Very
quiet,
reasonable
evening
dinners
that
are
occasionally
more
expensive
than
they
should
be,
warm
&
friendly
staff
(but
we've
been
going
here
for
years,
so
they've
got
to
know
us
a
little),
occasional
live
music
from
a
pianist.
Breakfasts
include
muesli
with
yoghurt,
prunes,
cereal,
croissants
and
toast,
an
excellent
fried
traditional
English
breakfast,
avocado
on
toast,
fruit
juices,
coffee
and
tea.
It's
very
comprehensive
and
very
good
quality.
Rooms
have
a
small
fridge
and
come
with
complimentary
tea,
coffee,
fresh
milk
and
biscuits,
fresh
refrigerated
water,
a
bottle
of
beer
or
ale
and
a
small
wine
glass
portion
bottle
of
prosecco.
The
free
WiFi
is
flakey,
but
generally
useable
and
the
rooms
are
well
ventilated
and
cozily
warm
on
an
evening.
The
TVs
are
getting
old,
but
are
perfectly
acceptable,
the
beds
are
large
and
very
comfortable.
It's
one
of
the
few
places
where
we
get
a
luxurious,
comfortable
sleep
and
doze
off
immediately,
without
the
usual
tussle
for
the
covers
and
fight
for
leg
space.
The
rooms
are
really
spacious,
but
feel
very
cozy
and
have
an
"ideal
home"
quality
about
them,
but
the
narrow
stairs
to
reach
them
can
be
awkward
if
you
are
disabled.
The
hotel
also
offer
a
packed
lunch
for
overnighters
to
have
the
following
day.
Lunch
includes
a
large
sandwich
(a
choice
of
three
fillings,
I
think),
a
bag
of
crisps
and
a
piece
of
fruit.
I
think
they
also
give
you
a
small
bottle
of
water,
but
I
can't
remember.
This
is
ideal
for
hikers
who
flood
the
Peaks
during
the
various
holiday
seasons
and
make
the
overnight
stay
prices
seem
much
more
reasonable.
The
hotel
is
fully
booked
very
early,
so
make
sure
you
book.
