A fascinating place with free entry. Most of the path is Ok for longer walks. I recommend visiting the complex under the Pigeon Tower.

Every time we turned a corner here we all just said "wow" there really is a lot to see! From the gardens to the lakes and the amazing buildings!!! You could spend hours here exploring! The good thing is that there is a cafe to get a cuppa (it's just at the top of the hill!)

Eleven Grade I architectural gems set into a much degraded (but being restored) Grade II landscape. Plenty of interpretation boards but Google before visiting. Plenty of free parking and clean toilets at (closed) Visitor Centre

My aim was to cycle up to rivington pike which I did, but coming down hill I saw an entrance which I thought might be a cool down hill side path. Finding the kitchen and the gardens was highly unexpected and surprising. I was stunned.

I went to a special event on my visit so perhaps not best placed to comment more generally. However, the event that I attended was extremely well organised and well worth the visit. The volunteers here have clearly done a fabulous job in making the gardens special. This is a real hidden gem.

This place holds so many great memories for me. I've completed several different walks around the gardens and the pike over many years and it's somewhere I always return to regularly. . It's perfect for families as it offers enough challenge for little ones but still manageable for the entire family. . Rivington is a vast area with lots to offer so if you're unfamiliar with it you won't regret a visit. Perfect for all weathers too.... I have been up to the Pike in snow, heavy rain, thick fog, and blazing sunshine.... Always possible and never a chore. I absolutely love this place.

Always a lovely visit at Rivington. The weather was perfect, there was hardly anyone there so we got some lovely pictures and we took our daughter for her first hike with her new walking boots, she's turning into a keen explorer! It was absolutely stunning today, there was a bit of rubbish around which was a shame, bottles and KFC box meals 🀯 Overall lovely visit as always!

Stunning place to go and explore near Manchester. Beautiful grounds and architecture, we lived the Japanese lake. A hidden gem I never knew was so close by.

Love Rivington. It's a great place to get out and walk or ride your bike. There's loads of free parking heading up to the Main Upper Barn. Great to see the bikers meet up and have a bacon butty and coffee Follow your nose pretty much up to Belmont Tower, through the Terraced Gardens, then the Pigeon Tower and go further to get you over to the Masts, Great Hill and White Coppice. Great walks and rides. There's a cafe "best view Cafe" that's literally near the top to Belmont

Maybe it’s better in the summer? Just loads of concrete. No colour. No gardens as such. Disappointed as expected more.

Really lovely gardens in the wild, does involve a fair bit of walking though so do wear suitable footwear as many of the pathways are stoney and cobbled. some really great sights hidden away in the forest. Important to note that some of the lakes and streams do dry up in the summer but its still lovely to look at. The various sights are all located in different places in the forest, not all in one location so you have to wall from one to another, can be quite tiring, but worth it if you enjoy this kinda thing. Due to some road closures we had to park at pigeon tower car park, but it was actually a pretty ideal location.

Love Rivington and the work they've done to show how it used to be, great for walks, and to relax and enjoy nature.

A perfect easy hike for the whole family beautiful scenery and great for adventures . Don't take a pram though !! And be prepared to get lost as there are no sign posts. The dog loved it.

Would not go at this time of year. Very busy, sad to see setting up of Bank Holiday fair at this top of this beauty spot. Take away food vans and lots of vehicles including articulated truck with fairground rides. We have previously been and it has been better. πŸ˜•
