Only really skirted the park while travelling to Ringley Woods via Drinkwater on The Kingfisher Trail.. Which is worthwhile. There looks to be plenty of places to explore, with lots of birds and other wildlife. The 13 Arch Viaduct is also close. It looked clean and well maintained in parts, and wild in others; which I like. I'll try and spend more time when I'm next in the area.

Great place for walk, play in play ground with your child and bike cycling. There is a plenty of walking trails, river, water streams and woodlands. Great place to take children as there is playing area and inexhaustible amount of walking tracks.

This is a lovely park for a woodland walk. I went in via footpath off the Shell garage forecourt by the big Prestwich Tesco. After walking down a steep slope you end up on a pleasant woodland path that runs alongside Bradley Brook. This joins up with Drinkwater and St Mary's parks to make a longer walk, and also Irwell Sculpture trail. There are wildlife pools, a grade 2 listed viaduct and the sites of the old hall and gardens. The route I took wasn't suitable for wheelchairs, buggies or ordinary bikes, but there are other entrances that may be. I didn't pass toilets or a cafΓ© and there aren't any marked on the map.

Today we had a very nice walk with a group of people. It was organised to find and learn about fungi. Also we had a chance to join the park's apple fair. They have a lovely converted barn to use for the public including toilet as well.

Great place to visit for a walk with plenty of places to explore and even have a picnic. Very popular with dog walkers and mountain bikers (be careful not to stray onto the bike trails as they're not expecting walkers to be on there and they're going very fast). If you're going off the main paths it can get very muddy and boggy so hiking boots or wellies is advisable. Done great views of the ever changing Manchester skyline when you get high up.

Fantastic park! Highly recommend a visit! Although I have lived within a 10 mile radius of this park for over 10 years, it took a pandemic for me to visit it. You can easily get lost in the interconnecting park for hours! We spent a good 3 hours here but could have spent a lot longer if we wanted to. There were people around but the vast size meant that we didn't feel as there were many people. It felt very safe.

A beautiful place to cycle or walk, easily accessible from Prestwich Village; through Drinkwater Park Agecroft where there's a small car park; from Swinton via Livia Silverdale from Bolton Road, and Broughton following the Irwell River from the Weir. The parks all link together via bridges over the river and park boundaries. The Barn in Phillips Park hosts a cycle maintenance hub and a volunteer group. Lots of lovely spots to chill out and relax in or go for miles discovering new nooks and crannies by bike or foot. There's also a great professional mountain bike trail (which I helped to build!) in the park with sweeping banked curves and high rolling paths.

Incredible place for a nice walk to clear your head and get most in the sheer size of the place. It’s beautiful. Hidden gem inside the M60

Free to enter. The grounds to an old hall, which is lovely to walk round (the grounds that is). There is also an Incredible Edibles located in the grounds which encourages growers of produce and anyone wanting to get down with nature and gardening. They generally meet up every Sat morning. Enjoy. Car park free too.

Great park & forest to get lost in. Definitely takes some time to see everything, but it's absolutely worth it. Loved to see the old buildings, some cows and all the wildlife and water. Beautiful!

Peaceful quiet location. Few squirrels dotting around nice walks, a great escape from the city yet still on the outskirts of it

We had a very good walk today along Prestwich Clough and into Drinkwater and Phillips Parks, taking in the Clifton Viaduct and Aqueduct. The walk was an interesting trip through our industrial heritage, thinking about land use from medieval times when there was a memorial estate and hunting park there, up to early 20th century mineral quarry. At times it feels like you are walking through an old English forest, the vegetation is so thick. The one down side is that walking past the current factory heading towards Clifton Country Park, and under the M60 bridge, at times the footpath is very narrow and waterlogged.

Went to Philips park on my bike for the first time last weekend, well I must say, I'm glad I did... I just wish I'd of found it sooner. So I was riding around the park on my gravel bike, and came across a man on a MTB that informed me that I was going the wrong way on the trail I didn't even know I was on, I asked the gentleman where to go and promptly ended up blasting off the right way down a massive hill and into a load of jumps and chicanes... When I reached the bottom I had to make sure I hadn't filled my padded shorts with fudge, but nevertheless what a thrill, will be back again for more shorts browning adventures!

This place is really cool with tons of trails for mountain biking but be careful of punctures.

I’m one of the ones who actually slows down when mounting biking through Phillips Park, but some people walking down bike tracks with headphones are a menace. I won’t start on the 5m dog leads that are out there. Great place to ride in winter when no one’s out.

Lovely place to have a walk with friends or family, your dogs will enjoy it to as well as horses 🐴 also some abandoned buildings which are due to be demolished. Leads into the clough if your up for it overall a decent park with lots of green spaces βœ…

Great place to walk round. Joins two other parks over two council boroughs ( Drinkwater park). This means you can walk from Prestwich to agecroft in Salford with out going near the road. You can follow the rover path or the old bury canal At Philips park, there are some great mountain bike trails but by the sandpit crew to keep you active. Jumps, burns and bumps. Manchester Trail Blazers MTB club is based at Philips Park. They meet on a Saturday morning 10-1130am. Great for kids development in mountain biking. Good place to walk the dogs too. Just becareful of not walking on bike trails or the river in full flows.
