Great House Barn is jestled in the picturesque countryside, this historic venue offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. The barn has been beautifully restored, retaining its original features while incorporating contemporary touches. The exposed wooden beams, stone walls, and high ceilings create a charming and cozy ambiance that is perfect for any occasion. There's also parking facilities, making it convenient for visitors. One of the highlights is its idyllic location. Surrounded by lush green fields and rolling hills, it's a great place to start or end your walk within the area. Overall Experience: Very nice breakfast. Staff were excellent with timely service. Can get busy but turn around is good. Lovely places to have a walk before or afterwards. Definitely recommend.

Situated at the Go Ape Rivington site, with ample free parking. The food and service here is so good, I would visit here on it's own merit. I was served by a gentleman called Adam. Amazing customer service, polite and just knew what he was doing. The food was stunning. A wide range of snacks, including jacket potatoes, sandwiches, paninies and ice cream. Salim Patel

Though the service and atmosphere of the place are great, I'm forever getting a cold coffee when I'm there. Yes, they heat it up upon request, but if I wanted an ice coffee, I'd ask for one to begin . As for the food, we tend to only orderz snacks, a cake or something. On one of our recent visits ( within the last month ), the piece of cake was stale, not good anywhere, but it's not one of the cheapest places around either.

Excellent customer service. A very large team of efficient, helpful staff ensure that things run smoothly. Breakfast was excellent as was the coffee. Lots of seating and a very nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The venue has changed since I last visited. More of a restaurant rather than a cafe was my impression. Service was quick considering it was busy, staff were helpful and smiled. I enjoyed the beef hot pot. The breakfast burger looked nice. Toilets were the public loos nearby (as it always had been for the venue), unless I was mistaken?

Had a walk and explore round Rivington with friend and her dog , called for lunch here , dogs very welcome, water bowls dotted around , good choice of food to choose from and not bad priced too, we decided to sit outside as weather quite pleasant , I enjoyed a beer braised beef roll with salad , Slaw and crisps , friend had the cajun chicken salad , had a coke to finish off , both meals were really good and just right size , staff friendly and welcoming , will be back in near future

I LOVE it here. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the setting is beautiful and there is some really tasty food and lovely drinks like the sticky toffee hot chocolate and gingerbread latte 😍 I've called in to get a takeaway drink on a walk a couple of times and had breakfast here at the weekend which was delicious!

I recently visited Great House Barn in Rivington and had a wonderful experience. The barn is a beautiful 16th-century structure with a slate roof and oak cruck construction. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy some homemade cakes, light lunches, and coffee. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the service is excellent. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable experience in the countryside.

Great place to stop for lunch then burn it off with a walk on any of the Rivington trails. Sharon had a ham and cheese toastie and I plumped for the piri-piri chicken flatbread. Both dishes come with ample salad. Food was both fresh and tasty and went well with a cider on the sunny terrace. Outside tables have umbrellas for shading - a must have this y😎

Called in for a Sausage and Egg muffin and a latte with my partner, had to send back the food as the egg looked as though it had been warmed up from the day before, all burnt to a cinder! I alerted the waitress and politely asked if she would be so kind to replace the food without any fuss and causing any distraction to the other diners. They replaced the food. We ate it and as we we're leaving, I thanked the waitress who we spoke to in replacing the food on the way out and said goodbye and received no acknowledgement at all. No goodbye or anything! Oh well, we won't be spending £17.75 to eat there again.

Nice place to visit before after doing the walk to rivington pike. Went on a sunday and was busy. Had a bacon barm although it was full of thick bacon it needed the fat on the bacon cooking more as it was chewy and not remotely crispy. Service was decent and quick but not much interaction. You also order and pay at the same time before you get your food.

Myself and my family took a drive out and ended up here for a bite to eat, weather was lovely so we all sat out side, very friendly staff and very accommodating with dogs both inside and out, food was delivered within 10mins and was all fresh and hot , I can imagine it gets very busy in summer and while the kids are on school holidays, would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely lunch with friends. Service spot-on - attentive but not intrusive and drinks/food served in good time. Menu good and food delicious. Lots of different cakes & scones also available. Dogs are welcome too. Would highly recommend 👌

Had a tasty ginger flapjack & espresso in the late afternoon - it was still quite busy then but I know it can be heaving on a weekend or bank holiday, especially if the weather is nice. I was cycling but the car park can get full very quickly and expect queues backing out onto the road & causing hazards.

Food was good, quick, pleasant service but the toilets were shocking, tidy but no water, notice to use sanitiser, apparently, another customer said it has been like this for some time. Not good enough when you are so busy. I would be interested to know your response.

A lovely old building that houses a cafe/restaurant and ice cream parlour. Seating inside and out. Around 10 flavours of ice cream to choose from. Friendly staff, toilets available and a free to use medium sized carpark, that can get very busy. Getting there early is recommended. The centre is situated next to the Rivington countryside ranger station that sells art and craft items and also next to a Go Ape centre. The tea rooms and shop is surrounded by beautiful woodland and near to the large Rivington Reservoirs and River Douglas source. Lovely place for long walks to take in all the beauty the area has to offer. Great place for solo, couples, families, etc.

This place always delivers. We had breakfast barms this time but every time we've eaten here the food and service is always brilliant. Highly recommend. My partner loves the ginger flapjack.

Nice place but crazy expensive. Basically two pieces of rasher in a bun with a coffee £6 plus. Not good value at all, having said that,I have the staff are 100% top class. It would have been three stars otherwise .

Lovely setting, nice, warm and inviting. Nice staff and good service but wasn't a lot left on the menu. Freshly made soup was very good, didn't need the sandwich that went with it which wasn't great in comparison.

Honestly, I've never been here but intend on visiting. The place looks fantastic. I'm just giving a 5 star review to build this place up after the ridiculous assessment made by some entitled guy a week ago. I'm sure a powercut inconvenienced you far more than it did him. After reading his reviews he sounds like he needs his phone taking off him. Have a fantastic day and you're all amazing.

Lovely food but the service is so slow. It took ten mins to make 3 ice creams and 2 coffees when there were 4 members of staff. Not sure why other than slowness. this is the only negative though! Great food, drinks and atmosphere
