Great place for young & old alike. Walk through the woods, play in large play area, feed the ducks/swans/geese/squirrels. Extend walk to local canal. No toilets or refreshments, although today there was an expensive ice-cream van.

1st off parking is free, although on Google maps the parking lot looks small I didn’t find a problem parking. The play area is good, even for a bank holiday it wasn’t too busy. The walk area was nice although the ice cream van was extremely expensive, their are toilets right next to the play area. Overall a nice day out!

Visited with relatives from Bolton on New Year’s Eve, good to see so many people out on a mild dry day. Got some coffees an Ice Cream from the Ice cream van. Nice coffee at the van. Great treat for the family. Good walk around the pond kids loved feeding the ducks.

Just had a lovely walk with my kid this morning. Enough parking space. Beautiful lake. Quite a number of ducks and swans surrounded us. They were amazing and seemed friendly. Should be a nice place for people to walk their dogs too.

One of the great places to go with the kids is the great country park in Farnworth way the kids can spend hours on the challenges in the play park. There are miles of walks around three lakes, one lake is for canoes, the Rock Hall Visitor Centre or set up your picnic and relax for the day. Also save something to feed the ducks! Many swings for kids too.

A large country park with lots of birds and swans. Ice cream van is in the park and you can buy some ice cream and enjoy with your family.

Nice place! Pass it every day and never stopped. Finally took the kids for a walk there and thought it was brilliant! Nice Park there too! Carpark was empty however, i have past it on warm weekends and it can get very busy! The ice cream man is far over priced, even more than Heaton Park!

Moses gate is a great local family park with three mini ponds you can easily walk around, that are suitable for all ages an abilities. Total distance is about 1mile all the way round. The beauty with Moses Gate though with how the park is designed you can walk each individual pond on its own, giving you the ability to tailor your stroll. The park also offers a few nature trails inside the forest, which make for a great adventures for the kids with an aray of wild life too be seen. The park is easy access an has some great picnic areas.there is also a large soft ground play area situated near the water fall for the kids play. Plus as a sweet treat you will often find a ice cream van in the main cat park!! The are Public loos available but these arnt always open. Parking is easy too get too an park with disable parking available. Plus depending on how much of a stroll you would like you can park higher up or right down bye the lake. Making this park perfect for those who my have difficulty in mobility. The path ways of the park are suitable for both wheel chair an also push chairs. But be mind full as on winter days these can be quite muddy so could become challenging..

Nice park with some lovely walks and views. Only downside is some of the other clientele who think it's acceptable to scream around it on a quad bike.

We go here both to keep the grand kids entertained, and to walk the dog. There's lots of space for picnics or games and you can also access nice walks along the river and upto the old Bolton canal to see the machano Bridge and picnic tables.

This always seems to be the place where all the swans hang out, but it’s also a great place to start longer walks too. There is a popular children’s play area and extensive footpaths leading to new adventures. Keep on exploring and you will find a sadly abandoned canal junction or a graveyard or who knows what…

This is a lovely park with big lake, ducks, swans, massive picnic area, car park and playground. Definitely needs proper toilets and cafe.

1st time here - this place is MASSIVE!!! From entering the park & being greeted by so many birds, ducks, swans on the main lake to hiking high up into woodland & crossing bridges it really is a place that I will be returning to throughout the year! Feels like I have only just scratched the surface after 2 hours spent here with the dogs & am looking forward to going back to explore some more lol As always the furry boys loved it & I try to mix their walks up at a weekend, blending the familiar with the unchartered plus once they get home, its game over & sleep time for about 12 hours πŸ‘πŸ‘

Good for dog walking and a nice playground for the kids. One thing to bear in mind is the toilets aren't normally open, and the ice-cream van likes an earn and then some.

Lovely open spaces to walk around. Three ponds the largest having swans, ducks and geese swimming. Saw loads of babies. Play park for the children. There are picnic benches all around the lake and near the playground.

Nice place for a walk with the dogs, stunning views over the macron stadium and towards the coast. Unfortunately though yet another local area spoiled by litter....

Such a lovely walk up there by Arcon, the fishing lodges and little Ridgmont Park.

  • 5/5 Duncan H. 2 years ago on Google
Really good playground, suitable for kids of all ages. Has larger slides and climbing frames for the older kids, and smaller slides and swings for the younger ones. Lots of things to do and play on here. Fantastic surroundings as well with beautiful walks along rivers and canals and paths through woodland if you want to venture out.

  • 1/5 Colin J. 3 years ago on Google
It's a good walk from Wallsuches. In fact it is at Ridgemont. And it's not a monument, it's a support tower for a water tank.

Good Park for the kids, lovely to walk around the lake and the country park. Plenty of parking and an ice cream van on site for everyone, hot drinks cold drinks the lot, cash and card taken.

My dog loves it there. It's a great place to escape from the busyness of the city

  • 5/5 Katarzyna β€œKARMEN” M. 2 years ago on Google
it's great places for a picnic walk as well as for sports. there are three beautiful ponds around, each with a different fauna and flora. majestic view because weeping willows grow along the ponds, water sticks stick out and a yellow lily also grows. there are lots of birds so those who like sightings are really worth a look. the views are indescribable and the time when the sun rises or sets intensifies its effect. the place is fairly quiet located what a Manchester side from Bolton.

  • 5/5 Tina L. 2 years ago on Google
I like going there and feeding the swans and ducks with peas and have an ice cream. But Β£4 for a cone? A bit steep. It's not even some special ice cream. Just cream and sugar. Make it into chocolate, vanilla and strawberry and I pay happily 4 quid for a cone.

  • 5/5 Steven T. 2 years ago on Google
Great place to take the kids to feed the birds, many different species for you to hand feed. Free parking at the top and bottom of the hill. Lovely walk around the two lakes.

  • 5/5 Teoman Ozsen (. 2 years ago on Google
Perfect park for kids lots of things to do. Good walking distance as well. You can leave your car on top carpark and walk down or you can park further down. I believe both areas no need to pay.

  • 4/5 Richard F. 1 year ago on Google
This is a hidden gem and an unlikely beautiful green space in an industrial area. Lovely walks around the lakes and rivers plus orchids on the old industrial land near the canal. Two rivers to admire but watch out for the Giant Hogweed in places - the reason for 4 not 5 stars.

  • 3/5 Liam P. 1 year ago on Google
It's a nice enough park for a day out with some nice nature parts & lakes and river. The grass is quite muddy & not ideal for a picnic mind. The ice cream van is extremely expensive with the average price at Β£4.50 for a cornet. This place would really benefit from an on site cafe.

  • 5/5 Maqsood A. 10 months ago on Google
When the sun is out and the ground is dry, this is a brilliant place for a nice walk, feeding the swans and ducks and also just sitting next to the water and relaxing. There is a park for children and plenty of grass to sit and play and have a picnic. There is also plenty of parking too.

  • 4/5 Jake N. 11 months ago on Google
The park is very pretty and nice to walk around. My kids had fun feeding the swans and geese in the pond. The playground is large and spacious with a lot of different types of equipment to play on, although there were a few pieces that were broken and unusable.

  • 5/5 mr z. 8 months ago on Google
Breath taking site, it was wonderful to visit and enjoy watching the geese swans and birds as well as walking around the different lakes it was mesmerising.

  • 4/5 Claire 7 months ago on Google
Beautiful park with 3 lakes & next to the River Croal. Ideal for all the family but no public toilets. Wheelchair & pram friendly but tarmac pathways can be a bit bumpy in places. Rock Hall is boarded up which is a shame. Plenty of wildlife. Lots of picnic & normal benches along with waste bins. Free parking in multiple little car parks but there is a height restriction at entrance. Kids play area is well kept. I'm assuming there are volunteer litter pickers because everywhere was so clean & tidy, well done 😁

  • 5/5 Tracey F. 6 months ago on Google

We parked on the road outside as the car park at the top was full. I'm so glad we did it was very busy but it was a nice chilled out walk and nearly everyone we saw coming towards us said hello. Its good to see people enjoying the park so early in the year. The birds definitely didn't look like they were short of food. It was a nice enjoyable experience and we will be back

The lakes have an abundance of migratory birds. There are plenty of pathways to stroll. There is a large playground for children, fenced off and away from the quiet walkways around the lakes. Lots of trees and plenty of fresh air. Don't forget food for the ducks and swans (no bread though).

  • 5/5 Dave H. 3 years ago on Google
Great space for a quick walk and fresh air without having to travel out of town. A few routes to choose from that can bring you back to the free car park without going back on yourself. Need good outdoor footwear if not sticking to the main paths.

Really nice place for the day out. Lots of water, river and ponds with lots of birds (wild ducks, gouses, swans and seagulls). For sure we'll visit that park once again during spring or summer. I'll bet that it will be looking much better when it'll be more green colours. Hopefully then kids could use the playground with nice looking slide.

A lovely place for a crisp winter walk, if you like bird watching then you will not be disappointed here. Some great walks leading to the Bury,Bolton and Manchester canal, just make sure you have a good pair of walking boots/wellies on as it can be a little mucky in parts .plenty of parking if you want to drive here and the ice cream van was here today!
