This is a great little tea room, stopped by for a coffee and treated ourselves to a scone. Wow the softest and lightest scone I've ever had with just the right amount of cream and jam so you still taste the scone! Atmosphere is lovely, friendly owners happy to help. Would recommend and ask you take me with you or at least bring me back a scone!

We visited here today for afternoon tea... The tea room was beautifully decorated with lots of antiques from various eras and the ceiling was a great feature to the room! We loved the overall vintage theme! :) The Waitresses were very warm welcoming and friendly The afternoon tea was very tasty, just the right mix of sweet and savory food, the sandwiches tasted very fresh and the cakes were light and fluffy. We loved the entire experience of the afternoon tea and will definitely be returning soon. Hopefully next time I won't leave my phone ha ha !

This is only the second time I have reviewed a place and given it 5 stars all the way. I only wish I could give this one SIX STARS! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 What a lovely cafe. The food was all made fresh and was delicious! Shame there wasn't any egg Mayonnaise, but the toasted ham sandwich made a good substitute! The ham was sooooo good! The cakes (which we didn't try, sadly) were homemade and looked so tempting! So what makes it a 40s style cafe? It is decorated to look like the owner's Grandma's living room. The music is all in keeping with the theme. Look out for the nic-nacks around the room. Her grandparent's photos, a pair of glasses, etc... The staff were all extremely efficient, friendly, chatty and made every customer feel like a long lost friend. There's a small step in the doorway. The interior is a bit on the small side. I can't comment on the toilets as we didn't use them! I only wish we lived locally as I can't wait to go back.

Had afternoon tea for my husbands 60th birthday . The food was amazing service excellent. Even banners and a card . Thankyou for making our afternoon so special . Definitely will be visiting again .

Fantastic YORKSHIRE service 🤗 super warm welcoming staff very friendly, and we really enjoyed our coffee and cake. And all at a very reasonable price, and my son had the full works milkshake, it's a big one. A must try 👍🤗🍰😊

A cosy intimate tea house in 1940s style. Very relaxed. Friendly welcome and attentive customer service that is rarely found these days. Toasted cheese and tomato salad with side of salad and crisps and chocolate cake with a large pot of Earl Grey tea were all delicious.

Genuine Tea lounge held by 2 nice ladies warm and so kind! The service is wonderful and the food delicious. The whole in a pleasant and joyful atmosphere with 2 adorable kids playing quietly on a table nearby. When you are a tourist, it's a small miracle to come across such a place. Everybody talks to everybody and each one feels himself important. Really. A tea lounge, we highly recommend.

Immaculate! The attention to detail, from the decor to the menu to the music was fab. Just what the doctor ordered. The owner was rushed off her feet having been let down by staff and yet she was beaming at all the guests who tried to sit (it's very popular, don't be surprised if its full!). Food was great and I'm a barrel full of tea now

I went to the « Forteas » tea room for the first time with three of my friends and we were absolutely amazed. It's so much like stepping into your grandmother's living room, the decor is vintage and encourages you to marvel, you don't know where to look, you're like a child with big open eyes waiting to have their snack. The tea room manager is adorable, so welcoming and passionate. Thank you for such a warm welcome, your homemade cooking is excellent, we had the scones and the chocolate cake which were succulent (I'm French and I like to eat, so yes I can tell you it was really delicious). Really, what gives life its value and interest is not so much achieving spectacular things as doing ordinary things with the perception of their immense value. What your grandmother taught you is so valuable, thank you for sharing it with us. See you soon, I'll definitely be back, trust me!

Wow...such an amazing little place. The welcome was as wonderful as the cakes. Made to feel so welcome and the food was all delicious. The best afternoon tea experience, full of nostalgia and would heartily recommend. We couldn't finish our tea so took left overs home..nothing was too much trouble. An absolute must if you're in area. X
