friends and I split up into two teams of four and did the Poker Night and Mountaintop Murders (my room) experiences. Both teams had a great time -- about half of us were escape room veterans and the others were relatively new or first-timers, but everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. The puzzles were great, the staff was very helpful with our large group, the location was easily accessible on foot, and the experience was overall very satisfying. I highly recommend it and plan to go back and try the other rooms!

Went and did Escape The Colossuem, was a super cool escape room! August was a wonderful game master when we needed a couple clues. Naomi was super fun and wonderful with getting us checked in and set up for our room! Not from Chicago, so they made it worth coming out for!
