Lovely atmosphere, staff are amazing and the food wonderful.

We went here for afternoon tea recently. The place is absolutely gorgeous. From the outside which looks welcoming to the lovely interior. They use proper porcelain, have flowers on tables and even the staff wear vintage style uniforms. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious and fresh. They have an excellent choice of flavoured teas and coffee too. You can take away cake. Plus there are also gifts you can buy including candles and oil burners. It's also in an historical building which was once lived in by a designer of the titanic, well with visiting.

Lovely decor and pleasant atmosphere. Had the traditional indulgence afternoon tea, it was superb. Loose tea leaves served in a massive tea pot along with china tea cup, we had a refill too. Good selection of fresh sandwiches, scone and other delights, I opted for the carrot cake from the cake selection and ended up bringing it home as I was too full. Excellent service too. Food and service was excellent. The only constructive criticism is that maybe the music could be more from Mary Poppins to create even more an atmosphere. Apart from that, everything was super. The scones are a must try!

I suprised my wife with afternoon tea at Poppins tea room on Saturday. I booked in advance to avoid disappointment! Inside and outside the venue was very impressive with Victorian style decor and the Mary Poppins theme throughout. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was lovely! We had a great time and will definitely be returning in the future!

We had a family celebration lunch here. There is an excellent choice of afternoons teas, cakes and many other menu items. We had a lovely time. The food was served promptly, by friendly helpful staff. They were happy to tweak some of the sandwich choices, to cater for people with a plainer palate. Everything was lovely and fresh. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. We were able to sit and natter even after we had cleared our plates. There was no hurry up, to rush us out the door. Poppins was fairly busy, given it was a Thursday. Many other people came and went. So a great atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend. Thank you!

Been a couple of times before, and the afternoon tea was amazing lovely and fresh. I was getting full just looking at it and we couldn't finish it. Good luck for the future, definitely be back

Really nice tea and scones! I was made to feel very welcome and I loved the loose tea options. I want to try afternoon tea here next time, all I’d say is decor wasn’t for me but I liked the charm.

Had a lovely Afternoon tea with family for my mum's birthday on 18th May. The savoury and sweet elements were equally delicious. We had to take the chocolate and lemon cake home as we were too full too finish! Lovely quirky tea room. Will be back next time I'm visiting my mum.

Took my mum and nieces for afternoon tea for mums 70th,absolutely fantastic, we were full and had to take some home lol,if you like afternoon tea this is the place to go. Thank you ❤️

Small tea room but massive on quality and choice. Great to be able to have a sandwich and scone without all the extra cakes. Full afternoon teas are available but personally I don't always want a full afternoon tea I want choice and Poppins delivers that in abundance. Always excellent quality. The luxury fruit scones are better than many of the bigger well known tea rooms. Outstanding value for money! Fantastic daily soups. Once visited. You will keep returning. Cannot be beaten for choice, excellent service, quality and value!

Really lovely place, wonderful friendly staff. Excellent very large pot of tea for two. The best though was the absolutely amazing Velvet cake & my sumptuous biscoff cake. We really enjoyed the Poppins tea rooms & will return soon to try an Afternoon tea.

Took my sister in law to my favourite tea room and again they didn’t disappoint. I hadn’t been for a while but the service and food is still the same. While there I booked again to take my Auntie. I still can’t finish the cake from the indulgence menu but love the fact they box it to take home so my partner does not miss out. No wonder he loves me going! I only get to see the waiting on staff but praise should also go to the kitchen staff for their hard work. Thank you to the whole team. See you soon x

I love this place. The staff always go above and beyond to help their customers! The owner even attached an umbrella to my friends chair to stop her getting burnt today. The food is always super fresh and tasty. The fruit scones are the best I've ever had and the selection of cakes and teas is amazing. I will always be a regular here. If you haven't been, get booked in!

I am a lover of tea rooms, and have visited tea rooms all over England, and even on Jersey and Cyprus, and my wife and I have waited to come here all through the lockdown, and it was worth the wait, we were very satisfied with the service and the menu, and we shall return again soon.

Great place for lunch or just to meet for a brew. Great menu of afternoon teas available and a comfy outdoor seating area in the sun. The interior decor is nice and the service from the lady who was working this afternoon was perfect. I had bacon and brie toasted sandwich with a cream of mushroom soup. It was delicious and we will be back soon. Thanks

Went and had the indulgent afternoon tea and it was amazing!!! The sandwiches were delicious, I could've eaten a plate full of them! The scones and cakes were fresh and tasty and the tea was piping hot. All for a fair price. The staff were very friendly and service was prompt. All round excellent experience. I will definitely be visiting again!

We had a voucher for here, and had to wait nearly two years to use, but they are open now, and the service is excellent, the menu is more than sufficient, the quality of everything is excellent, very satisfying, will definitely go again.

After being recommended by several friends, I decided to take my sister and nephew here for afternoon tea. The quality of the food and service was outstanding. I requested a vegetarian menu option and the chef made egg mayonnaise sandwiches especially for us. This was definitely an above and beyond moment. Not only that, the lady we had serve us was exceptionally friendly, warm and welcoming. Poppins tea room is family friendly and caters for the mini people. They provided a clean highchair and seating area for my baby as well. I was very impressed. Their cake selection was amazing and I got the carrot cake, sticky toffee, lemon meringue and forerro rocher cakes. Let's just say they didn't last 5 minutes when I got home. My husband said the cakes were delicious and moreish. I will definitely be visiting again and will be recommending you to all family and friends. The location is easy to find. Parking is close and free on nearby streets. When you're in there it doesn't feel like you're on the middle of Horwich, you feel like you're in a lovely little village in the countryside. I loved the vintage decor (very pretty and xmassy, it is December after all). Highly rate this place. Amazing staff, atmosphere, food and service. 10/10!
