Was a much needed visit to the wall. Could say my last goodbye to my classmate Darren Linde. Rest in peace my friend.

Went on a motorcycle ride with some buddies from work, in reflection of Memorial Day approaching, we took this opportunity to visit some names of a few Soldiers my friends knew, and to reflect on the sacrifice of so many brave men and women. Next to the Illinois river, and near some nice parks, this location has the potential for a whole day trip. The museum was somber as well, allowing some insight on memorabilia and keepsakes that family and friends provided in remembrance of their loved ones. Gone, but never forgotten.

A place not to be missed. Very meaningful, beautiful, and emotional. There is also a piece from the Pentagon from 9/11. Many ceremonies are held here throughout the year, including Freedom Run and Walk to the Wall.

Finally got to visit the memorial. Online pics and videos don't do it justice. Beautiful, serene place to reflect and remember those who put their lives on the line for our country and it's people. β€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

The silence at the memorial is sobering - only the rushing of the river over the rocks. It's a few miles off the freeway on the other side of the small town, so don't give up when there's a break between signs. There's what appears to be fountains facing the river at the edge. I imagine it's beautiful in the summertime.

A great location for a memorial. With the sound of the Illinois River flowing in the background it made my visit looking for my brothers name more peaceful

Peaceful and quiet, as it should be. There was several other people there looking for names of their loved ones or friends. There are thousands of names etched into the walls.
