Good bar food and a friendly staff. Very cozy place to relax.

I really enjoyed having lunch at Black Oak Tavern in Oak Lawn. I ordered two appetizers, Chicken tender, juicy, plumb and delicious. The honey mustard dipping sauce is house made and was delicious!! Great blend of sweet and savory. And a Bavarian pretzel, buttery tender and the Gouda cheese sauce for dipping was awesome! Loved my choices. They do have burgers, sandwiches, and other dishes to choose from. The Tavern is clean, spacious and the server was friendly and helpful. The prices are a tad high but is worth it for a treat. I gave it 4 stars, due to the parking being limited. The restaurant is on a small shopping mall. Despite the parking, it's worth a visit. Check out their website for the full menu.

Had a cheeseburger 😋 w/homemade chips. It was fantastic! I haven't had a great burger like this in a long while. A must try.

This is my second time coming here. First time was ok. Drinks are good but food was fair. This time I ordered hot wings and they brung me a plate of chicken with hair (check out photos) also the shrimp pasta had NO TASTE at all. When they remade my wings someone else brung them out and said “Wings with No Hair” as if it were funny. It was disgusting. The waiter pretty much ignore all of our request after that, while the place wasn’t busy when we sat down. Over all one star. The customer service wasn’t up to part and the food wasn’t that great. The one star is only for the great drinks. The older lady that works at night made our drinks so good. That’s what made me come back but after this visit I won’t be returning!!

The food here is awesome. The bartenders and servers were all very nice and made sure everything was fine. It's also, a great place to watch sports as they have a bunch of TVs. A great place to go with friends.

Prices have definitely gone up, And I also noticed the Happy hour selection is no longer on the menu. For example, On Fridays they have B1G1 half off appetizers. Usually we order wings and fries (then add the rest you have) .. My only comment ,concern is that you no longer offer free refills on soft drinks and it isn't listed anywhere till we received our bill. Food is great, but it'll be awhile until we go back due to the pricing.

This is a nice looking place with lots of room in back for seating, and enough televisions to watch all your favorite teams. The food was just okay. I ordered a burger medium and it was served well done and on the dry side. The bartender was mediocre. Pretty much ignored until I ordered my drink three times from the bar back.

Met some people for lunch here. My first time here are waitress Suzy Q was excellent. The chili was good and spicy. Very clean and comfortable environment definitely will be back

10/10 for our pickup dinner order made via toast. It was super easy to place my order & my notes were followed for how I wanted my burger made. Excellent portions & prices. The staff looked like they were working hard and enjoying the atmosphere. Definitely our new go to for ordering out nights!

The food is fantastic. I've been here for lunch and dinner plus with kids. Each time the food has been awesome. The drinks are good as well. A must visit if you're in the Oak Lawn area.

This is a great local pub. Clean and welcoming. Little tight in some areas, but still accommodating for my group of 8 folks with no issues. Price seemed normal to the area for beers.

Let me start by saying this, I have been coming to black oak for over 6 years and I believe they have the best wings I have ever had. I wasn’t going to leave a review because I’m a bar/restaurant owner so I know how reviews can affect your business so I decided to send an email to the address on the website and nobody responded. I have them a week to respond or I was leaving a review. I was in there two Sunday’s ago and the service was absolutely horrific. We were there for two hours and managed to get 3 rounds of drinks and an order of wings. We wanted to order dinner but the bartender never came to take our order even though we asked her to. We also had to ask the busboy to find her so we could order drinks twice. She had time to take a shot with other customers but not take our order. Our party 5 went down the street and spent our $150 somewhere else. When leaving the bartended apologized for the horrible service, we never complained about service while there. So she openly admitted she knew the service was horrible when she could have just attempted to do a better job. It was busy but not out of control busy. She decided to take off a round of drinks off our tab without us asking her to, a nice gesture by her but that nice gesture just cost the business owner around $200 (the round of drinks and us eating somewhere else that would take our order) as a bar/restaurant owner that bothered me. If the service doesn’t get better I won’t be back.

I was disappointed this time. Prices are high, the Mac and cheese with chicken had no flavor. No cheese was in the bag for the pretzel which was $10. We have always loved everything before this. You need our credit card number for a pick up order but the care of the order not so much

Comfy place. Brought my wife and son there. A friend told me the food was good. Server was very friendly. Food and drinks were fantastic. I got the teriyaki chicken and it was great. Highly recommend it.

Small place. Clean Bar and very friendly staff. The Buffalo wings were great! Fresh cut fries were very good as well. I would definitely recommend.

After Living in Oak Lawn for almost Five years I finally decided to stop by for the first time. The service was great our Bartender Dayna (sorry if I'm spelling it wrong) was quick to attend to us. She always made sure we were happy with our drink and never had an empty cup, while still cognitive of course. The burger and fries we had were exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared. Definitely going to make this a regular thing now while in the area.

Great atmosphere. Great food, she was an excellent server. I had the Buffalo wings and farmhouse burger. Both were cooked fresh and served hot.

Buffalo shrimp was great - me and my friends had a good time !! All white family owned establishment but We were treated like everyone else and the food was FANTASTIC , sometimes it can be awkward going somewhere where no one looks like you but it matters that we weren’t mad to feel different.

Celebrating My Niece birthday I ordered the Hangover and My Brother and Niece ordered the Steak philly.

The beer is ice cold, they have several tv's to enjoy sports. The food was good the fish tacos could have had more seasoning. I had the chicken pita it was outstanding. If you're in Oaklawn stop by and you will not be disappointed.

We love everything about this place! The food is excellent and Susan is fabulous. She pays attention to detail and is always happy. We are thrilled when she takes care of us!

Brisket hash skillet! OMG! Amazing!

The food was very good and the atmosphere was GREAT. The service however was horrible. I ordered a slice of pie and the people next to me ordered fried apps. Their food was out in just a few minutes while my food over 20 minutes to come out. Then I had to hunt down the server after I gave her my money to pay the tab to get my change!

Had some great food and the beer was nice and Cold,it reminded me of a good old fashioned neighbor hood tavern

Buffalo Wings are good service sucks. She didn’t come back except to give me the bill and I had to flag her down. She greeted me and took my order then came back with drink five min later I asked for an job application I sat there for 20 min waiting for food and she brings it with the food with no pen. I left it and ate and left. Good food service sucks

Used to be a decent place. Always got the fish tacos which are great. Last time I went they replaced the fish portion with a tiny little fish stick totally ruining the tacos with barely any meat in it. Also my fiance got a drink called new fashioned which does not have whiskey in it but when we got it, it definitely had jack Daniel's in it....was not happy

Reasonable prices for tasty food and ok service. The roughest part is the seating. They have bulky high top seats with shaky tables. The heat was too low for comfort in Oak Lawn winter. Go ahead get a good meal for a good inflation era price.

Suzy-Q is amazing! Super friendly, fun, attentive and compassionate. We came after a funeral and she was the perfect person to have serve us. Food was really good and came quickly. Drinks were tasty. Thank you!

Weak Cobb salad. The citrus vinaigrette is tasteless and watery. All the lettuce is yellow/white. Skimpy on the goodies. Avocado very soft and over ripe. I've had way better, heartier salads and spent less. I ordered it to go and it was packaged upside down in the styrofoam box, so when I poured what little dressing I received, it spilled all over through the lid vents. Not at all worth $14. What a disappointment.

Don't order drinks from this place. I ordered a martini and it was basically all juice. So disappointed. The food is good but unless you are ordering a beer stay clear of the alcoholic beverages!

I had a server named brian and he was amazing. At such a young age, he was attentive, kind, alert, and always checked in on how our meal was. His service was so quick and the way he made my family feel at home really goes to show how he’s being raised to be a responsible and respectful young man. I really appreciate what he is doing for the restaurant and i will be coming back!

Great food love the affirmations in the bathroom and gaming area was perfect for familys with kids to take turns. Oh and they have cbd cocktails

I threw my first surprise party for my husband as he finished the Chicago fire academy at the black oak. Maggie was the manager that helped me set everything up and she was so helpful and kind! Erin was our host for the day. She was fabulous! They let us set up early, catered to all our requests for food and alcohol. It was a wonderful experience. The food is amazing too! Highly recommend and we will be back!

Now my favorite place. Great food. Great drinks, try the cold brew Irish Coffee. Friendly staff. Today, 4/25, I went to Black Oak for the 4th time! The Fish and Chips are to die for, enough for a snack later.

The food is good. I am not a fan of the Cole slaw it was super dry. The asparagus was so good and the grilled fish sandwich top notch!

Good food but DONT GET THE BURGER SLIDERS. THE PATTY IS SOMETHING TO LAUGH AT!!!! SO DAMN SMALL. THE BUN IS BIGGER THAN THE BURGER!! I ASKED FOR MEDIUM ON HOW IT'S COOKED. I GOT WELL DONE!! BERGER STATION ON SOUTHWEST HIGHWAY IN CHICAGO RIDGE IS THE BEST AND I MEAN BEST PLACE FOR THE MINI BURGER SLIDERS. MORE MEAT AND BETTER TASTING!!!! TRUST ME ON THAT ONE. I WILL GO BACK, BUT NEVER EVER AGAIN ORDER THE BURGER SLIDERS. I WILL GET THE BBQ CHICKEN SLIDERS. ILL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED ON THAT ONE. BUT THE BLACK OAK HAS A DISH THAT IS FRIES AND GRAVY WITH CHEESE CURDS ON TOP. VERY GOOD BUT FOR THE PRICE..... SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE FRIES AND GRAVY. OTHER THAN THAT, NICE ATMOSPHERE. THE HELP ON THE OTHER HAND....... NOT GOOD. THEY SEEM TO NOT REALLY CARE IF YOU NEED ANYTHING ELSE. AND FORGETFUL AT THAT.

I love neighborhood spots and always give them the benefit of the doubt. Black oak is definitely good . The vibe was lively without being too loud.There is a pretty extensive pub menu, the usuals in terms of burgers and sandwiches, with a few house specialties that were pretty good. I had the fried Cod fish sandwich and it was definitely tender and flaky, tasty and just a little bit of grease. The french fries were definitely above average, I tried some asparagus that was okay. The ranch and tartar sauce were definitely above average. I felt like the beer menu could use a serious upgrade, a few good choices but not enough to want to stop in for a beer. it was pretty busy that night so the service was a little slow but very very friendly.
