A very rare couple of hours away from the business & decided to nip out for lunch, so glad we did, we found the Greendale Oak. glorious sunny day, the beer garden looks fab, but a bit too breezy for us today. We entered , greeted with a warm smile & taken to a table, after looking at the menus we ordered our food. Delicious is an understatement! And the presentation was just lovely, itโ€™s very obvious the staff take pride in what they do, they do it very well. Staff attentive, food absolutely gorgeous & no wait at all really. Fresh food, great choice & the pub is comfy and cozy. Ample car park. Time & money weโ€™ll spent. Thank you Greendale Oak! No doubt we will visit again. Dawn & Rob Lowe

Popped in today, hadn't booked luckily we managed to get a table. Ordered our drinks and food at the same time. We were then left quite a while waiting for our drinks, that long in fact that our food came out first. A young lad I think is name was Jack noticed we had been waiting and quickly sorted our drinks and apologized for our wait. A lovely lad with good customer service skills.

Called 2 days ago, I had the fish, chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce and curry sauce for ยฃ14.50. Absolutely excellent, real value for money. I struggled to eat it all! Also pleasant welcome and good beer.Recommended!

Really gone down hill, used to visit this place regular not been for a few months, menu very limited, after a long wait even though we was first in for dinner food come out burnt, pub was freezing, staff who believe was the manger or supervisor very rude. Will not be going back which is a shame with how many times we previously visited.

A very charming and cosy pub with friendly staff. Me and my family all thoroughly enjoyed three courses. The pork belly, fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding were standout favourites. Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned with little wait. Very hearty portions! My mum recieved 2 battered fish on her plate as the chef was worried that the original piece was too small (resulted in a mountain of fish on the plate but we all happily dug in to help her finish it!). Highly recommended and would love to go again.

Excellent service from the staff, a very pleasant environment, great beer and delicious food. My fish was do succulent and tasty, the batter, thin and crisp and the chips close to perfect. Fantastic.

The pub is in a lovely location and the seating area outside is beautiful on a summer evening. We were a party of six, most had a tomahawk steak which to us was over cooked and the others ordered ribeye which was under cooked but actually tasted nice. The staff were friendly.

Unfortunately whilst the food was superb, the service completely lets them down. It took 20 minutes for the order to be taken, only when we asked someone. 7 of us ordered, only 5 meals arrived, not once did any of the staff question this, 2 of them with things missing. Then it came to desert, nobody came to ask if we wanted anything, so found ourselves a menu and then found someone to take the order. 3/4 were right, with the 4 one being something that wasn't even on the menu. There seemed to be absolutely no form of organisation and just a free for all as to who was doing what. It's a shame as the food is really really good.

We hadn't booked but we were warmly welcomed, at lunchtime! The staff are warm and friendly and the food was very tasty! We had our dog with us and he was welcomed too. Great place, highly recommend and we will definitely return.

We were looking for somewhere to eat on Bank Holiday Monday and happened upon this place in Cuckney. We were accommodated quickly and although the food took a while (busy time) when it came it was very good (green curry and venison). Service was efficient and friendly and although I wasn't in a position to take advantage, the bar had a decent selection of good beers.

Quaint pub, really uncomfortable chairs! The food we chose was average, rump and fillet steaks - nothing special and not worth the ยฃ24/ยฃ32 price tags. In total spent ยฃ66 with 2 pints of Diet Coke - Would expect better food for the price. The half a red onion that was charred was a highlight, it was really tasty, and the steak knifes were really good as well. Similar food at the beefeater for about half the price.

No issues here, nice food and service with a smile. Great looking beer garden out front, we went to the seated area. Food was good and a reasonable price, and presentation. Would be happy to go again. Serve 200 degree coffee too. Recommend

Meal arrived coldish, lumps in the mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding was rock hard, and the half chicken was tough. My daughter had a nut roast, which was soggy and looked like stuffing, not crispy as it should be. Sorry about this, however, we're not ones to complain but unfortunately we won't be going again.

The food was amazing for the price. The portions were a good size. Service was good. Just popped in for brunch. My husband had a burger meal, I had a wrap with extra chips. The chips are amazing. We both had an alcoholic drink.

Great decor, warm welcome from Staff who where helpful and friendly. Food, starters great but portions of mains absolutely massive. Kids couldn't finish their kids meals and my partner struggled with her enormous pie. Gammon was a good size but a bit too Salty but we finished it.

Only had a drink but very comfortable, very busy place and car park not really big enough. Would def revisit and the food looked amazing.

What a fabulous pub and restaurant. The service was amazing, the staff were personable, knowledgeable and confident. We ate from the Festive Menu and, speaking as a real foodie, it was the best meal I have ever eaten. Great flavours beautifully cooked and well presented. The photograph shows my nieces Turkey Dinner BEFORE the roasties, veg tray and pigs in blankets appeared. I had the blade of beef and it was out of this world I heartily recommend

Came on Sunday for a late dinner. The beef was delicious and the veg were nicely done. However, the mash was bland, the roast potatoes were soggy and what can I say about the big Yorkshire pudding.... over cooked, dry, just horrible. This lead me to believe that coming here late is not the best idea as quite obviously we got the hours old, kept warm Yorkshires and roasties! Not expected for the ยฃ14 price!!

Fantastic place, great warmly welcome, excellent food. As was Sunday only roast dinners were being served which we were disappointed with but enjoyed. Will deffo go back another day as menu looks amazing.

A testimony to the new Head Chef. The restaurant and bar were full at 7pm. Would thoroughly recommend this eatery. All 3 of us rated it 5 stars. Definitely will return.

Food was great. However service is lacking, not sure how professional it is to burst into fits of giggles for no reason while taking an order and then excusing it on a long day. To be honest it was very odd. It was a Saturday night, I appreciate its a busy time and the long hours worked. Maybe youโ€™d benefit from extra staff in order to keep tables cleared, glasses collected and orders taken a bit quicker. We all have off nights and as I said the food was wonderful. Do visit because itโ€™s worth it. Just not at a really busy time.

Was extremely happy with the Greendale Oak, they were kind enough to cater for a large party of us (15) and let me provide decor for the table as this was a family birthday meal. Food was amazing and the staff were very attentive and helpful, a special thanks to Kate who was our tables waitstaff for helping make it a lovely evening ๐Ÿ™

Well what can I say, staff are great and friendly. Lovely atmosphere. We only had a quick drink but are definitely coming back to try the food, as it smells and looks fantastic ๐Ÿ˜Š

Had lunch here in one of their outdoor pods. Very nice on a relatively sunny day. Food was good "pub" food. Service at the bar a little slow just because only one person on the bar and more clients than expected.

  • 5/5 Sam B. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely place, nice and rustic feeling, the outdoor pods are also a nice touch when the weathers warm and you want to sit outside. Food would get 5 stars with my food choice, (cheese fondue), however my partner had the burger, which unfortunately wasn't great. So had to give it a 4. Other than that, can't fault it!

We had a Motherโ€™s Day meal her today which was absolutely awful and very embarrassing as my son came down from North Yorkshire to take me out for a meal. Tables dirty and sticky waiting staff scruffy and rude, the meal a cold starter was warm and the main meal burnt! The dessert was sent back as it was cold. Would not recommend it to anyone. Very disappointed.

Nice pub and beer garden. Warm and friendly atmosphere and nice helpful staff. The blond pale ale was very well kept and tasty. Food was reasonably priced and very nice. I fed back that it wasn't overly warm which was explained back to the kitchen staff (it wasn't overly busy at the time of eating) our side dish was also cold and charged as a dearer starter which the waitress amended to the cheaper price of the side with no issues. Overall very good and we will return for more visits here.

Absolutely loved our visit. The pub itself is charming and welcoming. When you walk through the door, it just feels right. The staff are so friendly and pleasant and greet you nicely with a smile. As for the food - it does not disappoint. We went for Sunday roast (great choices available) and the taste and quality was absolutely superb. It was so delicious and you could tell it was freshly cooked, home-made delight on a plate. We didn't want it to end. Everything about it was perfect. It was our first time eating at this pub and it definitely won't be our last. I can't recommend it enough!

On arrival we were asked if we were eating, as soon as we said we were just having a drink the attitude was very frosty, and made clear that we weren't welcome and tried to make excuses regarding table availability. They reluctantly pointed us to a table I ordered drinks and went and sat down. The lace is very nice but the staff are rude. As soon as we finished our drinks the glasses were taken as if to time for you to go. I will not be going there again, and will not be recommending it either..

The food is great here and the staff are always polite and welcoming. The pub itself is lovely and really cosy in the winter. The only criticism I could give is there could be a bit more choice for vegan/veggie options in the mains section, but I canโ€™t really fault the place! The portion sizes are spot on too!

We didn't have any food as we only popped in for a quick drink to size it up so to speak. The place is lovely if a little dark around the entrance. The ladies toilet was beautiful. The drink lovely and fresh and a great selection of rums. We never got a chance to look at the menu as only the Christmas menus were on the tables. I shall update when we return as I'm sure we will. Just as an extra they do some great entertainment which could be worth checking out ๐Ÿ˜Š

The Sunday lunch was excellent. Good portion and very tasty. For good quality exspect to pay a bit more than average, but you will enjoy the experience. Great staff and the facilities were clean and tidy.

Gardens at the front of the pub are lovely, plenty of seating outside to eat or drink. There are a few pods that seat 4-6 people and are covered over. Prices reasonable and helpful staff. Worth a visit.

This was our first visit and we will definitely be returning. I would say that booking is a really good idea, we were lucky that they could fit us in at short notice. The food was perfectly cooked and presented. The service was prompt and the staff we had contact with made us feel welcome and were friendly, smart and efficient. We ate inside but finished our drinks outside. The outside seating area is comfortably arranged with space between tables. I would highly recommend a visit.
