If you want to waste €80, go here!!! We booked a table three days in advance, excited to try this place we had read good things about. The day of, we had to drop friends off at Bergamo airport, so we drove to Lierna from there and were running a few minutes behind so we messaged Antonella to let her know we were running late. Upon getting to Lierna, we drove to every single parking lot in the town and they were unfortunately all full due to it being a Sunday, so we called to see if our food could be put in takeout containers and we’d take it elsewhere with us. Antonella told us this was a big problem (because moving food from a plate to a takeaway container is difficult apparently), but I sent my partner down to pick up the food nonetheless. Once he got to Antonella’s house/restaurant, she proceeded to curse him out in Italian and demanded an extra €10 each for her troubles of boxing it up. There were four other people in the house, so it’s not like this was interrupting a lunch service of 25. She tried to charge us €100 total for our food, but we had only brought €80 (because online it states food is €30-€40 per person) so my partner gave her all we had and she proceeded to give us only half of the dishes. 2 mains each instead of 4. I didn’t realise a small bowl of sad noodles and defrosted vegetables with some farinata were going to be €40 per person. We’re both vegan (13+ years) and this is one of the worst places we’ve been to ever. If we had known not being able to find parking would cause this kind of problem, we would’ve never come at all.

Last night my boyfriend and I for the first time visited Anto's Homerestaurant "La Stella vegano" Both of us are vegan, so this was a must for us to do. We have not regretted it and will be back shortly. The place alone has thrilled us. We were practically sitting in Antos livingroom watching her cook for us!! I have never experienced anything like this before and it was simply amazing! Anto is a beautiful Person inside out and so easy to talk to. Quickly the first course was brought to us and it was soo good..her food is fixed freshly and on point! Believe me she is truely an excellent Cook! The pasta..the Omelette..the dessert.. we were in heaven..! All of you wonderful Italian people out there .. I am jealous of you for having this great Restaurant with amazing Anto nearby. I Would love to have her in Germany ❤️

Bei Stella gibt es ein grandioses veganes 4 gänge Menü. Eine Vorbestellung per Telefon ist empfehlenswert, da nur für die reservierten Gäste gekocht wird. Sie steht alleine in der Küche und kocht für ihre Gäste. Dabei ist sie so herzlich und freundlich. Das Essen ist fantastisch und für jeden, der gerne vegan isst oder es mal ausprobieren möchte nur zu empfehlen! Die lokation ist direkt am Comersee, den Hügel hoch sind auch ein paar Parkplätze verfügbar. Das "Restaurant" ist ein Raum inkl. Küche, in denen das Essen speziell für uns zubereitet wurde. Es war ein einzigartiges und leckeres Erlebnis.

Delicious vegan food in a beautiful location! Anto was super friendly, and we had great chats throughout the meal. It was a special experience having such a talented chef cook just for you in her own home. After learning about our bikes breaking down on the way to her restaurant, she even called a friend to help us out! Really went above and beyond. Thanks so much Anto!

Wir haben heute ein köstliches veganes 4 Gänge Menü gegessen. Die Speisen sind liebevoll, komplett frisch und sehr lecker aufeinander abgestimmt zubereitet. Es ist eine sehr heimelige Atmosphäre, man kann quasi direkt beim Kochen zuschauen und fühlt sich wie zu Gast bei Freunden. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr freundlich, sympathisch und hat tolle Tipps zur veganen Ernährung und auch zur Umgebung parat. Wir sind sehr froh, dass wir diesen charmanten Ort gefunden haben und empfehlen es wärmstens weiter dort essen zu gehen.

Endlich mal etwas anderes als Pizza Marinara oder Nudeln mit Tomaten Soße. Das Essen war super lecker und es war ein besonderes Erlebnis! Stella bietet ein ganz eigenes vielseitiges Veganes Konzept an! Sie hat ein Kochbuch geschrieben, eine eigene Soße entwickelt, gibt Kochkurse, bietet Frühstück und Abendessen an oder Take away und Catering. Direkt am Strand von Lierna ist der liebevoll gestaltete Eingang. Man hat die Optionen sich an den Strand zu legen und sie bringt einem das Take Away essen oder man bestellt sich min 2 Std. im voraus einen Tisch bei ihr. Sie bietet zwei Tische in ihrem eigenen Wohnraum an und bereitet jedes Gericht frisch zu. Es ist total süß bei ihr, da es kein übliches Standard Restaurant ist. Man kann sich toll mit ihr unterhalten, da sie eine sehr interessante und liebe Frau ist. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend und freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

Read the menu/description carefully :) We only did eat some things for takeaway, but it was delicious! The holder was super nice! The prices are more at the top end.

Fantastico!! Hands down, this was easily the best vegan food we've had in Italy. Everything we had was delicious and perfect portions. Antonella is not only a fantastic cook but also warm and welcoming host. If you are a vegan and visiting Italy, make sure you visit, you won't regret it. 5 stars, we will likely return before we leave Italy.

We loved Antonella's cozy restaurant and her home cooked meals. We had each a different four course dinner and enjoyed and savored every bite! She is such a wonderful, warm and friendly person. While she cooks you can talk with her and get to know her. We met really nice people from the UK as well as the US while we visited her restaurant. I recommend to everyone to try her vegan food. It doesn't matter if you are a vegetarian or a meat eater. The experience and the food are absolutely worth a trip to beautiful Lierna!

We had the best vegan food available at Lake Como in Antonella's restaurant and we couldn't have asked for anything more! Antonella was kind, welcoming, generous and overall an amazing host and super talented chef! Would recommend a detour to her place to anyone, whether vegan or not🌟

Amazing meal and fellow diners! After a week of travelling in Italy as vegans we were getting a bit bored by either having to order all the side dishes (salad and chips) or compromising on our values (e.g. vegetable soup with a heavy load of butter) and honestly had the feeling of missing out on the Real Italian Experience. One meal in Antonella’s home kitchen showed us there is a way for vegans (and glutenfrees) in Italy. Her teachings need to be a staple for Italian chefs working in 21st century tourism! We chose the Italian Classics menu with beautiful melanzane, beans, tiramisu (!!!) and a gorgeous bottle of wine. On top of that, we dined together with wonderful fellow tourists on a long table, that ensures the conversation kept flowing. A very different experience from your ordinary Bellagio/Varenna terrace dinner! If we’d stayed in the area for another night we would have definitely joined Antonella’s table again.

Wow what an amazing experience! My girlfriend and I came here for lunch on an absolutely beautiful day in September. Antonella was so friendly and accommodating. Not only was the food and service incredible, she gave us so many tips for other plant-based options in different cities in Italy. We will definitely return the next time we’re here.

Had a delicious 4 course meal here last night. Every dish was incredible and interesting and it was super unique to have a chef make a meal just for me and my partner. Antonella even made me a special dessert that worked for my dietary needs. It was easy to make a reservation over email too. 5 stars from me!

This is a must experience for all my traveling vegans and local vegans. First of all this is an exclusive celebrity chef cooking & serving up fresh vegan meals right on a beautiful waterfront of Lake Como perfect for a day on the water. She has amazing energy and quality food. We look forward to more Summers in Italy. #EnergyGoddess

I found this place randomly through google. 5 star rating and amazing pictures. Too good to be true :) When we arrived, we were flashed first by the appearance of Antonella, u can not put more experience and love into one human, and secondly by the restaurant it self. We were literally sitting in her living room. Around us was all of her personal stuff. Believe me, it took us only a second to feel welcomed. The mood was set and she brought out the first dish. I have never eaten fresh food so tender and tasty. Course after course our tongue was blessed by the amazing mind of Antonella. If you’re around and want to learn something about good food and brilliant ideas, that’s your place to go. Sending love to you Antonella, not only food wise this dinner was one of a kind. We had a wonderful experience at Anto’s restaurant. We emailed a day ahead and planned our order after seeing her on happy cow. I like that we know there is no food waste by using this order ahead system. Unfortunately we took and wrong train and were going to be late! We let her know by email and she was so kind about it. When we arrived our aubergine parmigiana were in the pan! The kitchen smelt amazing! We had chosen take out, but there is also the option to sit in and have a sort of tasting/set menu. Anto was so welcoming and boxed them up for us to take to the beach which is literally 10 foot steps from her front door! The food came with plastic cutlery and disposable containers but as Anto boxes it in front of you I am sure she would let you bring your own! The food was delicious! The aubergines were cooked to pull-apart perfection and I was still savouring the taste of the sauce hours later! I must tell you about the mozzarella. I think a lot of people go wrong with trying to capture the texture of mozzarella in vegan substitutes and lose the taste entirely. Not Anto, her mozzarella was soft and somewhere between crumbly and stretchy. You can tell it is homemade with quality ingredients. I know I will be thinking about it for a long time to come. And now for the wonderful hospitality extended to even take out customers: after our delicious meal we took a swim to take in the amazing views of lake como at sunset. It was so magical we didn’t notice the last train pulling out of the station… we tried to ask a few other nearby businesses but nobody could help. We found our way back to Anto who was so helpful. She called numerous people trying to find us a taxi one town over to trains that run later. Unfortunately she was unsuccessful but a lovely couple who were dining in at her house offered us a ride to the station we needed to get to. Many thanks to Anto for facilitating this!

The food here is fantastic! It is authentic Italian food made with Italian ingredients and all vegan. We had the pasta Fresca, one with pesto, one with tomato sauce; and tiramisu for dessert. All were delicious! Everything tasted so fresh! Definitely recommend!

The best place for authentic Italian vegan dishes. Just an incredible idea from Antonella. She is cooking fresh in front of you. The restaurant is in her living room / kitchen. You dine with others on a small table with great talks. Please check her homepage before you go. You have to order your menu by call, one hour ahead. It will be your best vegan dinner experience in Italy. I promise.
